Westlight, the rooftop bar at the William Vale Hotel, is an excellent option. You can (and should) make a reservation here, and there’s plenty of indoor space for when it’s too cold to be on the patio outside." - bryan kim
"If you want a view, go to Westlight. This is the bar at the top of the William Vale Hotel, and it’s the best place in Williamsburg to drink a good cocktail and stare at the Manhattan skyline. It feels a little more like Soho than Williamsburg, however, so expect a crowd of well-dressed people and a line to get in at peak times. (If you want to avoid that, make a reservation.) "Westlight is on the top floor of The William Vale hotel, and the view here makes most other rooftops feel like subway stops that sit above ground. It’s the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, or the fact that your summer no longer involves explaining the difference between East, West, and Greenwich Village to an out-of-towner. "This fancy rooftop bar on top of the even fancier William Vale hotel in Brooklyn feels like something you'd find in Manhattan. That said, Westlight has some of the best views in the city, and the food and drinks are actually pretty good. Aside from a few larger items like a smoked cheddar burger, you'll mostly find creative takes on familiar rooftop fare (shrimp cocktail dumplings, fried fish in buns instead of tacos, etc.). "The view at Westlight will make you want to take several photos and then live inside one of those photos. So if you need to impress someone, or if you’re just tired of hanging out in places where you can see pedestrians and overflowing trash cans, plan your date here. It’s the rooftop at the William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg, and you can (and should) make a reservation.
