We ordered the squid ink hot dog, it’s quite unusual and tasty. It was very crunchy and cheesy (more than enough cheese to do a cheese pull haha) We also added on the jalapeño cheddar topping but I thought the corn dog is good by itself. The crust is a bit bitter but I didn’t mind

We were doing some shopping at H Mart and got hungry so afterwards we stopped by ZZanG Hot Dog. So many choices! But we ultimately ended up going with 3 options: the Squid Ink (mozzarella cheese and sausage inside), Mozza Sausage (half mozzarella cheese and half sausage inside) and lastly the Cheddar Mozza Sausage (mozzarella cheese and sausage with cheddar cheese). Everything was really good, I didn’t like the Squid Ink as much but my partner really liked it.

This restaurant is located inside the HMart, and is usually pretty busy but is worth the wait. The only non-meat options are the rice cake dog (which I have not gotten yet) and the mozzarella dog, which is great with or without potatoes. I would be happy to see a veggie dog at some point! Make sure to load up with sauces and toppings, they really make the experience.

I've been wanting to try korean corndogs and fortunately Myungrang wasn't too far. I ordered a bunch (way more than enough for 2 hungry adults) but they were all equally delicious. My fave, however, was the squid ink flavor paired with the sweet chili sauce! I can't say anything about customer server since the food was delivered to us via a food delivery app, but all items were packed well and nothing was missing!

service is a bit slow sometimes but it's understandable. wide variety of corn dogs such as the traditional mozzarella dog and more experimental ones like the squid ink dog, it really makes you want to try them all. great variety of sauces too !! the strawberry lemonade is a tad bit too sweet for my taste .. but i get it everytime anyways so it's definitely worth a try !! try the dogs with sugar coating and spicy cheddar ... you wont regret it <3

I've been going here for years. The corn dogs are literal perfection! My favorites are the premium sausage or mozza sausage with ketchup and sugar. Very filling and affordable price!

I got the mozzarella + sausage corn dog. Prices aren't too bad especially for the one I ordered, but some of the fancier corn dogs were a little more than I'd like to spend on a corn dog this size. I got sweet chili and a cheddar sauce, and I kind of wished I went for a classic ketchup/mustard because it was a little too sweet. The next time I go I'll keep it a little more simple and less sweet, especially because it's already sprinkled with sugar. Love the convenience of it being at the H Mart food court.

Perfect location in Balboa H Mart, so you can avoid shopping on an empty stomach. No line on a Wed afternoon. I chose the sweet potato cube cheese filled dog with lite sugar, honey butter and sweet chili sauce. Service wad kind, and thr dog was ready in under 10 min. Fun people watching of mostly couples, young and old, enjoying the multiple food options here. When they called my number on the loudspeaker, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Crispy on the outside, hot cheese pull for days on the inside, unique and colorful concoction. As the photos show, I scarfed the dog down in no time & look forward to returning whenever that rare corn dog craving strikes.

Sadly the quality has gone a bit downhill. The last couple of visits, I bit into it, and it was just a stick of cheese that was only half melted. If they work on their cooking times, I would come back, but half cooked cheese is not very appetizing

If you want korean hot dog, this is the spot. I actually like the giant shrimp stick. It reminds me of oahu.

Been coming here since 2020 & I've never been disappointed. I always get the cheddar mozzarella! It's nice to see new options added to the menu every time I come back. Although I am sad that they no longer have Sikhye drink I really enjoyed that. Service is good. And there is a lot of places to sit inside.

I love Korean corn dogs, and out of the places to get them in SD, I really enjoy this Zzang Hot Dog location in the H-Mart plaza in Convoy.   I've been a customer at this place for years, and I have always had a great experience. I've eaten my way through the entire menu, and from my perspective, the mozzarella corn dog is the absolute goat. The wait at this location is a hit or miss - best scenario you are waiting five minutes with no line or worst-case scenario you are waiting ten or twelve minutes with a line. Regardless, the corn dogs will be fresh as hell and HOT. I will take the wait if it means my food is fresh.   Feel free to judge... but I prefer my corn dog with no sauces LOL. Sugar is a MUST, and I always get parmesan cheese. My friends always load up their corndogs with sauces and they love them, so I am sure they are great.   Finding a seat to eat this location can be hard since there is a lot of foot traffic at H-Mart, but I never have to wait too long. On my most recent visit, there was an issue with my corn dog (wrong filling). Yarei took great care of me, and she quickly replaced the corn dog with a smile and kindness. Rather than make me want to avoid this place because of a mistake, this interaction makes me even more comfortable to return because I know the customer experience matters.   4.5/5 rounded up to a 5.

