"Tour a Portland Brewery A trip to Widmer Brothers Brewing Company is a pilgrimage for many, but you don't have to be a card-carrying beer geek to enjoy this romp through suds and stainless. The guides who explain the intricacies of creating German-inspired beers know the landscape here in Beervana. You'll learn about brewing, the ingredients, and keg-filling robotics. At the end, you'll be rewarded with samples from the brewery's innovative portfolio. Your only test is keeping up with the pours. And you get to keep the Widmer tasting glass. The craft brewers of the Northwest redefined and revitalized the art of small-batch specialty beers in the mid-1980s. Kurt and Rob Widmer were early pioneers in this revolution, which continues to grow. Make a reservation a week in advance to ensure a spot. The Saturday tour lasts about 45 minutes, and the Gasthaus brewpub is just down the block for more “product research” to pair with the food."

Came here for their burger week special and the burgers were delicious. Their hefe beer was also delectable! Service and atmosphere was top notch.

The bottle shop/keg sales shop is the best! I have been buying kegs here for over 10 years, the service and quality of the beer is fantastic. I hope the gasthaus reopens someday. Edit - see photo below for hours.

We had great burgers and enjoyed the brewery tour. After coming back home to Tennessee, I tried for months to have their hefeweisen shipped to our house. My husband was slightly obsessed with it for awhile. Luckily, we have some local places carrying it now.

Outstanding service with an incredible rotating tap selection. I had the gose flight and, even though I'm not typically a gose fan, I loved it. Definitely try the tomatillo y pepino gose, it's a life changer

Great service but over priced beer and food. Similar to McMenamins, They are running on reputation not the quality of the food nor the price of their beer. I ordered a Lamb burger. It really tasted like beef. I did complain and the server did go to the manager who said it was lamb but would give me something else in its place. That was a nice offer, but I ate it. Trust me I eat a lot of lamb and beef and as stated this was not 100% lamb. I would give it a 20 % lamb and 80% beef. But the soups were fantastic, both the beer cheese and the spicy red pepper. (Which is why they did not get 2 stares, I do not plan on returning, too many other great restaurants.
