"There are yoga studios that teach you to stretch and strengthen, and then there are yoga studios that seem to give you the tools to master mind and body. Lincoln Park’s Yogaview definitely falls into the latter. That’s due to thoughtfully-led classes taught by instructors who somehow manage plenty of individual attention, even in group classes, especially beginner sessions so newbies develop a strong foundation of basics. The expansive studio itself is a calming mix of exposed brick, high wood-beamed ceilings, and warm, soft lighting."

Let me be clear that I did not take a yoga class here. I had an elemental sound bath with Josa Goodlife, an Icelandic energy healer sponsored by Blue Lagoon and Icelandic Provisions here. I took a quick tour of the facility before and after my sound bath and found it to be very clean and inviting. Yoga classes were packed and everyone seemed to be having a great workout. I want to check them out in the future by taking a yoga class.

Yogaview is a really special studio and community. I bumped around for years trying out different studios and teachers but once I found Yogaview I felt like I'd come home :) All of the teachers are extremely knowledgeable and experienced. They bring in the best teachers from around the world for amazing workshops. The students are dedicated to their practice and a joy to practice alongside. If you haven't been to Yogaview before, go now! Seriously, close your device and go take a class :)

I had to cancel a workshop I booked 3 weeks before the date, unfortunately the studio chose to charge me with 10% “admin fees”. This is quite unusual in the yoga community usually there is a time period when a customer can cancel with no extra fees. I ended up paying 45$ in order to cancel a workshop I ordered a few days ago!

This is the best studio in Chicago! yogaview was one of the first studios to be in Chicago, along with Yoga Circle, Moksha, etc. Ahead of its class, yogaview offers great classes to beginners, intermediate and advanced yogis. It's a great place for beginners, because all of the staff and teachers are passionate about healthy yoga, but also for advanced practitioners, because the teachers offer modifications and alternate poses if you are further along in your practice. Definitely recommend, and although I have moved out of Chicago, yogaview will ALWAYS be my home studio!

Google
Yogaview has so many experienced and knowledgeable teachers! I have learned so much since I started practicing here. I love that there is so much variety too. Anatomy based, flow based, gentle or a mix, there is always a class for my mood. I would recommend this studio to any one, whether they are looking to start yoga for the first time, have been practicing or even teaching for 20 years, and everyone in between!

I love Yogaview! The teachers are knowledgeable and take care with their students. They remember your name after only taking one class! It's a nice community of good people. Not to mention, they have a great selection of yoga retail ;) showers, changing rooms and massage offerings.

Google
This studio is a blessing to the city. The space is lovely and has a very warm and safe feeling. Shout out to Dorie for being a brilliant teacher! Highly recommend this studio for yogis and any curious folks. The community classes would be a great way for someone who is inexperienced to dip their toe into yoga and mindfulness. Tens across the board!!

Google
Yogaview is considered by many to be one of the top yoga studios in Chicago, and with good reason: the teachers are good. In fact, often the beginner classes are taught by the most experienced. This location is new - they used to be on Division and I was annoyed that they moved to a less pedestrian-friendly location - which is why I don't come much anymore, but the new studio is much more spacious. On the occasion I do come, I always walk away feeling calmer and more at ease.

Yelp
Beautiful space. Good variety of classes and times. Small parking lot available. It is also very clean!

Yelp
Yogaview is a warm and welcoming studio. They are full of highly regarded and experienced instructors. They continuously host special guests for their workshops. I am a huge fan of their "instructor deep" Mysore community. Thanks Tom & Quinn for your dedication.

Yelp
What I discovered is this studio has something for everyone. I enjoy the level 1 classes the most. They are smaller size and pay close attention to alignment, pranayama, and hands on correction. My absolute favorite is Alie McManus. I not such a fan of the level 2 classes I took. The music is too loud, to the point where I strained to hear the instructor, and I am not into playlists when I'm doing yoga. Seems cross purpose to me. I sweated buckets in these classes, but that's not what I'm looking for. In the end, they were too close to gym yoga to me. In my opinion, just doing too much without enough resting poses. But I understand, some people like this! The vibe is cool here, and the staff/instructors are friendly.

