Pretty much the main reason we go to Montreal every year. Food is super hearty so make sure to go hungry. Get the spaghetti au homard lobster!

If Joe Beef is booked (and it likely will be unless you book like a month in advance), then go to Liverpool House next door (owned by the same folks as Joe Beef). They serve the lobster pasta there too, but for some reason, tables are easier to get here.

Awesome, awesome pizza place in St. Henri. Their patio is the cutest. Get the Diavola and Fiore Fiore!

If you want to earn it, hike up Mont Royal in the morning then go here after for lunch!

Unreal bahn mi's. Got the traditional and char siu ones last time and they were bomb. Even Andrew said they were huge and that's saying something!

Portuguese chicken - get the poutine + don't forget the pastel de natas. Pro tip - get takeout from here + Epicerie Sue and have yourself the best picnic at nearby Parc La Fontaine.

They make like a pie version of a kouign-amann and it's so good!

Awesome bakery in the Mile-End - you walk in and there's just a giant wall of bread

The fried bologna sandwiches don't look like much, but they are SO good. Super charming place (looks like it hasn't changed since like the 50s) and the staff is super entertaining to talk to.

Another good bakery in Mile-End. Had a tahini croissant here that was awesome.

Get all the sesame/everything bagels to take home!

One of Montreal's many food markets. This is a big one in Little Italy - apparently Le Petit Alep (Syrian food) is really good, but haven't tried yet!

Super cute brunch place in Old Town. The space is beautiful, and they have a little grocery section in front with local goods from Quebec.

The CUTEST little grocery shop - awesome for buying treats/souvenirs for folks back home.
