This is a wonderful restaurant in a fantastic neighborhood. Everything is always cooked extremely well. They’re known for their wood fire oven, so if you’re going, you must have the wood fire mushroom appetizer. It is a star on the menu! One reason my partner and I love going here is their full vegetarian menu. It’s nice that they treat vegetarians like they are an important part of their clientele and not an afterthought. Also, the service is always exceptional. I appreciate a restaurant where the staff knows the wine menu really well. Other favourites on the menu include any of their pastas and the ribs. Be careful however — this is a seasonal menu and they source many of their ingredients locally. So you may not always get what you’re expecting. Unless you’re just expecting great food, then you’ll always get what you’re expecting. 😋 The reason I gave them four stars instead of five is because I always leave hungry. It has nothing to do with the flavour or quality of their food. Just portion size.

I had a feeling we were their best friends - that’s how attentive and seamless the service was. Their locally sourced seasonal vegetarian dishes are to die for:) And their desserts are masterpieces! In the summer definitely get a side of fried sunchokes - warning though, you may loath your regular fries thereafter ;) The pervading tone of the place is cozy with herbs and flowers that you see and taste in your food and drinks growing right out of their door. Oh, and don’t forget to get a loaf of bread with my fave native red five flour to go.

An experience unlike any other. I had no expectations going into this, but this was unlike anything I've ever been to. The decor and food are very rustic like a cabin. Everything is tastey and satisfying. Portions are somewhat small like tapas and it's pricey, but it's worth it. Our waitress understood our dietary restrictions (and we have lots). It was my birthday so they put a candle in my dessert. Great experience.

First time at Woodlot. Loved the ambiance and the decor. The Mushroom Rice starter dish was absolutely delicious. The chicken pot pie was juicy and cooked to perfection. Everything is cooked in a stove oven and that taste reflects in the cooking. Will be recommending!

Really enjoyed the experience of this place. Just some wholesome food and a small menu (see pictures for our menu that night) that changes with the supply and seasons, this is how good food should be served. We enjoyed our time there with incredible service and ability to accommodate different dietary needs including vegan options. Would gladly visit again.

What a cozy and yummy place! Right off the bat I got excited because they had Game of Thrones cocktails - very current. Highlights were the roasted Brussels sprouts and the dessert: a great balance of creamy sweet chocolate hazelnut with tart golden berries. My only concern was that it got quite smoky towards the end of our meal given the wood burning oven and we were both coughing quite a bit.

The atmosphere is amazing, but service and portions fell short. They do have a full vegetarian menu, which makes it a great for groups. Also, they provide excellent bread and butter when you sit down. We ordered the mushroom and squash appetizers. Portions were very small, it was barely enough to share with two people. Mushrooms had great flavour, squash was pretty but flavour was meh. At $16 each, we definitely expected more. For main course, we ordered the bouillabaisse, agnolotti, and sourdough pasta. Bouillabaisse had excellent flavour but the stock was very salty, didn't have much fish and was served cold. Pastas were also lukewarm, but again excellent flavour. Main courses were between $24-28 Service was inattentive, and our server was a little rude. I'd return here again for a business dinner or with vegetarians.

One of the worst restaurants I tried. Bland tasting food, pricy, portions were small. Service was bad. I don’t understand how this restaurant got good reviews at all. Food -lettuce salad : the worst. The dressing was boring and very bland. Croutons were soggy and not flavoured at all. And pricy! To be honest, most people can make much better tasting salad at home. -mushroom pasta: The only decent dish of our meal. Noodles -agnolotti: Sour and bland. No flavour whatsoever. -rockfish : not bad but also bland. $28 for a small fillet is too much. Ragu was decent. -artichoke : tiny, sour and not much flavour. Bland. Don’t know what kind of taste they were trying to create. Expensive. My husband and I ordered 1 salad , 2 pastas (side dish portion), and 2 mains. Normally, at other restaurants we would have leftovers to take back home but we left the restaurant still not full. We paid $140 and not feeling full?? Ridiculous Service we had to wait for 20mins for the mains and the server didn’t even apologize. In fact, the servers never once asked us how the food was or if we needed anything. We also had to wait for the card machine for 15mins and again there was no apology for the delay. Isn’t it common courtesy to at least acknowledge this to the customer?? I Would never go back or recommend this restaurant to anybody