ZZanG Hot Dog at H-Mart is a must-visit spot if you're craving something delicious and unique! All of their Korean corn dogs are incredibly tasty, with a great variety of toppings to choose from. While some of the toppings can be a bit much, they still add to the overall flavor experience. The prices are reasonable, making it a good deal for a satisfying meal. Plus, the location inside H-Mart is perfect--grab lunch or dinner and then do your grocery shopping before or after you eat. If you haven't tried these corn dogs yet, you're missing out!

I was hopeful and wished I liked Zzang more. Unfortunately, Korean dogs are not my thing. The dogs were overly filling with too much mochi batter. Only the premium dog was beef. The other dog is some sort of sausage meat. Probably should've asked if I could customize the dog. We got a regular premium dog and the potato sausage. I added the onion garlic and Parmesan seasoning to the potato dog. Both covered in ketchup and mustard. I liked the premium meat dog and the outer crispy shell of the potato dog. If I had combined the two into just a single dog, I probably would've enjoyed it more. Couldn't finish all the batter on the premium dog and just finished eating the beef dog only. Really didn't the like sausage dog and only ate the remaining potato shell. Located inside H-Mart, tucked in the back corner Zzang is food court style dining. I decided to check this place out since I'm a fan of the Korean corn dogs. This location is in the Balboa H-Mart Store entrance area. This place was pretty popular, I put in my order and waited around 7 minutes. 1.Potato Mozza 2. Rice Cake (2) I also got 2 shrimp sticks, they do not appear to be on the regular menu. For each dog you can choose for each category: 1.Choose your Topping: Sugar or none 2.Choose your sauce: Ketchup, Mustard, Spicy Sweet Chili, Cheese Mustard, Cheddar Cheese, Hot spicy sauce, None 3.Choose your seasoning: Parmesan, Honey Butter, Cheddar cheese, None For the potato mozz, I chose just Honey butter and cheese seasoning. For both rice dogs, I chose only sugar. Review: Shrimp sticks were incredibly delicious, I hope they put these on the regular menu. These are just like fried shrimp sticks, outside was super crispy and inside was good flavor. They cooked these very well, not so crazy greasy and piping hot. 5/5 The Potato Mozz was good, I think the honey butter and cheese are a good mix for seasoning. This is like a giant mozzarella stick with potato cubes in the batter. I also like the only Mozz variation without the potatoes. 4.5/5 Rice Cake- these are absolutely my favorite. You'll be a fan if you like mochi. Crispy and hot on the outside (but not too greasy) and chewy rice cake inside. The sugar outside is a must. I think this would be the "Asian" replacement of a funnel cake at the fair. Service: 5/5 (They actually gave me the wrong one, but I just kept that one and they made another fresh one for me. These are very different compared to your regular American corn dog. We got half mozzarella cheese and half sausage for both. We decided to make one sweet and the other savory. Pleasantly surprised with both! I love how crispy they are because they use rice flour. This is the most popular place (there's three total places) and it's tucked in the corner. Super casual, it's inside of H Mart. The sitting area is pretty big and is usually full on weekends. It took about 15 minutes to get our food. Would definitely come back!

Food was delicious and the service was really good too, staff were very friendly and patient. I got the mozzarella hot dog with sugar, garlic powder, cheddar powder and chili sauce. YUM

Located inside the H Mart on Balboa Ave. Zzang is one of my must stops when I'm shopping here. The Korean style hot dog is one of my favorites. You can choose between meat and cheese or both! The best part is choosing what powder flavors and sauces to go along with it. I'm pretty basic with my hot dogs so I went with the classic corn dog with hot Cheetos,hot cheese and mustard. Super yummy.