Yelp
I took a 6:15pm Level 2 class one night last week. I was so excited to try Yogaview for the first time, because it's been popping up frequently on my ClassPass app. I often attend hot yoga classes at another studio that's also in Lincoln Park, but I was so curious to step through those Yogaview doors and check out the skyline view from the studio at night. I wasn't fully disappointed in my experience, but it didn't blow me away and I probably won't come back for another class. I rarely write reviews that are less than 4 stars, so I'll get specific and break it down. I'll start with the best parts. THE GOOD: - One of the women up front gave me a tour after I said it was my first time at the studio. This was not not the main front desk girl, but instead an instructor who happened to be behind the desk. More details on that below. - The instructor I had for the night, Kelly Tahini, was fabulous. She stayed after to talk with me after I let her know that her class was fun and challenging. I loved her. - The class Level 2 class was, as I said, was challenging and the music was relaxing. If you're great at yoga, go for it. This is definitely a workout! - The space is absolutely gorgeous. You can see the skyline from the lobby. I believe you can see the skyline from one of the studios, too, but I'm not sure, because I sadly was in one of the other studios not facing the skyline. - It smells so good in here. There is incense burning in all the studios, so the whole place smells calming. - There are plenty of free amenities, like mats and water stations to refill your bottles, plus a few changing rooms, and plenty of restrooms. - There's free street parking nearby. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ THE DISAPPOINTING PARTS: - Parking: Upon arrival, I was initially excited to see that there was a parking lot. After driving through the lot, I noticed all signs pertaining to YogaSquad said "staff only." Then outside the front door, I read a sign saying people could park in the lot during certain hours. I'm still confused as to whether or not students can park in the lot, and if so, can we park only in the Yogaview-designated spots? - Check-in: When I arrived around 5:50, there was a sign-in sheet on the counter. The girl behind the counter said, "Are you here for 6pm?" I said, "nope, 6:15." And she said, "oh," and nodded at the empty sign-in sheet for 6:15 class. I signed in and didn't say anything else, but felt awkward -- usually at other studios, whoever's behind the desk asks if you've been there before or if you need anything before class. This didn't happen here, and there are a lot of doors, so I truly didn't know where to go, or which studio I'd be in. I aimlessly walked toward the studios, then hung my coat up. Then, I noticed changing rooms near the coat rack. By the time I'd changed, there was someone else behind the counter, so I told her it was my first time there. She said, "Did you buy a class online?" and girl who I'd seen before said, "she's with ClassPass," and they both were like, "oh." I'm all for hearing about pricing deals, but I guess if you sign up with ClassPass they don't offer deals, maybe. After that, the other woman, who I think was an instructor, gave me a detailed tour, which was really sweet. This woman was really nice, but I felt pretty unwelcome by the other person behind the desk, so I didn't venture back out to the lobby 'til after class. - The studio where class was held: It shared a wall with other businesses in the building, which I learned during the last few minutes of class. When the class was taking our final breaths and soaking up all of our hard work, there were men rolling trashcans and bantering in the hall. It was the least relaxing final savasana I've experienced in a while. I'm not sure if class is rarely held in there, but soundproofing that area near the door that leads to the hall could make a huge difference. Also, the view was what I was most excited about when it came to choosing this studio, but unfortunately I didn't choose the class that was in the studio with the best view. That was fine, I knew I couldn't control that, but the noise + parking lot view together ended up making me feel pretty disappointed. - Lastly, someone came into class about 10 minutes late, dropped her mat, unzipped her coat loudly, dropped her bag loudly, stomped across the floor, and totally got ready and adjusted pretty well after we'd already begun. I know people are encouraged to bring their valuables into the studios so they stay safe, but I think that was a little much and I kind of wish there was a better protocol on not allowing that kind of thing to happen. As I said before, I'm not sure if I'd come back. Maybe if I sign up for a class in the future and I know I can see the skyline, or if I take a step back and consider that the girl behind the desk might've been having a bad night that night, I'll give Yogaview another try.

