Yum Cha: A Charming Dim Sum Spot with High-Quality Offerings Yum Cha is a historic dim sum establishment serving delightful, high-quality dim sum at reasonable prices. Tucked away on the second floor of a shophouse in the heart of Chinatown, this place exudes charm with its traditional Chinese décor, offering a nostalgic and authentic dining experience. While the dim sum menu is not the most extensive, every dish we tried was excellent. Their xiao long bao is probably the second best after Din Tai Fung, featuring delicate skins and flavorful broth. The scallop dumpling was a unique and refined novelty, while the truffle mushroom bao had a perfectly balanced, aromatic filling. We also loved their prawn siew mai, which were exceptionally meaty and satisfying. To finish, we tried their pineapple tarts, which were buttery and rich, with a creamy filling enhanced by golden raisins. The adorable lion and pineapple-shaped designs added a festive and auspicious touch. Overall, Yum Cha is a must-visit for dim sum lovers, offering a classic yet refined experience in a beautifully nostalgic setting.

Taking advantage of selected range of dim sum price at only $2.4 per serving for a limited period of time. We visited Yam Cha at Chinatown after reading a review from a popular food blogger. Our first impression is the bright red signage and once inside, it’s a typical old school type of Chinese restaurant with a pleasant environment. We concluded that quality of the dim sum was above average however must give credit to its creativity. The mix of young and elderly staff were attentive and helpful. We’re generally pleased with the overall dining experience here.

I would like to compliment Ms Mei for her outstanding service. Her professionalism, helpful attitude, and genuine care made a great impression. $79 for 3 adults, 1 kid and we left feeling hungry still. Only thing worth ordering is the congee. - Chicken claw: way too spicy and meat was really little - Siew mai: so-so. The waitress literally threw the Siew Mai on our table and then exclaimed “so hot!” Until one Siew Mai rolled on its side lol - beancurd: not nice - mushroom dumpling: also not nice - Chee Cheong fun: the pork is so tough - Malay cake: too sweet - congee: yummy Not sure why this place is so popular even though the taste is bad and the price so expensive. Suspect it’s all the tourists that raised the review maybe. Would not recommend at all.

We went here to celebrate my friend birthday on Saturday, long queueing but the queue is moving fast & we waited for 15 minutes only. Overall worth having dim sum over here
