Yelo Trigg (we have moved! To Flora Terrace, North Beach)

We visited this cafe and found that it had a great view of the ocean. The sea breeze was pleasant and cooling. Staff were very friendly. We had coffee and smoothies which were nice. A great place to have a coffee while enjoying the ocean view.

It’s definitely a great coffee shop on the coast, They close at the 5pm. If they could close after sunset, like 6pm that would be very appealing. They have the best seating area to watch the sunset. And the coffee is very good as well, staffs are friendly. Must visit.

My favorite place to have a break in trigg beach. Friendly staff and fresh food always... Açaí bowl, perfect. Tasty and well served. I strongly recommend the fresh orange juice with carrots and ginger. I'll be back soon 😋

Love the atmosphere here! Near the beach so you can have a great brunch with amazing view! Staffs are busy but still very friendly and polite. Ordered a vege slice and it was awesome!

Loved this place. One of the best blue berry muffins I ever had (check out thw photos). Flat white was pretty average, but that didn't take away anything from the overall experience

Went here after a surf lesson the other day! My brother and myself had two awesome cappuccinos fresh orange juices and some avocado on toast served with some lemon really hit the spot! really lovely atmosphere with a nice view of the beach staff were so friendly nice smile on the way in and on way out makes the world of difference shall definitely visit again on my next trip! 👌 definitely try it out if your in the area ❤️

My favourite café in Perth. Can be very busy. May looked packed but you'll get your good and drinks in no time. They have great time management and are very friendly people. Food and drinks are amazing, and finally to top it off the view

Wow! I'm very impressed by Yelo after my visit yesterday. It's got a fantastic beachy vibe and just suits its surrounding area so well. They have a massive range of cakes, slices and pastries, heaps of rolls, toasties and wraps as well as freshly made juices and of course coffee! We had the carrot cake, gluten free chocolate brownie and the banana bread. all were tasty (the carrot cake was my favourite of the 3, moist and tasty with very tangy lemon icing). The coffee was good and the service was friendly and I will definitely be back again soon. There not a lot of parking around here unfortunately and I imagine on weekends they would be choc-a-block! Maybe grab takeaway and go down to the beach or nearby park :)

Great place for a good breakfast or lunch. There is a lot of hype about 'healthy' food here but in all honesty it's just good food period! Great location and very reasonable too! We mainly come for an iced coffee and a beach walk. Perfect midway pit stop on our weekend walks!!

Easy, no-fuss locals favourite cafe by the dog beach. Hence being a dog friendly spot. It's an easy grab and go style of food offer. Coffees are strong, juices are cold, food is fresh. Service is efficient and on point. It's a mystery to me how their 'marker on a stainless steel bench top' ordering system works. But hey.

As far as Perth is concerned, my overall impression is that these Westerners can handle there venues, whether it is food, decoration, music or people! Yelo is the most colourful and well decorated cafe I have been in a long time. Simple tables and chairs in style that don't clash, various items displayed on shelfs around the place that you can buy if interested; the light is nice and the long table along the length of the cafe gives a enjoyable impression of space. The roasted vegetable panini with a strong large soy flat white was nice: the coffee was tasteful and not burnt, hot; the veggies were nicely seasoned, not too oily or soggy. The bread could have been a bit nicer but that's about it. The one thing I would change is the amount of consumables they used: take away cup even though we were eating in, wrapped sandwich. A little thing but I find it very important! Also, the 6 girls working there were cute, polite, efficient and with gorgeous smiles, it could have influenced me ;) A duck sandwich with fat-fried fries on top of that and I would have stayed for lunch!

Friendly + fast customer service! Great range of vegan + gluten free foods! Pretty good price as well! Mainly wraps, sandwiches, bagels, salad, raw treats and sweet & savoury treats. Juices, smoothies, iced drinks & coffees sold. Fridge of coconut waters, juices etc available. Even on a busy Saturday afternoon, we managed to find a seat. Beautiful place to enjoy yummy + satisfying food with a lookout of the beach!

Love the food, the ambience, the view everything! Hate the fact every single item is disposable - plates, cups, cutlery etc. plus all coffee is served in takeaway cups. In this day and age, such disregard of the environment is just not on. BYO Keep Cup!