Yelp
Real yoga. Spiritual yoga. True yogis. The real deal. Love this place. Amazing instructors....amazing space, retail area. Ashtanga, vinyasa glow, beginners, Medium, advanced practitioners....they have something to suit everyone. Amazing amazing best yoga in Chicago

Yelp
This yoga studio is beautiful. Large, spacious studios, sedated, soothing colors, hardwood floors, the works. The desk staff was very friendly and helped us get signed up for class. Regular classes are now $16, students are $12. It's kept nice and toasty warm (it was about 3 degrees out), which was welcome... There are plenty of mats for use for those that do not have one, or forgot...ample storage space for belongings, and several changing rooms that are totally private (no little curtain thing). My only complaint was that we couldn't see the beautiful view out of the studio because the class before us got all sweaty and fogged the place up! However, I'll be back to check it out again... Also, parking at this location is very easy. Street parking is plentiful, the upper deck of the Kohl's structure is free, and after 5:30pm you can park in the retail lot at the building...

Yelp
I've noticed there is a lot of hype around YogaView because they are a hub for some of the "best teachers in Chicago", however most of the classes there I would call "okay" and their customer service and accuracy of marketing is terrible. One of my first experiences at YogaView was attending a workshop with Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor. The workshop was advertised as a backbend/breathing workshop but in reality it was sitting on the floor (not moving) for hours and listening to Richard Freeman pontificate about breathing and chanting. I expressed my frustration about this to YogaView via email and got no response (I wasn't even asking for my $70 back!). Another time when I returned to YogaView I was using ClassPass. When I arrived I gave the lady at the front desk my name, told her I was using Class Pass and she said I was all set and sent be back to the studio. The next day I got a phone call saying that I never paid for the class. To be fair, I may have messed up my Class Pass registration- but instead of telling me this at the door they said I was "all set" and then later demanded that I pay a full priced drop in for the class. After emailing back and forth with multiple people (and having to re-explain the situation due to different people emailing me) we agreed that I could sign-in to a class with the same teacher (not attend) and they would sign me in as payment- so I did this and was told the issue was resolved. Now, over 1 month later I am getting emails from the studio AGAIN saying that I didn't pay for that class. In my experience a business that wants to practice decent customer service would have let it go or at least properly documented the resolution. Given these frustrating experiences, the okay yoga classes, and the over used/wet yoga mats and props YogaView will not be a place a return to in a hurry. Although I must say, there space is really beautiful.

Yelp
Very nicely decorated, clean, and serene studio. There's a beautiful view of the skyline from the studio window too. Love that this location has a parking lot, there's a list of which spots you can and can't park in before 5:30 pm, after 5:30 I think you can park in any spot. Staff was professional and friendly. A single class will run you $16. The instructor I had (Jenn) was good except for the fact that she needed to speak up a little bit. She would speak so softly that half the class wouldn't hear her and half the people would be doing one pose while the other half never heard her and were still doing the previous pose--which was kind of funny. Room was kept nice and warm and lighting was turned down toward end of class. You can bring your belongings into the actual room, there's are storage cubes, so you don't have to worry about your keys and wallet. I highly recommend this studio.

Yelp
I've been practicing yoga for about 9 years and have had a hard time finding a good studio in the Chicagoland area once my favorite teachers at Northshore Yoga left. What I like the most is the amount of Level 2 classes offered. Many studios don't have enough Level 2 classes and often they're taught more at a Level 1-2 than a 2. The teachers here come up with creative sequences and some give hands on adjustments. Another benefit of this studio is that the class packages do not expire for a year. I live closer to Moksha yoga than I do Yogaview but the packages at Moksha expire so quickly, I end up losing money. The studio is a bit hidden. There is a parking lot on the northeast corner of the intersection. You can access the door to the studio from the parking lot, but cannot park in the lot. There is plenty of free street parking on both Elston and Webster.

