"Chef Kim Dae-chun’s cooking continues to diversify and deepen over time. The menu at this restaurant embodies the culinary direction he wishes to pursue, largely thanks to his modern Korean preparations. Under the theme of fermentation and aging, the essential attributes of Korean gastronomy, the chef prepares ingredients with care and expertise. The 7th Door symbolises a gastronomic entrance to “the seven tastes of food,” the first five being the five basic tastes; the sixth, the taste of fermentation and aging; and the seventh, the culinary sensibility of the chef." - Michelin Inspector

Toc Toc

"For Chef Kim Dae-cheon, the ingredients and precise techniques that summarize his cooking philosophy are summed up in one word: toconomy (Toc Toc + gastronomy). Signature dishes at Toc Toc include truffle dumplings and pasta with Chef Kim's original flair. In addition to the course meals, the restaurant also offers a wide range of well-executed à la carte dishes." - Michelin Inspector

"Rank: #34 "Kim Dae-chun is well known to Asia’s 50 Best, with his first Seoul restaurant, TocToc, winning the One To Watch Award in 2017. A former musician, Kim discovered a love of cooking while in Japan, training at the Tokyo Cookery Academy before introducing diners at Naoto Kishimoto's L'Embellir to Korean flavours."

7th Door is a great place to introduce anyone who is new and interested in exploring a wide range of korean flavours in one place. I think this place sits up to 15 at a time, so it works well whether you are solo-dining, couple, or a group. As one would have read, this place serves up different dishes, each with different fermentation flavours, opening up your palate for the next. I do not profess to be knowledgable in any fermentation techniques. To be honest, I got lost in each description of the dish the staff meticulously tried to explain. Nevertheless, it all got translated into the wonderful flavours! If I knew better, I would have opted for both main dishes with a top-up, instead of just choosing one of the two options during my visit. Well deserved Michelin One-Star Restaurant.

Chef learnt cooking in Japan, and he's very fluent in Japanese. His dishes are all mix with Japanese, Italian, French and of course Korean. He has so many signature dishes you can't miss. Please make a reservation a way before the date you would love to visit. Otherwise, they are fully booked!

Great lunch course but not like crazy great. Did not really get or taste the fermented sauces. Felt the courses were designed in a safe way. Still, Overall a good lunch meal.

Spectacular dining experience! All the food was incredible, meticulously prepared and served in a unique way. Such creative and delicious servings, the Executive Chef is magnificent. The entire team at the restaurant worked together at such a high level to provide a truly memorable experience, and absolutely delicious meal. Unmatched service and food. This restaurant is a must when in Seoul!!

A standout spot for its creative use of Korea’s most traditional pastes and ingredients. You can really sense Chef Kim Dae-cheon’s wit in every dish, making for a truly delightful dining experience.

Fine cooking throughout by Chef Kim and team. The memorables were the Hors d'Oeuvres, Hanwoo 1++ short ribs, and a whimsical snack packed in a '7th door' paperbag dished out from a green recycled Fendi Basket. Wine pairing was decent. Service was cordial, and it would be great if a more detailed explanation of fermentation Cheong sauces used for each course.

Absolutely outstanding. If you are in Seoul this is a culinary experience not to be missed. Thanks to their slow fermentation process, each unique dish offers the distinct flavours and textures of Korea in such innovative, BEAUTIFUL, and dare I say fun ways. I particularly love the take on the typical 7-11 quick meal, and the Korean Beef was to die for. The ambience is cosy, stylish and conducive for an intimate night out. Great serving wares too! Must must must try

Lovely take on Korean food with clever interpretation and modern approach. Staff were hands-on and carefully explained what each dish stands for. Loved the casual atmosphere that is not uptight to just enjoy good food and wine.