3/23/24 - Saturday, here at open again at 10:30 am, I love this place. All the open seats were mine for the taking. We ordered a number 7 Mozzarella Sausage, number 3 the spicy premium pork, number 6 the potato triple and two shrimp sticks. About 10 minutes the goodness was upon us. Check out photos. 5 Stars again. Very consistent with the food.

I always get a craving for these hot dogs at the most random moments. I got the hot dog covered with potatoes and put some sweet chili sauce on it. It's so good and pretty affordable for how big it is. It gets pretty messy though so I would recommend to eat-in instead of ordering it to take home if you can. It's also so much better eating it right away! It's located inside of H-Mart in the food court area. Super convenient to get a quick bite to eat if you frequently shop there! There's also different options in the same food court so people in your group can choose different types of food.

I ordered the premium sausage hot dog and the potato sausage hot dog. The sausage itself was good for both. The potatoes on the outside of the potato sausage hot dog were nice and crispy. What I did not like was how much batter was used. It was a lot. That caused me not to enjoy the hot dog.

Dude!!!! The best gimmick and corn dog I've ever seen and tasted in my life. I'm not going to review these food extensively. You all just need to please for the love of God give this place a shot! Especially if you like corn dogs! Service is good, they're polite and nice. The place was pretty spotless clean as well! I love this place! This is like the yogurtland of corn dogs!

YESSSS! TG for Korean corn dogs. They are everywhere in Hawaii, but impossible to find in San Diego. Stumbled upon ZZanG in the HMart food court and was thrilled. I watched them make the corn dogs fresh and they smelled like perfection. They have cheese, hot dog, sausage and regular or potato. They also have a variety of dipping sauces you can choose from. Price is definitely reasonable with most clocking in around $5.

My rule of thumb is: don't go grocery-shopping when you're hungry. So, this is perfect! Yummy treat before grocery-shopping, check! It's part of the food court inside H Mart and it's right before you enter the grocery. There's plenty of tables & chairs for everyone. Service is fast, friendly.

Ridiculous experience... I ordered on their site and was hit with an "order missed" error... but was charged anyways???? I called and asked about it and to see if I ordered again if it would do that again and the person who answered spoke ZERO english and just said "yeah" 2 times and then hung up. Are you kidding??? I asked about the miss and they just said "yeah" with no explanation... i asked if its normal and that if i should put the order again and they just said "yeah" with nothing further and then hung up on me... I ordered again thinking 'well they at least communicated THAT' and the friggin thing missed AGAIN... was not gonna call back cause clearly the staff handling the phone cant properly communicate... unbeliaveble... charged twice for this...

poor-white-trash Seoul Food !!! where do I get in line? was at H Mart and feeling peckish so I strolled thru the food court and stopped at ZZanG HOT DOG for a Korean-style hotdog-on-a-stick. I've eaten at their Oceanside location and have already tried one of just about everything. I got the POTATO-SAUSAGE, a premium-beef sausage on a stick, dipped in batter, coated with potato cubes, deep-fried, rolled in sugar (optional), and squirted with sweet-chili and spicy sauces (ketchup, mustard, cheese mustard, and cheddar cheese are also available). hot, fresh, perfectly-executed-to-order, the kitchen did a brilliant job turning out product. service was friendly and courteous. the one shortfall, and it's a BIGGIE, is the quality of their "premium" beef sausage. I can't speak to the beef part, but the sausage just isn't very good. I'm something of a hot dog aficionado. I grew up poor and hot dogs were often the menu for a week (including hot dog chili and hot dog spaghetti and not just wrapped in a slice of Wonder Bread) with a fried bologna sandwich mixed in there somewhere for variety. for my money, and now that I have a little and can splurge, I like the Safeway Select, 1/4 pounders available at Von's. there are lots of local stores. ZZanG needs a hookup ...

Korean Hot/Corn Dogs are a guilty pleasure and really hit the spot when you're in the mood for a hotdog on a stick. Korean Hot Dog places like Zzang differ in that they have a lot of varieties that have cheese, no cheese, potato on the outside etc. Plus there are many toppings and sauces to choose from. Therefore the customization options are endless but at least on the menu they tell you what the "Chef's choice" is for the sauce/topping combo. Although I didn't get it on mine this time, the thing that I think makes the Korean Hot Dog unique is the added sugar on top. The combination of sweet and salty is unique and worth a try for sure. I've had it before and it's something I would get if I'm in the mood for vs. a more savory hot dog. I prefer to get the potato hot dogs because the added carbs helps to balance out a lot of the other added flavors.