A taste of Yelo consists of the morning sunshine, the freshness of the ocean, a coffee kick, quenching juices, gourmet food, a chilled vibe and friendly staff. Yelo is located on West Coast Drive, right on the front of Trigg Beach - as you'd pick up by the trendy surfboards and decor which makes the cafe so unique. It is an amazing place to meet with a group of friends during summer, or to pop in for a takeaway coffee, juice or food after a walk along the coast. Or for those of you (like myself) who may be suffering after a night out on the town, you have to try Yelo's bacon and egg burger followed by a dip in the ocean, it is the ultimate cure for a hangover!

Neat and simple cafe with great coffee and friendly staff!! Food available is what you see at the counter: bagels, rolls, fruit & yoghurt, pastries, salads, home made pies etc.... you get the picture. Plus it looks great!! More of a takeaway kinda place than true sit down... no table service and nothing made to order (from what I gather). Yet there are plenty of seats if you feel like reading the paper of chilling out with a small group of friends. Great addition the the Subi scene!!

"It's very hipsterish," my girlfriend said as we waited in line to place our order. "What was that?" I hadn't heard her. "It's like a pit-stop?" "No," she said. "It's very hipsterish." "Yes," I agreed. "A hipster pit-stop." Yelo is probably one of the best situated, most laidback, and heavily patronised cafés on the strip. You can't drive past without seeing its little bungalow-like balcony crammed full of people while another ten or twelve sit on plastic milk crates out the front. If you can find a spot on the balcony--and the people out there tend to stick around and enjoy the view--then you're doing all right. But the milk crates are a dead giveaway: comfort, here, comes second to cool. Like most places along the coast, Yelo charges for its view, but in general its prices are reasonable. In addition to its coffee, which is not as good as I had been told it would be, it also offers a range of fresh juices and a number of pre-made wraps and sandwiches. Vegans and vegetarians fare well in this respect. ("It's interesting how my vegetarianism means I tend to come to places like this," said my girlfriend, who is probably the least hipsterish person around.) The café also doubles as a surf shop and it has been suggested that this is Perth's answer to the diner in Home and Away. That's not far from the truth. Take that diner and add a liberal dash of Brooklyn's Williamsburg and you'd have mixed a pigment close to Yelo.

Yelo epitomizes beachside lax. Ocean front views, pared-back furnishings and bare feet are welcome. The coffee is really awesome as are the smoothies and juices. For food they make a mix of take-away gourmet bits; muffins, paninis, salads and wraps. Try the wrap with chicken and banana chutney; interesting and tasty. A kitchen out the back also churns out simple, light lunch and breakfasts. One gripe with Yelo is there's no parking on site, so you will have to find a sneaky spot in on of the surrounding streets.

Yelo is my favourite cafe in the whole world. It is the best cafe in the whole world. It sounds like something a five year old would say about how a play park is the best place ever, but that is how I feel. It is just perfect, it's laid back, casual and friendly. It has the most amazing view of the ocean and you can sit with a coffee and just stare at it. That's my top two favourite things put together, the beach and coffee, done. It is fantastically close to Trigg beach, so after a morning or afternoon of swimming, surfing, lying on the beach, clambering over the rocks, and exploring the coves, you can get a refreshing drink at Yelo. They do have fantastic coffee and lovely tea, but if it's a little to hot they do have some tasty juices and their smoothies are great, I love their banana smoothie, a lot. They have yummy food on offer, it's a little expensive but worth what you're paying for and of course uses fresh local ingredients. Yelo also has a section for surf supplies, you can buy wax for your board here, organically made shoes, there are some pretty sweet surf dvd's, which they play up on their screens, and also various surf products. There are comfortable couches, long tables or bar stools at the window to sit at and it's easy to while away the hours chatting with a friend or reading a book here. When I was at university and had to take a unit in the politics and history of genocide, this place was the antidote for my studying, where if I got too depressed about what I was studying the ocean could calm me. So it is also a quiet place to come with your study notes. It is just the coolest cafe and I love bringing people here for their first time, because it is awesome, any time of day, for any occasion and in summer or winter, the view is always stunning.

