Roadtrips from Toronto

Grandad's Donuts
Donut shop · Hamilton
One of our quarantine highlights lol - we basically went here every other week to stock up on donuts. Call and order ahead since they run out of flavors, AND they only let you buy 6 of each flavor in-store. Get any of the old fashioned cake donuts - our fave is the orange twist!
McQueen's Banh Mi Viet
Sandwich Place · Hamilton
Super unassuming banh mi place, in the middle of a strip mall. We were skeptical at first but we were blown away by how good these were! We got the Ultimate Oink and the Traditional one - bread was super fresh and fillings were super flavorful. I could've eaten like 4 of these. And each sando was only $4!
Ola Bakery & Pastries
Bakery · Hamilton
Blown away by the Portuguese custard tarts here.
Donut Monster
Donut Shop · Hamilton
Trendier donut shop in a cute residential area. They do the yeasty type of donuts with crazy flavors - they had a kimchi one last time we went (which we did not get lol). The hibiscus, apple fritter and earl grey were pretty good. There's a park near here that's great for picnics!
Collective Arts Brewing
Brewery · Hamilton
Cool brewery with a huge patio. They make crazy flavored beers (e.g. hibiscus, etc.) and there's a ton of art in the area. They also have food trucks around for snacks! You can also buy beer to take home.
Rosewood Estates Winery
Winery
Super pretty winery in Beamsville - their tasting room is so pretty. You can arrange for tastings on their patio, and sometimes they have food trucks around for snacks. Get the Nebulous, Sangria or Pinot Noir to take home! Oh, and they allow dogs!
The Red Barn Farm Market and Bakery
Temporarily Closed
Super cute roadside fruit and veggie stand. They sell pies, jams, cookies, etc. and the BEST frozen yogurt made from local Ontario fruit that's in season!
Pearl-Morissette Estate Winery
Winery · Kivalliq
Best wines in Ontario imo. The restaurant is supposed to be awesome.
Niagara Glen Nature Centre
Temporarily Closed
Cool hiking trails - the first leg is a super tall staircase which is kind of scary cuz you feel like you're gonna fall between the steps lol. But once you get over that, there's a lot of super pretty views of the Niagara Gorge (you can watch people in boats in the rapids). It's pretty moderate, nothing too crazy, unless you want to climb the rocks on the edge to get closer to the water. There's also picnic area in the front where you can chill after you do the hike.
Niagara Oast House Brewers - Craft Brewery in Niagara On The Lake
Brewery · Niagara-on-the-Lake
Local brewery in NOTL. They served a peach beer at Momo which was bomb. They have a little barn and patio area for beers and bbq!
Chudleigh’s Entertainment Farm
Farm · Halton Hills
Apple picking farm - great for kids (and my parents lol). Sneak in some apples for snacks while you go picking, no one will know...
Andrews Farm Market & Winery
Temporarily Closed
Farm where you can pick your own fruit/flowers. In August, they have this massive sunflower field. Pro-tip: if you go closer to 4pm (they technically close at 4.30-5pm-ish), they waive the admission fee for you.
Island Lake Conservation Area
Park · Mono
Haven't been here, but looks nice.