Yelp
My favorite thing about Yoga View is the studio. The studio is beautiful, I have practiced at a ton of studios throughout the city and esthetically this studio is one of my favorites. The exposed brick and all wood flooring with high wooden beams that extend into the high ceilings is perfect for yoga. The classes were varied that I attended and I did enjoy them, they were very different depending on the instructor. The reason for the 4 star rating is the price...it's very expensive, for one class is $20 and for a month is $160, for me it's not financially possible to attend here regularly. I guess your paying for their facilities, they also have nice private bathrooms with showers. The teachers here seem to be authentic and really teaching yoga for the right reasons. I do enjoy my time here and will pop in from time to time, probably on Sunday for their community class :) I have also attended their free meditation on Friday in the early afternoon, it's difficult to find meditations at yoga studios in Chicago this is one of the few that offer a meditation at the studio-kudos

Yelp
Awesome vibe and very clearly run by professionals who know their stuff. I tried the Level 2 class and it was informative, uptempo and extremely inspiring for an avid yogi. If you are looking to mix up your routine and learn a thing or two, check this place out. It's located on an industrial looking corner of Avondale with plenty of free street parking, and the space itself is immaculate. Highly recommend!!

Lulu H.

Yelp
This is my favorite yoga studio in Chicago. The space is beautiful, with 3 light-filled studios and genuine hardwood floors. The staff and community are friendly and dedicated yogis. The classes I love are alignment-focused, though there are a wide variety of styles and teachers from which to select. I love that Yogaview offers genuine level 2 and 3 classes for more experienced practitioners. Many other studios' level 2-3 classes use no sanskrit and assume no practice/asana experience (so you are always going backwards and listening to information that should already be known at that level). I would go here everyday if it were closer to my place downtown. For now, I just go on weekends.

Tom A.

Yelp
I've been going here on and off for a few years. There is almost no actual instruction, just saying the poses, for the most part, and I've had very little tactile "corrections" from any teachers (I'm tempted to put that in quotes, "teachers"). They do the thing where they say "and now if you are working on handstands come into handstand" (or headstand, or wheel pose, or whatever) and I don't understand how people are supposed to learn these poses other than just sort of guessing or looking around the room [hint: go to Yoga Circle]. Most teachers play music really loud, often to the detriment of being able to hear them. And who decided Dave Matthews and U2 were yoga-appropriate music? Overcrowding is a big problem, sometimes. It would be helpful if the teachers arrived a little early and helped set up the room so everyone has space. A lot of the men don't wear shirts. Is this OK? Last time I was in the teacher had us doing situps. Can I benefit from some situps? You betchya. Is it yoga? Well... Bottom line here is these classes are pretty much just sweaty gym classes. I go here cus I'd rather go here than an actual sweaty gym. You can get a great workout but not much instruction. Be sure to understand yourself enough that you don't get injured.

Yelp
I'm cheating on my old yoga studio. But those long distance relationships never work out... you know how it goes. I know I said I'd never love another studio as I loved Tranquil Space. I stand corrected. Sorry old studio, I'm with yogaview now. Beautiful space, wonderful teachers, amazing practitioners. I didn't feel like an outsider crashing the party here. They were generally happy to see me and it wasn't in the "wow, we are SO glad you're here with us today-followed by overly toothy grin," kind of way. Kudos to Dorie for her class. She modified it to fit the class and her visual instruction did wonders for the poses I have yet to feel confident in. I found myself easily doing things that I struggled through before. It's a little far from the El, not ideal for the car-less among us, but definitely worth the trek. Just go.

Yelp
Hands down the most amazing yoga studio for someone looking for the mind, body, spirit connection. If you are in town visiting, you live here, or if you just moved here I would highly, highly recommend Yogaview. Both the location on Elston (Lincoln Park) and the Division studio (Wicker Park) are the best. The teachers are fantastic. The temperature for most classes is 75 or 80 (Mostly Not Hot Yoga). The Yoga Circle is also a great option but the parking there can be tough if you're not taking public transportation. Parking is easy at both yogaview locations. Also a great place for highly qualified private yoga instruction. A few of the most fantastic teachers, and this is only a short list because they are all wonderful are: Tom, Quinn, Geri, Clair, Nadine, Dori, Molly, Erica, David, Rich, Michael, Nicole, Sara S. and Wade. These are the teachers I have the most experience with and can tell you that they are amazing in the care and quality of their teaching. I am grateful every day I get to see one of them and you will be too. If you want a class that has fewer people and more hands-on, just call and the manager or person who answers the phone tells you exactly what class to go to and which ones to dodge if you're trying to avoid a big crowd, or trying to target a certain pace of class. They are very helpful and kind. After my first day here more than a year ago I knew this would be a place where I'd visit as often as possible. It's like a second home to me now. The community is fantastic, the yoga space is ideal and I just can't say enough about the quality of the instruction and care. My best experience living in Chicago after 13 years of being here hands down!

