Brew & Brew blends cozy vibes with craft coffee and local brews in a chic industrial space, perfect for a laid-back morning or lively evening.
"This Scandinavian-sparse cafe with a hilarious menu is a popular place to park indoors or outdoors with a laptop. Though the focus is on coffee and beer, there’s a full bar with drinks like a pistachio martini and several coffee cocktails. Food-wise, there are bagels and schmears and sandwiches, also available to-go." - Erin Russell
"The East Austin coffee shop has an elegant menu of espresso, filter coffee, and cold brews from local roasters. It is light and warm, and friendly baristas can guide the uninitiated through the latest and greatest trends in the coffee world. It serves sandwiches and bagels for the daytime, while the evening menu has burgers, fries, and chicken sandwiches. Plus there’s a full bar and loads of beers and wines. Takeout orders can be placed online or in person." - Nadia Chaudhury, Erin Russell
"The small east side cafe takes care while crafting its espressos made with local beans, and yes, you can get a boozy espresso martini if that’s your jam. (500 San Marcos Street, East Austin; takeout orders can be placed online or in person, and there are indoor and patio areas)" - Nadia Chaudhury
"I enjoy a good sandwich for dinner every so often. It’s easy and simple and usually delicious. We tried out the menu at Brew & Brew’s new on-site shop Destroyer Sandwich, and, much like everything that the restaurant team does, it was amazing. The Torquey is a cold sandwich packed with smoked sliced turkey, creamy burrata, and a nice green olive tapenade. It made for a great, satisfying meal. I want to try one of the hot sandwiches next time." - Eater Staff
"Brew & Brew is the kind of coffee shop/bar where you can sip on a cappuccino, surrounded by “entrepreneurs,” custom motorcycle designers, and grad students avoiding working on their theses—sometimes, all in the same person. This bar and coffee shop is located on a busy corner in the heart of East Austin, and it’s one of the single best places in town to do some people-watching over a great cup of drip coffee or espresso. Beans are sourced from lots of local roasteries—many of which you’ll find on this very list—so you can kind of treat this as a one-stop shop for sampling and finding your own favorite.
