On the Grid : WUK

"This former loco factory is Vienna's melting pot of alternative art and culture. There are artists' studios, workshops, flea markets, performances, exhibitions and basically anything you can think of. The project spaces are easy to rent and in summer there are bars outside and people spending the whole night there. Check out the website of this creative hub to be informed of what's happening next." - Maximilian Mauracher

An excellent, tidy, friendly concert venue that also sounds good. Plenty of choice of drinks, reasonable prices. A cool place.

Great venue to see live music - it has indoor and outdoor seating and multiple cars. Great vibes

Really nice place, i really enjoyed being there, there was a bathroom, and wifi even, it was really comfy for waiting for my concert. Altough the security didn’t even take a look inside my bag, and still said i have to put it down, and i only brought things for a concert obviously. And it was a4, which is far as i know is allowed at every venue. I get it we should bring small bags, but it was really a4, and not even full. And i’ve been to a lot of concerts before so i know the etiquette. That made me really mad, i didn’t even have cash with me to pay for the bag being there(my friend did).

Won't sell a sugar free long drink unless I pay extra for a fritz cola, 3.20€ more than a normal long drink... Really? 👎👎👎👎 (This is what 2 different bartenders told me)

A former locomotive factory, WUK is now a cultural and social center offering contemporary art exhibitions, performances, and workshops. It represents Vienna’s shift toward community-driven cultural spaces, merging historical industrial architecture with modern creativity.

Such a cosy venue. I love the atmosphere of the outside also.

Today, WUK with its 12.000 m area is one of the biggest sociocultural centres in Europe - a space for artistic production and a wide array of events. It's also home to some 150 various groups and initiatives, organized in the autonomous sectors of dance/theatre/performance, music, visual arts, workshops, sociopolitical initia- tives, children/ youth and intercultural initiatives while operating a number ofeducational and counselling projects for workforce integration.