Jerry M.

Yelp
I have been looking far and wide for a yoga class for my particular limitations and I found it here at Yogaview! Gentle Yoga with Alie on Tuesday nights has been a blessing for me after having repeated injuries - I don't want to give up yoga, but I can no longer do the challenging classes after my latest injury. They supply mats and other supplies - pluses in my book! I hate it when studios charge you to use these. And the student discount is the best I've seen so far - only 10 bucks at this time! (my usual studio charges 13). It is far from most public transportation and they don't accept credit cards - the only 2 negatives!

Tina B.

Yelp
I have checked out several yoga studios in the city and am glad to have settled on Yogaview. The staff is very friendly. I like that there is always a variety of times/classes being offered. The have a lot of workshops as well that let you get further into your practice. I personally love Dorie's classes. UPDATE: Yogaview has moved to a new space. It's gorgeous!!! Lots of parking available. And they have a view again!

CM D.

Yelp
Disappointing. Much more of a workout than a yoga class - the teacher moved quickly from pose to pose, no suggestions for modifications, and seemingly no awareness that many people in the class were having trouble with the poses. A very nice space, but I don't think I'll be back. I can get the same level of instructor involvement from a DVD, and I won't have to put up with an overcrowded room.

Chi N.

Yelp
I am what people in Illinois call a "reverse commuter" that is, someone who works in the burbs and drives 30 something miles back to the city everyday. Conveniently located right off of the Fullerton exit on the high way, Yogaview is pretty much saving my spine from the cruel effects of highway driving. Not only have I been enjoying the convenience factor of this loft inspired studio, but I am also becoming a huge fan of its many no frills, well versed instructors. When I was combing through reviews on Yogaview, someone else described this place as "a yogis yoga studio;" I certainly would have to agree. At yogaview I have been pleased by the lack of "wandering eyes" from other students (how nice that people keep their attention focused on themselves), and especially by the attentive, relaxed nature of the instructors. My fav's so far: Lourdes and AJ. Street parking is not much of an issue and the lot outside the studio is availible on weekends....worth trying!

Stephen D.

Yelp
I'll be brutally honest--about myself--here. . .I'm doughy, have short limbs and am barrel chested. In other words, I'm exactly the opposite of what you imagine when you think of a yogi. Still, I grunt, sweat and fight my way through a few yoga classes a week. And I love it! Anyways, it can be kind of intimidating to walk into a Yoga studio and be one of the few aforementioned doughy (if not adorable) boys in the class. Which is why, I've become a big fan of this place. I go to Sunday night classes and occasionally make it during the week and I've always felt welcomed and encouraged (by both the instructor and my classmates)The regulars here can be a little "clique-ish," but that's to be expected whenever you get a large group of people together--so I'm not overly concerned. Ok. . .so why did they lose the fifth star? Well, at least on the night I go (Sundays), it can get a bit crowded and HOT. Pack that many folks in the place, close the windows and leave the heat turned up and it can get pretty swampy in there. Bottom line. . .this is a great place. . . whether you're beautifully proportioned and wiry or if you're adoreably proportioned. Namaste.

Yelp
I recently went to Yogaview to try out a new studio, and experience a new teacher. Me being a yoga teacher myself I was excited for a new experience. I took Quinn's class at noon on Saturday. While I was sitting there waiting for class to start I was casually talking with my friend about where to go to lunch afterwards. I had mentioned a restaurant down the street, because I also work there. A woman on my right interrupted me and said that we shouldn't go there, and that there are other pure places to eat. I didn't ask for her opinion, but mentioned to her that I worked there. She replies to me "Oh I'm sorry" with a condescending tone. I normally would tell someone that they are being rude, or I didn't appreciate their comment, but didn't want negative energy during my class. I was put off by this fellow student. We are supposed to lift each other up in yoga, and be apart of a community that supports one another. Not judge or tear down someone who they don't even know. Quinn's class was awesome, and I really enjoyed his teaching. Unfortunately, I just didn't care for the community vibe of competition and judging that I felt in the space. Unfortunate, but I'll probably continue to try out other studios.