What I like about this place is the sense of space. It's a really large cafe and the owners have not crowded it with furniture. Great tables and lounges that suit the size of the room but also some more Intimate seating. The coffee is fine but served in takeaway containers. Not my thing. I like crockery and the weight of it in my hand and the way it can add to an experience. Lots of local workers at Yelo SUBIACO coming in for the morning heart starter.

The reason this place is only getting 3 stars is because I have made many attempts to get in here. I even went as far as parking the car but when I reached the cafe it was so packed that I decided there were many more places to go to and not have to wait in a huge queue with lots of kids running around. So finally I got here on a weekday, when it wasn't so packed but still a good crowd. There seems to be a yummy-mummy crowd during the week. I ordered a large coffee and brownie. I sat outside on the balcony and enjoyed the gorgeous sea view. The coffee and brownie were lovely but I don't think I would go there on a weekend. The decor was a lovely beachy feel with that open space feel.

Locals and regulars know that no matter how long the line is you'll get fueled up quick. They smash out the go-go juice. This is a relaxed indy hangout where not many rules apply. The fresh juices are prepared by the young cool-kids, the food is simple post-surf style and you get a choice of seating - wall out the front, milk crate, bench or if you're lucky, a chair!

The best coffee in Perth and doesn't pretend to be anything its not. Take away, eco friendly, fast and alert staff. LOVE this place!

The question is.. does a cafe/restaurant deserve an extra star for location? Im not too sure.. I guess it should? Hence again the push to 4 stars. The downside is the price/value. I enjoyed a kale shake and chicken panini toasted, quite nice actually but it came to $19! But then the frown was turned upside down as i sat on the balcony and enjoyed my glorious view of the ocean and people-watching.. But yes, if there was no view it would be a 3 star.. is that fair? I think so.. Will i be back? Probably, what they offer is healthy and tasty but the view..the view!

An Icon of Australia Beach culture. This place is always overflowing with people, yet it still manages to maintain a chilled atmosphere. I love the blended iced coffees after a coastal stroll or a swim. They also have some yummy food options like frittatas, wraps, tuna patties, salads.. This is no the place to go to however if you want to be guaranteed a place to have a slow social lunch and catch up because: A. They serve everything in takeaway containers so it's not really a ladies-who-luncheon vibe and B. You can't be guaranteed you'll get a proper table, and may have to settle for pulling out some of the crates out front. No problem if you're just stopping by for a quick bite but probably not ideal if you're going to linger. I love the decor and the chilled beach feel. It get's me every. single. time. If I'm going to Trigg, I'm going to Yelo. it's a no-brainer!

Always been one of my favourites. Good food and coffee plus great views. Missing a star because of because of the gentrification of the place over the past few years. It is always packed these days. Happy the business is doing well, but it kind of killed the vibe a bit for me. Solution: Grab your food and coffee and go sit on the beach. Perfect.

I come here quite often, as walking along Trigg coast is one of my favourite things to do. Yelo is a little beach cafe nicely perched overlooking the sea. It has a great menu choice and all food and drinks are served in takeaway containers, should you feel the urge to sit outside and lap up the sea air. I love the smoothies and coffee. The breakfast granola with fruit and yoghurt is tasty too.

One of my favorite spots in all of Perth!!! A must stop for a morning of good chats, yummy treats and stunning beach walk views! Gets a little packed but for sure worth any wait you may have. Grab a coffee or smoothie and a snack and go for a walk along west coast drive - take in all the different color blues. Will revive your soul.

On holiday in Perth: my brother was persuaded to take a detour en route to Freo and stop in at his self-declared favourite café to appease his caffeine addict sister. Yelo gets by operating as a "takeaway" joint, because there's some ridiculous council law about café zoning so close to the beach. That's why everything here is served in takeaway containers, whether you intend to sit down on the premises or not. Just go with it, because Yelo is bangin'. The wait is definitely lengthy on a weekend but the coffee is tasty and so are the freshly-baked muffins! (Bonus: Antipodes spring water in the fridge, for those who like their bottled aesthetics.) On weekends you'll also find the outside area populated by beach-lovin' mutts, so get your holiday fix of dog petting here if you crave it.