So, if you know me, you know I don't really eat hot dogs. So, if you're reading this and your taste aligns with mine, here's an instance where we might just have to agree to disagree about this place ... My friend and I were hanging out at a nearby tea shop. Wanting to eat, but nothing heavy, somehow we ended up here. Might have been via Yelp. Not sure. I do know I've been here before. Even saw this hot dog joint as I ate an a neighboring stall. Anyway, lots of parking. Always seems to be busy though. You might have to walk but it's free. I know I once parked around the side but it's not so far away you can't see the entrance. So, it's in the food court. Jump in line. Order. Then go find a seat. Or, have someone find a seat or seats while you order so you have seating. I hate looking for or waiting for seats in busy food court situations. But, it wasn't so busy that evening and my friend and I found seating pretty easily. Listen for your number. It's loud there and several food stalls are calling out so pay attention. So, to the hot dog. Looks cool. Well, I had a sausage. I should clarify. It was ok. But I could smell my friend's hot dog. Something about the smell, I'll eat it if I'm hungry but if I'm not, it won't even touch my lips. I'll say the sausage was ok. Advertised as spicy. It's not. I thought that all the toppings might enhance the flavor, but to me, it appeared to just make it more photogenic. Maybe it was just the stigma of being a hot dog joint, though I didn't have one that leaves me leaving a "ok" review. Anyway, where we might disagree. I say OK though it's likely I'll never go back. Not even to try something else. So, it wasn't bad or that service was lousy. In fact, I ate the entire sausage. I'm just not a fan of hot dogs.

In terms of Korean corn dogs it's nothing spectacular but is still very yummy. Price wasn't too bad either for a corn dog. Came out fairly quickly and they had a variety of condiments to choose from. I recommend the sweet chili paired with any of the sauces. The cheese pull on the corn dog was also really good if that interests any of you.

Oh gosh! First time trying this. I've seen these on Instagram posts for a long time so now it's my turn... Oooey, gooey, goodness!!! When it's hot, it's perfect!!! So much cheesy goodness! It's very filling too so I'm glad I shared it with my hubby! Now I know what's it's all about! LOL

I've been here before. A few times. But Im just now writing a review. Well deserved. There should be a Zzang near where I live lol. I've tried other Korean corn dogs but I have to say this is the best. So far. Prices are fair. The workers are really fast and service is good. It's located inside of hmart. I choose different Corn dogs each time. And they never disappoint. Always fresh! Let me repeat, ALWAYS FRESH! and I really love that. One is enough, but if I'm feeling greedy, I have two lol I'm going to keep coming back. Thanks for making my Korean Corn dog experience the best one I've had. Keep up the good work.

I'd like to start my review by stating that , Zzang has the best strawberry lemonade I ever had . Wow , it's very delicious. This fun spot Is located in the food court of Hmart . And let me tell you I'm now the biggest fan of Korean corn dogs . There are so many choices of corn dogs you can make . The sky is the limit. There are a lot of variations and toppings you can choose. If they used higher quality hotdogs I would of easily given them 5 stars . I love that you can get half hotdog have cheese on a stick . The combination is amazing . I'm really stoked on this place !

I wouldn't consider these sausages-on-a-stick to be corn dogs because the breading is made with rice rather than corn. But "rice dog" doesn't have quite the ring that "corn dog" does. Nonetheless, these rice/corn dogs are heckin' good and just as good is the sub-ten-dollar prices. ZzanG is perfect for small budgets, portion control, and/or those looking for big flavor for the buck. Pro-tip: When in Rome, do as the Romans do and have your dog coated in sugar.

Delicious Korean corndogs. Not too pricey and a variety of options to choose from. Something about sugar on top of a salty food just hits different. There's lots of toppings/sauces to choose from as well. I recommend the potato covered corndog. Food takes a little while to come out because it's made fresh.