Yelp
great prenatal yoga class! This class incorporates a lot of stretches in the upper and lower body which is what I need! Since I have been steadily gaining weight with my first pregnancy, it has been harder to sit, stretch and bend :( Expectant moms of all gestations are in the class and it is really appropriate for all ages and stages. Only downside was the check in process, I was slightly confused, how to pay , where to go, but other class attendees were helpful in providing assistance.

Mike B.

Yelp
What can I say...that my lovely wife Tina B. hasn't already said... Well, actually, I CAN say that I've never checked out any other yoga studios around town... But, besides that, I must say that this place is fantastic. It can be a bit daunting and intimidating for a guy to head into a yoga studio for the first time...unless of course, you're totally secure in yourself as I am...*ahem* Anyway, this place feels like home, and I've only been once. And the workout totally kicked my ass...can't WAIT to go back. Again...and again...and again. Dorie Rules!

Jessica C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite yoga places in Chicago, mostly because it is not heated (who wants to sweat out a gallon of water and feel like they're going to pass out while doing yoga??). My one complaint is that the classes are inconsistent depending on the instructor. Sometimes there is music (yay!), sometimes not (boring), sometimes the instructor is hands-on (yay!), sometimes not, etc. etc. etc. My advice would be to find a class time/instructor you like and stick to that. They also have donation classes for new instructors on Sundays, which is always nice. There is a lot to park in as well which is very convenient.

Irene A.

Yelp
I was happy that Yogaview was still in business. But of course it would be! Almost 20 yrs ago I starting yoga and took the intro class at Yogaview. I'm trying to get back to a normal practice and was happy that yogaview still offered the intro class. The energy in the Chicago studio is calming and everyone is so nice and welcoming.

Molly D.

Yelp
If I could give 200 stars I would. This is the absolute best yoga studio in Chicago. I love it so much. I wish I lived closer. The teachers are amazing and the vibe is so authentic and Serene. I love the front desk and sometimes they sell local art and fun stuff for gifts. It's perfect here

Dave F.

Yelp
After much prodding from my friends who were singing Yogaview's praises, I visited for the first time last Thursday night for Amy's class. As other reviewers have said, the space is gorgeous, but it can get rather crowded. I'd prefer a slightly bigger space or smaller class sizes. Still, it was a great class, I learned a lot and appreciated Amy's professional teaching style. I'll definitely be back for her class!

Summer P.

Yelp
I've been looking for my yoga niche the past few months and I feel like I've finally found it! I was looking for a studio that could push me beyond gym yoga and I think that Yogaview is it. Both studios (one small, one large) have a nice, welcoming atmosphere; the burning candles add to the ambiance. The classes are level based (1, 2, 3, 1/2, and 2/3) and the instructors clearly tailor the class to meet that level. They're not intimidating and, since they each have their own background, you get great variety if you go to different instructors. Love it!

Lisa K.

Yelp
Yogaview ************* !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The entire Yogaview concept is awe inspiring in many ways... Here are a few: The teaching expertise is unsurpassed Tons of variety in classes Workshops are helpful and fun Visiting teacher weekends are a gift Gong baths are totally cleansing The studio is fresh and beautiful Free group meditation is really nice The non dogmatic environment is liberating People are generous and kind Tom and Quinn (the studio owners and phenomenal teachers) have created the opportunity for anyone - AT ANY LEVEL - to enter a stress free, judgement free, enjoyable, fulfilling space at Yogaview. It's a place where you can check out what it means to get on a path of centeredness and balance in both spirit and body. All you have to do is show up and enjoy the ride. Highly recommended as the best studio on earth. Yogaview deserves 10 stars.

Yelp
This studio does some solid yoga magic. If this were in a more convenient location to public transit, I would go all of the time. I have been practicing yoga for many years and have been very impressed with the instructors here. For starters, they all have many years of experience with instructing--nothing is worse than someone teaching you yoga who has less than a year of experience!

