"Paradeplatz's Iconic Beer Hall Sure, the menu comes in a dozen languages, but Zeughauskeller is no mere tourist trap. Occupying a 15th century building on Paradeplatz, the setting—arched windows, wooden ceiling beams and stone columns—is transportive, while traditional dishes include the Bürgermeister Schwert (veal steaks pounded thin and wrapped around a long sword blade and grilled). The house beer is an exclusive from the local TurbinenBräu brewery."

DEFINITELY MAKE RESERVATIONS! I had a wonderful second experience at this restaurant. This time I went all in on the Mayor's Sword and the Flaming Beer. Personally I found the Mayor's Sword meat not totally up to snuff and next time I will go back to the schnitzel which was very good the first time I was there. The flaming beer is a nice gimmick and a cool show but the beer itself was good but I wouldn't write home about it. Great idea for a party group though. The house beer however was excellent! Really enjoyed that. Over 8.5/10 just for the ambiance alone which being a history nerd I'm all in for. Definitely one of the best places in Zurich to go for dinner!

Easily the most famous Swiss Beer Hall in Zürich. Very similar to the traditional beer hall in Germany in that there are shared tables, traditional comfort food, quick service, and lots of great beer. We made reservations for our 7:30 dinner which I would recommend because the line for walk-ins was very long when we arrived. Inside is very large, it can host many different sized groups, you can easily find a group of a dozen or more at a table, but we were just a party of two and were sat at a table for 4 with another couple so there is a bit of awkwardness there, but it is nice to sit near other travelers. That is if they are in a talking mood or speak the same language. Our waiter was extremely polite and very helpful with the selections and pricing is also very fair. To drink we had the house lager and it was very good. For our meal, we chose the Sausage Combo Plate and the Wienerschnitzel and honestly both were great. The Wienerschnitzel was especially tender and very large and I was able to eat every bite of it because it was that good. The sausages were also very crisp and tasty and we honestly really enjoyed our meal. It is true that this place is very touristy, but it is also very authentic, traditional Swiss food, but reminds me of Germany most of all and is very similar to the beer halls that we visited in Munich. I would definitely recommend to any traveler to try this place at least once while in town.

One of (if not the) oldest pubs still operating in Zurich! The place was packed with the lunch crowd so there is a bit of a wait. The food is delicious, the menu shows a nice introduction to the variety of Swiss food. Serving sizes are huge! And I really loved their Iced Tea.

The service staff were excellent and efficient. They were also friendly and made suggestions. The food was excellent. Just make sure to arrive early as the place gets packed very quickly especially if you do not have reservations. My favorite was definitely the veal in cream sauce with rosti. The sausage was delicious especially with mustard (chef's kiss). I highly recommend to try a dine at Zeughauskeller on your Zurich trip. Just be early, preferably before it opens.

Best food we had in Germany. Roast duck, all the sausages, liver pate soup, salmon, and the schnitzel were wonderful. The beer was, of course, tasty as well. Service was top notch- patient with our English- and they treated us well even when we got there 20 minutes until the kitchen closed.

A historical pub right at the heart of Zurich, close to all shopping centers, lake and point of interest. We were there on weekdays for lunch, got seats without any waiting. The food was tasty but too salty, the waiters were cold and all business like. It was nice to have an atmosphere full of old fashioned decoration.

Yes, it is a very popular place and yes, we did not like it! The service was not particularly friendly, the menu offer food that is allegedly Swiss specialties- probably this is the case although I don’t know why they offer the Wiener schnitzel! Anyway, later I had some problems to digest the brown sauce together with my sausage (that should have contained pistachio apparently, though we could not taste). It is full of mainly tourists and you need to queue. The prices are aligned with those in the city. I don’t recommend.

A nice atmosphere restaurant that comes with rich history, dates by to 15th century. The food is great too! Definitely worth a visit if you are into history and food.