I've loved this Korean style hot dog restaurant since they opened a few years ago. They've changed their name and the menu a bit since they opened, but the majority of the items are still on the menu and they've added new items. If you like corn dogs, then you need to check this place out. The crunch is incredible and the flavors are so different than any other hot dogs. Even if you don't want a hot dog, there are just cheese options available. There is something for everyone. I personally love the cheddar sausage hot dog, it's my favorite and adding the honey butter powder and cheddar cheese powder makes it amazing! The spicy dog, is good, but used to better, the quality of the meat is not the same and the spice is now less spicy. I have enjoyed the potato mozzarella hot dog as well, but to be honest, it's so huge I don't enjoy it as much as the simpler items. This is somewhere I consistently visit as the hot dogs are insanely delicious. My one gripe is that the employees are no longer friendly, welcoming and depending on who you get, you don't get the powers sprinkled on both sides of your hot dog. Friendliness and consistency would increase my rating to a 5 star.

Wow the selection of Korean hot dogs here is fantastic! I didn't know what to expect as I've never had a Korean Corndog but I was so surprised. The original is only 2.95 and it's massive and filling! Get the sugar on top it makes it really slap! The inside of this food court is really really nice. We got the sweet potato cheese dog, the original and the potato sausage, all the dogs were incredible. This place deserves every acolade it gets.

Delicious Korean corn dogs, but what made my experience much more enjoyable was the excellent customer service by "Junior" at the helm. He made a slight mistake on my order, which I didn't even realize until he walked up to me and pointed it out, and offered to make it right by letting me keep the corn dog, having the cooks make me a new one as I had originally ordered it, and gifted me a free soda. He owned up to his mistake, and that alone says all you need to know. I'm not a San Diego resident, but I usually go to H Mart with my girlfriend whenever we visit San Diego, and we'll definitely be stopping by here more often. We both loved our food, btw. The sweet chili sauce on the dogs is a must.

I read someone said this was the best corn dog they ever had... I say they need to get out more... I waited 20 min for a single (ONE) corn dog, the basic one, nothing fancy... it was not worth the wait. The batter is gooey on the inside side, like uncooked.. im can only assume that's on purpose? It's a novel idea (least here in the US) - i'll give them that.. but i see a couple others like this style here in this particular neighborhood... probably a Claremont thing :)

ZZanG is located at the food court in Hmart. It is definitely the most popular option here and there was a long line! Although the line was long, it went by very fast and the food came out quickly. I ordered the potato triple, which is a good choice if you are indecisive because it has a combination of everything! I got to try the cheese, sausage, and potato all in one order. This is super filling and although I came for a little snack, this would be a sufficient meal for me. Overall, a great snack after grabbing some groceries.

Cool little place inside of H-mart. I ordered the 8 (All Mozza) and 10 (Cheddar Mozza) Had them rolled in sugar and had cheddar cheese and sweet thai chili sauce on the side. It took about 15 minutes which I thought was a bit long for fried cheese and a short line. But none the less, they were good....I'll be back!

Stopped by here today, been wanting to try this spot since my son loves hotdogs/corn dogs. It is located inside H Mart. The parking lot is big but kinda packed. I've never been to H Mart so that was also a first. When you walk in the food court is to the left. They have high chairs but you are unable to take your shopping cart in. There's multiple different restaurants. The line was pretty quick. The cashier was quick but seemed like she was not in the mood. The corn dog portions are pretty big. The batter was pretty thick & doughy. We ordered the spicy corn dog for myself, the potato hot dog for my son, & my friend ordered a plain one. They have different toppings & powders you can put on em. I had them rolled in sugar. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade which was really good. 3 stars because I had a lot of expectations for it. But there's just too much hype surrounding it. Lol. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat this again but I would get it for my son if we were to be shopping inside H Mart.

I came here on a weeknight. There wasn't much of a wait to order. I got the cheddar mozzarella stick. After ordering, there was a wait for my Korean style corn dog to be ready as there were only two people working. When my corn dog was ready, I was called up to pick my seasoning. I chose to do all of the seasonings and added the cheese mustard sauce. My cheddar mozzarella stick was so delicious. The outside was crunchy and the inside was filled with delicious melted cheese. I am a definite fan and would come back!

