Woodah Boutique Hostel

Lovely time spent at the hostel. The hostel is very clean, Michael is so friendly and helpful. The bike rental is very cool when it’s not raining, the best way to visit the city in my opinion. At night, the hostel is calm because of its size. The price is very attractive considering the location, the tasty breakfast and cleanliness.

Overall the Woodah hostel isn’t bad, but there are some things that you should know before staying here. The pros of this hostel are the easy check in process, free breakfast and semi private beds. Also, it has a nice shared private green space if you are in the back rooms and are adventurous enough to climb out the window. As for the cons: In my experience the hostel wasn’t very social, as the hostel lacks a common room after 7 PM, instead all you get are two sofas that are pretty uncomfortable. Additionally, there wasn’t a fridge, microwave or stove if you wanted to eat in. Furthermore, you could hear the bedroom door open and closing multiple times throughout the night. In addition, after check out there wasn’t any secure place to store your bag. Finally, the hostel shared only had two stalls of toilets and showers across 24 guests, after reception closed. Overall, I didn’t have a bad time here but I definitely don’t think it’s a boutique hostel. But, I might say here again if I decide to come back to Copenhagen.

The Woodah hostel was in a great location, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfasts were simple but good and convenient. However, it isn't that quiet of a space within the hostel at night. There was a decent amount of noise through the night from other guests, with doors slamming and the bathroom door staying open where we heard everything. The beds while long are pretty narrow and the curtain didn't feel private enough for me. It's a good choice for 1-2 nights if you don't mind the lack of privacy/space.

Great location with around 5-10 min walk from the central station. The entrance of the hostel has a digital key and you need to walk down a bit to enter. The Osaka room has around 10 beds, each person has also a cabinet with a lock. Towel is provided. There are two shower rooms and two toilets for all the people. Breakfast is included and very decent. The restaurant is story-like, and they provide toast, cheese, yogurt, boiled eggs, and coffee. It’s simple but fine enough. The environment is also organized and neat, with areas like sofa and couches for everyone. The privacy of each bed is also considered as a curtain is there. Overly, highly recommended this place for a short stay in Copenhagen!!

Cozy atmosphere, super-friendly hosts, and in a very practical location a stone's throw from the central station. I liked the sleeping pods, the breakfast was simple but delicious, and common areas were kept fresh and clean.. However the dorm rooms were to my mind uncomfortably warm when I stayed in late may (with 22-24°C peak day temperatures) - even sleeping completely without the provided blankets. The simple fact is that there were too many occupants packed tightly in small rooms with insufficient ventilation - just a small window barely cracked with signs posted to not open them further for (likely wise) security reasons. As such I would gladly stay here again in spring, fall or winter - but I would look elsewhere for accommodation if coming again to Copenhagen in summer months.

Pros: -Excellent, fast wifi connection -Close walk to train station -Cozy and quiet atmosphere, limited number of guests -Huge drawer with lock to store your luggage (could fit my large carry on suitcase and backpack with plenty of room) -Privacy curtain for bed -free towel provided -free light breakfast Cons: -Top bunk was a bit difficult to get in and out of. Bed was pretty comfy but the space felt a bit cramped -Tiny common area -Only 2 toilets/shower stalls. Bathroom can get crowded with hostel guests getting ready in the morning Overall, nice spot in Copenhagen if looking for an affordable, quiet stay! Be sure to check out Mikkeller for craft beer across the street during your stay.

They eek out a 4 - they were very helpful when my credit card got borked and I was coming in late. On the flip side, the pods are plywood boxes with bolts sticking out that could seriously cut you if you hit one wrong, and the basement rooms are utterly inadequately ventilated. I abandoned after one night of fetid air and several people hacking up lungs in the shared dorm. They have great promise, but really need to work on improving their ventilation and covering up the construction materials.

The Hostel: I stayed in the 10-bed mixed dorm. It was very clean, well designed and functional. Accommodation is safe and secure with keypad access to the building. Semi-basement rooms with windows facing the street. Just keep them closed at night as a standard safety measure. Towels and linens are provided free of charge and lockers are sizable with a padlock included. The Stay: The bed was comfortable and private. Good location and within walking distance to most attractions. Breakfast included with a nice selection of food and drinks. Overall vibe was zen-like and quite relaxed. Loved this about the stay. I wouldn't consider this a "social" hostel, but people were approachable and it was quite easy making friends. The Service: Amazing staff - incredibly kind, informative and accommodating. They were always available to answer questions and offer recommendations/guidance upon request. Of note, reception personnel are only on-site from 14:00 to 19:00 each day, but available during off hours as needed. Late check-ins will be honoured and arranged in advance. Some reviewers commented on limited shower/toilet availability. I believe the hostel accommodates 24 guests at a time. The bathroom includes 2 showers, 3 sinks and 2 toilets in the guest area with 2 additional toilets in the cafe that are accessible during hours of operation. Despite the limited facilities, I never had to wait to use anything. Would definitely stay again!
