Dive into a rejuvenating experience at this traditional Korean spa, where communal bathing meets a full-service sanctuary for relaxation and renewal.
"This is what you get for setting up your two best friends. They eventually break up, despise one another, and then make you take sides. Skip all that and go into hiding at Wi Spa in Koreatown. This five-story metropolis is an LA institution where 40 minutes becomes four hours in the blink of an eye. Sign up for private acupuncture, slurp spicy chicken stew at the 24-hour cafe, or roll around in hot clay balls with strangers in matching uniforms. It’s a beautiful, phone-less world at this Korean spa, and that’s just what your soul needs. " - brant cox
"There are Korean saunas — a classic LA experience — and then there's Wi Spa: the 24-hour mega spa is open to kids and adults, much to the lament of anyone in search of a relaxing experience (me). Offering an extensive list of spa services, the best bang for your buck is the flat entrance fee. For 25 buckaroonies, you get full access to five different heated rooms, hot tubs, dry and steam saunas, a library and sleeping rooms, where you can chill (and sweat) with the whole fam or your new squeeze on a nap mats in the communal jimjilbang for as long as you like, or basque on the quiet rooftop. If that's not enough for you, Wi has a full restaurant and a gift shop filled with Korean beauty products and services. Ideal if you need a serious backrub (go for the accupressure massage) or want to have skin like baby (even if you're not one, their body scrub treatment can get you there, bro)." - The HR Dept
"Koreans spend nearly 1.5 billion US dollars on the spa life in South Korea, so when we say this jimjilbang (a traditional K spa) is an iconic Koreatown staple, just know that this spa is probably going to surpass your expectations of what a spa can be. Separated into men's and women's sides, guests strip down, shower, and then hop into one of the treated medicinal tubs (see how long you can stay in the cold one). Then head up to choose a treatment, which costs extra, from the vast menu of body buffs, seaweed massages, and facials. After your treatment, you'll head up to the next floor to the common area, where you can grab a bite at the cafe, which offers healthy Korean soups and noodles, before heading into the multitude of cavernous saunas. There's even a sleep room, a room full of soft leather recliners, and a full gym. Oh and you'll be doing all of this in your comfy Wi Spa shorts and t-shirt, which are provided." - Maxwell Williams
"What’s the vibe at this place? Consider the jimjilbang. Koreans spend nearly 1.5 billion US dollars on the spa life in South Korea, so when we say this spa is an iconic Koreatown staple, just know that this spa is probably going to surpass your expectations of what a spa should, nay, can, be. Take us into the room. How was the set-up? The session itself? First, you are ferried off to men's and women's sides, where you strip down, shower, and then hop into one of the treated medicinal tubs (see how long you can stay in the cold one). Then head up to choose a treatment, which costs extra, from the vast menu of body buffs, seaweed massages, and facials. What about after the treatment? After your treatment, you'll head up to the next floor to the common area, where you can grab a bite at the cafe, which offers healthy Korean soups and noodles, before heading into the multitude of cavernous saunas. There's even a sleep room, a room full of soft leather recliners, and a full gym. Oh and you'll be doing all of this in your comfy Wi Spa shorts and t-shirt, which are provided. What do they do best here, then? And how can we make sure we get the most out of it? Wi Spa is a Los Angeles institution—it's some people's first stop when they land to rejuvenate from the flight. Some locals go to Wi Spa once a week--it's cheap enough to be worth it to stop in and take advantage of the saunas and medicinal pools. However you're experiencing it, expect to come out of Wi Spa feeling cradled in serenity." - Maxwell Williams
"Perfect For Writing: A mini-series about strangers who can communicate telepathically, or a WestWorld rip-off. Koreatown has many great day spas, but Wi Spa is the undisputed grand master of them all. This massive, four-story spa has separate mens and womens floors, family areas, a full-service restaurant, computer rooms, a gym, and every type of sauna imaginable. And after clearing your mind through a much-needed clay meditation, head up to the rooftop terrace (in your Wi-spa provided uniform) where there’s free wifi, plenty of seating, and a quiet environment ideal for writing/staring at your computer." - brant cox