Yelp
My divorce was stressful. People would always make smart ass comments like "find your zen" or "calm the hell down." Easier said then done. One person suggested YOGA. So I went with my girlfriend here to check it out. I've never done yoga before so I can only assume that this place is good. The studio is clean and the teachers nice. The clientele is diverse. I only went a few times but for the 24 hours after I went I felt relaxed. I should have gone more often. I plan on going back when I go to visit next month.

Yelp
I am an avid believer that a yoga studio should feel just like home...welcoming and safe. After moving to Chicago I struggled to find a studio that felt that way for me, in addition to vibing with my own personal yoga groove :) Then I found Yogaview and I LOVED it! Not only are the teachers great but the front desk staff is very friendly and inviting. I and am so glad I found this gem of a yoga studio in Chicago. All of the teachers are fantastic. I do have my favorites (Amy, Jessica, Erica, Claire, Sara) but I don't bother checking to see if there's a sub one day because ALL of the teachers are great. It's fun to get a new surprise teacher and experience something new, different and (still) wonderful! To me Yogaview, is an authentic, sacred space to practice with experienced, knowledgeable teachers. No matter what level of the practice you may find yourself at, this is a studio where you can feel good about yourself...one of the most important things you should feel during/after yoga :)

Yelp
I like this yoga studio. I've been attending the free Saturday community class semi-regularly for over a year now. The students, receptionists, and teachers here always seem very friendly and will smile back at you. There's also something wonderful about the community classes. There's a diversity in the abilities, experiences, and ages of the students; and for the most part, people are just focusing on their yoga. They really mix up the teachers as well, so you get exposed to all sorts of different kinds of approaches to yoga. The studio is beautiful, and has an amazing view. Thank you, Yogaview, for offering a community class, and just being an awesome place to go to in general.

Yelp
I just discovered that I can walk to Yogaview, and I wish I had sooner. I attended a level1/2 "community class" (which meant it was free!), and I have no complaints. I started going to yoga classes maybe 10 years ago, but I have never practiced often enough to pass the "beginner" stage. Our instructor was great, and she guided us through each pose although many of the people in the class clearly already knew what they were doing. They even lent me a yoga mat as I had forgotten mine at home. No charge for that either. I'll definitely be attending more classes at Yogaview. Thanks!

Yelp
This is hands down one of the best yoga studios in Chicago. I was a bit annoyed that they move from heart of wicker park to this industrial corridor near clybourne/Webster, but there new studio is far more spacious. Instructors are top notch. Unlike most studios, they actually have very experienced teachers for introductory levels, which I think is so important. Despite the extra commute, I never regret spending extra time to come here. If you want to know what real yoga is like, definitely recommend checking this studio out.

Yelp
I just started practicing at Yogaview in the past month and have really enjoyed classes with Claire, Quinn and Jessica so far. The practice is much different than how I usually practice, but I've enjoyed the switch from super meditative to much more active and I like how practicing here once/twice a week has shifted a few ideas about my own Yogic philosophy. Every class I've been to has had a creative, intelligent, safe sequence where I feel encouraged to try new things and not inadequate when my handstand is wall supported versus middle of the room. There are many dedicated, amazing Yogi's practicing in their classes and it is definitely inspiring to practice with and among them. I'm so happy to have followed a suggestion and to have finally checked out Yogaview. I highly recommend to all levels.

Yelp
The prenatal yoga classes here are awesome - Allison is THE BEST! I am so happy I found this studio. It is not pretentious and parking is super easy. I would highly recommend to any of my friends, pregnant or not! I will continue going back after I deliver. Check it out!

Yelp
So exciting to see Jenny Kaufman teaching at Yogaview. She is a true yoga professional. Hopefully she will add more classes.

Yelp
I'm glad yoga is getting popular....however, the sunday 10am class I took had about 40 people in it! At $16 a head, can you say Cha-ching!!! I go to a private yoga studio for more intimate classes & more personalized instruction. The experience was like doing a yoga tape with a celebrity type yogi who did little teaching and more spiritual-like ego massaging. I can see the appeal but it doesn't feel like authentic yoga that I have experienced at other studios in Chicago. An extra star because maybe some of their other classes are more instruction based and less crowded.