This is located in Hmart and we were excited to grab some as we weren't too hungry but wanted a small meal. The line was pretty long but they go by pretty fast. We order 2 potato mozzarella dog, one with sugar and one without as well as the cereal one. The crunch was definitely there. We all like the cereal one the best as it has a nice crunch and flavor was good. I'm knocking it down a few Stars because the dough wasn't fully cook inside of the potato ones and the cheese pull was not there. We all tried to do the cheese pull but not sure if they use a different type of cheese but we couldn't do it. Price is pretty good and portion is good as well. Overall, I had better but it was good

We ATE this up. I got the potato triple and my friend got the potato sausage. This is probably the BEST korean corn dog I've ever had. We also got the Tteok-Bokki, which had a KICK, but was so good and chewy! Dipping the corn dog in the tteok sauce was DELICIOUS. The popcorn chicken was super crispy and juicy, and was extraordinary when we dipped it, again, in the tteok sauce. Would definitely come down to San Diego to eat here.

Literally obsessed with how good these were. I suggest getting the Korean corn dogs coated with white sugar for a sweet and salty balance. I love how customizable the options were, from hot dogs to cheese types to the sauces that goes on top.

I've been wanting to try Korean corn dogs and we found this cute little place tucked inside of H Mart grocery store. It's inside the little food court of the grocery store. The corn dogs were amazing! You can pick potato, cheese or a hotdog and have it smothered in different kinds of sauces and toppings. We got the cheese stick with baked Cheetos hot powder and squid ink, half cheese, half hotdog, smothered in cheese sauce and all kinds of yumminess. They were huge and filling.

The main reason we were in this part of town was to visit HMart. So it only made sense to shop here for lunch as well... Shop "for something completely different" as they say! We had never tried anything from here and despite the long line our order was worth it! We decided to try the Potato Sausage, Triple and Sweet Potato Mozza's and were not disappointed. Something new to our taste buds felt familiar as the combination of flavors somehow made sense in these concoctions. Do yourself a favor and check them out. Your taste buds will thank you!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE KOREAN CORNDOGS! This place is located inside Hmart's food court (back corner). It looks small and cute. It gets busy at times, but worth the wait! Despite it takes quite a bit to be ready, it comes out always fresh and delicious every time! I got the sausage with potatoes. Personally I don't like sugar on mines (but you can add sugar if you'd like - based on personally preference!) they have a variety of sauces and definitely is hard to choose which ones. The staff was kind and understanding with my peanut / tree nut allergies and confirmed it was ok! Overall, great experience, staff was kind, place was neat, and food was delicious! Would recommend!

ZZanG is located inside of the H Mart, in their mini food court. There are plenty of options that have unique combinations for their rice dogs on the menu. My partner is a vegetarian, so we really appreciate the cheese options (cheddar and mozzarella). Our favorites would have to be the potato mozzarella, the cheddar mozzarella, and the sweet potato mozzarella. Service can be slow at times, as each rice dog is made to order, but it is well worth it. The food is decently portioned, and has always come out fresh and perfectly fried. You have the option to have the rice dogs dusted with sugar or not (we prefer no sugar), and there are a ton of sauce choices that are offered upon pickup! A spot worth trying, but be prepared for a wait!

This place has one specialty and they do it well: Korean style corndogs!!! I'm a big fan ever since my friend introduced me to it while we were grabbing some soju from the hmart that it nearby. They specialize in one product, and there are a few different configurations that you can purchase, including different types of crust and hotdog inside or cheese. Atmosphere: 4/5 This is in a food court, so there's really not much to evaluate off of. There's no table service at all and your table is as clean as the last person left it. If you have concerns about social distancing I would probably recommend you to not eat in and instead take out. Service: 4/5 It's super easy to order your desired item, everything is numbered, and when you pick up your hot dog / cheese, they also have specified sauce combos that are numbered as well. So the process is streamlined. However, it does take a significant amount of time to wait for your items to be ready, so be prepared for that. Taste: 5/5 I was surprised at how delicious it was! I got the everything combo which was like half hot dog and half cheese. It was super filling for just a single item. I think if I'm going to go back, I would order the cheese over the hot dog, but I really think it's just down to personal preference. Overall, I think this is a great place to go if you are craving hot dogs or corn dogs of any sort since I think this version is way better than normal hot dogs. However, the price does go up correspondingly so if you're on a budget maybe Costco hot dogs will be your go to. 5/5
