"Whether you haveone day or three weeks and whether you’re interested in wolf-watching, geology, photography, wildflowers, or animal tracking, consider reaching out to the Yellowstone Forever Institute (YFI). Formed in 2016 when the Yellowstone Institute merged with the Yellowstone Park Foundation, the nonprofit YFI does single- or multi-day personalized programs year-round. And then there’s the institute’s catalog of hundreds of scheduled educational and experiential programs in both summer and winter. Seminars like the three-day “The Bears of Yellowstone” include classroom presentations, field excursions, and lodging at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch Field Campus. The two-day “Ghost Hotels” is based at Old Faithful and focused on stories about the park’s oddities and ghosts. Novice and experienced ornithologists flock to attend YFI’s “The Birds of Yellowstone.”"

Abbey was constantly optimizing our schedule to see the best the park has to offer while managing the needs of the children in our party, all the while imparting her deep knowledge of the geology, wildlife, and all things past and present of the park. She answered all of our questions over the course of two days and guided us to some incredible animal sightings and geothermal events all without ever feeling rushed. Abbey exceeded our expectations in every way, and we all agreed we couldn’t imagine a better guide.

Person who we dealt with had a superiority complex. Left a poor impression and bad taste in our mouth. Recommend going into the park and talking with the Park employees there. Much more pleasant

In today's society, they don’t even accept cash. Cash remains a widely used and accessible form of payment for many people. Yellowstone NP is a popular travel destination to people from all over the world. It is not very friendly to travelers. But the store itself looks cute.

Do not sign up for remote programs like their "summit." Interfaces, logins, fake-zooms are all unusable.

nice and quiet on a sunday morning. Dennis was so wonderful to chat with! he was a Ranger for the parks service for years and now enjoys his timing working here at the nice Yellowstone gift shop/info center in Gardiner. comfy rocking chairs outside, sat out for at least an hour, admiring the elk on the hill nearby…until low-IQ humans started walking up to them and invading their space to take selfies (DO NOT GET CLOSE TO WILD ANIMALS, no matter how cute, please admire them from an appropriate distance).

We had the privilege of spending a day with Abby and Lauren as our guides to the North Range of Yellowstone National Park. They are so knowledgeable about all subjects (wildlife, flora, geology, park history, current park projects) and deeply enriched our day focused on wildlife observation. They were patient and enthusiastic about answering all of our questions and gave us a great foundation to expand our exploration of Yellowstone National Park. They had well-organized learning aids (eg charts, diagrams, specimens). They had excellent speaking skills and a great pace to topics. They demonstrated to us how to balance the plethora of scientific observations occurring here with the inexpressible awe of being in Yellowstone. Thank you both!

Great little shop with a great book selection (I took home several titles) and other interesting and locally-made items (e.g., "predator-friendly" wool caps). We decided to purchase a 1-year membership as the 15% immediate discount on books paid for it, and I took home a plush baby bison as their thank-you gift. A must-stop if you're in Gardiner or are visiting the north end of Yellowstone.