Yelp
this place is great. it's located on the 2nd floor in the building at the corner of webster and elston. there's always parking on the street. come early, of course. i highly recommend sara strother's classes. she is wonderful, funny, and very alignment-focused, which i love. she's got some level 1 classes on the sched, as well as level 2-3. grab your props before you get in the door, BYOMat and maybe some water. drop-ins are $16 a class. the studios are beautiful. i think the only thing is that the traffic in and out of the studio is tight, so that's why i say come early - it's gets crazy with the hanging of the coats, the taking off of the shoes, etc. it gets wild.

Yelp
Yogaview is a beautiful studio and all of the teachers here are fabulous. It used to have a wonderful view of the skyline and now there is a view of the condo building wall, but the studio space itself is great. The staff are always nice, never snobby like some studios. I personally recommend Jim Bennitt's class or Rebecca Bell's class, but I have heard wonderful things about all of the other teachers. They also do teacher training and have classes for you pregnant mommies.

Yelp
I feel bad being the only person giving it two stars but I have had better, and I do every day. I went to Yogaview with a friend and first we were surprised at the fact that you have to pay for your first class. All other yoga studios Ive been too give you the first class free. Its also a bit expensive in comparison with other studios in the area. I went to Yogaview because its literally two blocks away from my house. The first class I went to was a level 1 and it felt more like gentle yoga than a level 1 vinyasa. Yes, the studio is BEAUTIFUL but I felt like the class could have been a bit more challenging. My friend and I tried it again just in case it was a bad day when we went. The second time we tried and intermediate class and once again we felt short changed. It felt too gentle for an intermediate class. Maybe their style is something we have to get used to. Ive also read so many reviews on this studio not being pretentious, but I disagree. The atmosphere felt very pretentious, not the people who work there but the people who go there. It may have been a couple of bad days though. Im willing to give it another chance. Good things is that they have mats and props for everyone.

Yelp
I love Yogaview in every way except -- and this is a big deal to me, thus my rating of only 3 stars -- they jam their classes so that you're almost literally on top of the people on either side of you. When you're doing a vinyasa flow class, where's the room to flow when your neighbors' mats are flush against yours? And when people arrive late and I'm expected to move my mat while in the middle of a pose...that's just disrespectful of those who arrived on time, and disruptive to our practice. I don't see why instructors can't simply shut the door when class starts and tell latecomers, "Sorry; see you next time." Other than that, I love the space and the instructors, and the price point is pretty good, especially considering their discounted rates for buying multiple class passes. Erica and Quinn are excellent instructors if you like vinyasa flow.

Yelp
I love yogaview. Not only is the space beautiful and the parking plentiful, the instructors are awesome. With so many styles offered and so many classes each week, there's something for students of all levels.

Yelp
After years of suffering through classes at yoga studios where both instructors and students seemed to come to class purely to flaunt their self-importance and take themselves SUPER seriously, I have finally found a studio where I feel comfortable enough to relax, learn, and have fun (aka the whole point). Yogaview is wonderful. The studio is spacious and lovely (down to the changing and bathrooms), and the instructors are simply phenomenal. Every class I've taken here has been a pleasure, but Geri's are my favorite. She will make you feel great about coming to class, even as she is kicking your butt. Ample parking, and only a short walk from the Clybourn Metra stop. GO EARLY to secure a good space on the floor.

Yelp
I love Amy's prenatal classes at YogaView! When I was pregnant, I tried many different prenatal yoga and fitness and classes around the city. Amy's Prenatal Yoga was by far my favorite. The studio has a inviting vibe and nice, natural light. Amy has a very motherly, gentle and nurturing personality that shines through in her teaching. During class, Amy brings insightful information and tips about pregnancy and labor. In the beginning of class, she asks if there is anything the group would like to bring up about their pregnancy and then customizes class to meet these needs. The Sunday morning Prenatal Yoga class was my favorite way to close out the week. It offers an opportunity to get your body moving and surround yourself with other pregnant women! I was able to connect with women in similar stages of pregnancy and develop lasting relationships. Although I had practiced yoga before pregnancy, the class is geared to all levels. I always left class with a clear, invigorated mind and body (even during the very last weeks of pregnancy). It is a great way to treat yourself to some pregnancy "me" time! I look forward to trying additional styles of yoga at this studio.