I love yelo! The casualness, the location, the healthy food and the friendly people. No matter what u try it is simple yet nice. My only negative is that I don't like BBQ sauce and most of the wraps contain it. I love grabbing some food and taking it down to the beach!!!

Hipster deluxe! Good coffee, great GF selection. Sit with your dog watching the waves roll in at trigg. As its busy you need to fight for a park but it's worth it to hang with the beautiful people and eat what they eat. And it is good!

Great food over looking a spectacular view with a really chilled vibe. Unfortunately, Yelo has become too big for its current location, finding parking is a real issue.

This is a lovely place. By the water and watch the world go by while you drink your coffee. The coffee here is nice and strong. In our short trip to Perth, we visited this place twice. We had the bacon and egg pie first time we were there and that was tasty! Second visit we had the Berry and white choc muffin and that was so good. The muffins here are so nice. It also has some goods for sale and we picked up a few cute canvases to take home and remember this place by. Love it.

I don't think I've gone a week without my Yelo hit. The best Iced Coffees - More Frappe style though. So delicious and creamy, but at the same time the Coffee hit is still nice and strong. Their Juices, Smoothies and Normal Coffee are also very delicious as well as the baked goods. The Egg and Mushroom wrap is also divine, perfect for those in a rush in the morning. For those that aren't in a rush though, take a seat on the balcony and enjoy the amazing view while you enjoy you food and drinks. If you've never been to Yelo, do yourself a favour and go there now!

Great coffee, super quick and friendly service. It's funny how some cafes just have the right formula. The food looks great, I haven't tried it myself, and the decore is open and inviting for both families, people on their way to work and couples having a chilled out breakfast. A great addition to Subi!

You might question the choice of name (or even the weird spelling) for a cafe by the beach, but actually, Yelo is a pretty good name. I'm not sure of the logic behind it, but I like to think it represents the lovely warm glow you get from the afternoon sun over the ocean, or just a casual way of saying "hello". Yelo does beach side cafe chic extremely well. With a well designed interior, featuring lazy lounges and chairs configured for friendly chats, and a beautiful outlook to the Indian Ocean (just over the road) from a dozen bar stools, Yelo has created the perfect post-beach experience. A tasty and healthy menu of light lunches, snacks and freshly-made smoothies gives patrons some great options. And if you feel like being less than healthy, you can't go past their milkshakes and cakes. Been to the beach with the dogs in tow? No problem. Yelo has a selection of tables out the front where you can perch happily with your pooch.

Yelo probably has the best view in all of Perth, and it is the chilled out, surfer attitude of the cafe that really makes the experience. They make good coffee and fresh juices, my favourite is called "Perfect Point'. They also have a range of tasty snacks to go with it and it is a dog friendly venue. Parking is a nightmare and it can get quite crowded on the weekends, but that view is really worth it. Also, you can text your coffee orders before picking it up which I think is pretty cool.

Cool and casual - what was really annoying is I got a fresh coconut to drink but they didn't know how to open the lid to scoop the flesh. Sounds pretty petty but for the price you pay for things in the place you think they would know how to serve a coconut?? The view made the food good.

An excellent café to head to after the beach as the place has a great coastal feel that makes you feel at home as you walk in with boardies drenched in sand. Great coffee, though could offer a better bean as the flavour does not standout compared to other cafés which are developing unique brews. Good choice of food.

Yelo is a funky-looking café opposite the beach. It prides itself on organic products and for the most part, their products are quite nice. The coffees are well-made - their cappuccino feature a good balance of coffee, foam and chocolate. They also feature some savoury organic chips made from sweet potato and beetroot. The staff were friendly, but a part of the café feels contrived. There's an attempt at making the link between the café and the beach, but Yelo seem to have over-reached the connection, with copious repeats of surf movies and motifs of the ocean everywhere. It just feels slightly uncomfortable, which drops this rating down a star.

Best coffee near the beach north of the river with an amazing view of the ocean. Very friendly staff and a nice selection of lunch meals (although slightly expensive). Have made Yelo a regular stop for friday lunches
