Milan 2024

La Piola
Lombardian restaurant · Lambrate
Santuario di San Bernardino alle Ossa
Catholic church · Quarto Oggiaro
In honor of all the victims of the plague, who couldn't be accommodated by the cemetery. Once inside, turn right and walk through a hallway until you reach the ossuary. The chapel is dark and rather small, and every inch of the walls is covered with human bones and skulls piled behind a wire mesh.
Erba Brusca
Restaurant · Gratosoglio
The menu changes quite frequently here based on the season, but you can expect the ingredients to be incredibly fresh. Just note that options for vegetarians (and especially vegans) can be limited here despite the restaurant’s large garden, as there’s a focus on meat and fish. Desserts like the poppy seed cake are especially good. -- FLAWLESSlife.
STÜSSY Store Milano
Clothing store · Quarto Oggiaro
Bosco Verticale
Housing development · Quarto Oggiaro
Mercato Centrale Milano

this historic market has recently undergone a major renovation and is now a vibrant food hall. It offers a wide variety of cuisines from around the world, and you can find here some historical (and prestigious) pastry shops and bakeries of Milan. -- Lake Como for You
Wagner Municipal Market
Market · Quarto Oggiaro
this historic market is one of the oldest in Milan, dating back to the 19th century. It offers a mix of traditional and modern stalls, selling everything from fresh produce and flowers to clothing and household goods. -- Lake Como for You
Mercato del suffragio
Market · Ortica
"This charming market is a hidden gem in the heart of Milan. It’s one of the first covered markets with a kitchen to open in the city, with tables for eating both inside and on the veranda. There are four corners to satisfy all cravings: bread and leavened goods, fresh pasta, carefully selected fish and meat. To be paired with a craft beer or a glass of organic wine." -- Lake Como for You
Pavé
Cake shop · Quarto Oggiaro
La Società Milano
Fine dining restaurant · Quarto Oggiaro
Situated near Porta Venezia and its lush gardens, Giulia and Andrea’s restaurant boasts a warm and original ambience. Three dining rooms adorned with tapestries and an entrance with a fine white marble fireplace act as the setting for Mediterranean cuisine with the occasional exotic twist. Don’t miss the amberjack caponata in which the ceviche flavours contrast with the sweetness of the fried breaded aubergine. -- Michelin Guide
Remulass
Bistro · Lambrate
“Cooking with roots” is the mantra at Remulass, a phrase that has inspired the restaurant’s name (“wild radish” in the local Milanese dialect). This small, lively restaurant gets very busy in the evenings when booking is highly recommended. The attractively modern and colourful dishes here always feature plenty of root vegetables and aromatic herbs. We recommend the fermented vegetables with baked ricotta and a gin dressing. - Michelin Guide
Trattoria La Pesa dal 1902
Lombardian restaurant · Musocco
real milanese food, not a tourist trap: - mondeghili (veal meatballs with tartar sauce) - cotoletta milanese - risotto - ossobuco
Villa Necchi Campiglio
Tourist attraction · Quarto Oggiaro
Villa Necchi Campiglio is a historic residence (house museum) located at via Mozart, 14, Milan. It was built between 1932 and 1935 as an independent single-family house designed by Piero Portaluppi, an important Milanese Rationalist architect, and is surrounded by a large private garden with a tennis court and swimming pool. This was the second swimming pool ever to be built in Milan after the municipal one, and the first to be built on private land.
Pan Milano
Bistro · Lambrate
Yoji Tokuyoshi, the former sous chef at the revered Osteria Francescana in Modena, about 100 miles south, opened Pan with the restaurateur Alice Yamada last April after the shokupan (Japanese milk bread) at Bentoteca, his Japanese fine dining restaurant in the Ticinese neighborhood, began to garner attention. Pan serves pastries and desserts made with a mix of European and Japanese techniques and flavors, like flaky miso cinnamon rolls, Basque-style matcha cheesecake and anpan, sweet rolls filled with red bean paste. There’s also lunch — and, on the weekends, brunch — with an ever-changing menu that has included dishes like avocado toast with poached eggs and spicy shichimi powder on shokupan; pappa al pomodoro, the traditional Tuscan tomato and bread stew; and omurice, a Japanese dish that combines an omelet with fried rice. The mint green interiors, designed by the local architecture firm Studio Wok, include a bar made of gridded fiberglass panels and rows of pale green textiles along the ceiling inspired by noren, the fabric room dividers commonly used in Japan. -- NYTimes
Via Stampa
Restaurant · Moncucco
Via Stampa is the first Milanese restaurant from the 28-year-old winemaker Marco Guzzetti, whose organic farm and winery, Podere del Maro, opened in Liguria in 2018. The 50-seat space overlooks the Roman-era Basilica San Lorenzo Maggiore in Cinque Vie, the city’s historic center, yet it feels more like a Parisian bistro than an Italian trattoria. The dining room features a carved wooden bar at the entrance, which opens up to an enfilade of sunlit rooms with white walls and pale parquet floors. The menu — just as pared back and elegant as the décor — focuses on small, seasonal plates that in the spring include fried artichokes with Parmesan fondue and mint, and ravioli stuffed with borage, an earthy tasting wild herb. - NYTimes

“At this restaurant in the Isola neighborhood, Chef Cesare Battisti, a Milan native, cooks up some of the city’s best authentically Milanese flavors, adding his own whimsical twist. His risotto alla Milanese (with saffron and bone marrow) is considered the best in town.” - Katie Parla Also down the street, check for the Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest).
Macelleria Popolare
Restaurant · Moncucco
“A dining destination for raw, roasted, braised and grilled meats expertly prepared and served to standing guests with an incredible selection of vino.” - Katie Parla Also great tiramisu and coffee.

“Down home, old school Milanese cuisine.” - Katie Parla
Bar Paradiso
Bar · Vigentino
They did a pop-up collab with Lucia Alimentari in NYC, and seem like dope people. Wine and small snacks on the menu: focaccia, mortadella, Italian pickled vegetables, ciauscolo sausage. Looks like a cool space.
