Housed in an old factory which is a lovely art deco building. Interesting shop. Absolutely packed with items, but I did not find it very engaging. There was not much information and very little in English and the items were not particularly self explanatory. It was like someone had beautifully curated an old hoarder’s house after they had passed away. I would recommend walking up the stairs and looking at the nice building and visiting the shop, but not bothering with the museum.

Wonderful museum highlighting mass manufacturing in the 20 & 21 st centuries. Lots of interesting things to read and gaze at.

What an unexpectedly diverse collection of stuff! We spent there quite a bit of time with my friend, not just looking at the things and being amused, but also trying to figure out what some of them were! 🤪 i took a lot of photos to do some research later. I wish there was a guide to tell fun stories of the things, but in any case, it was worth a visit! The area has some amazing Turkish pastry shops and restaurants/bistros.

Interesting small museum with a unique collection of mostly everyday objects (furniture, kitchenware, toys etc). It has a focus on industrial design and production. Its collection ranges from some pre-industrial manufactured to contemporary mass produced objects. What was particularly interesting was that it provided not only examples of exeptional objects of each time period but also shows average or even poor examples. I found this aspect unique to this museum, as it brought to light a certain survivorship bias one can have when thinking of the past. Where we think that objects were made to higher standards than today since we only see the surviving exeptional examples that did not end up in the trash.

Material and living history is so interesting. I recommend booking/spontaneous joining the guided tours.

Yelp
That is an interesting museum with thousands of old and daily-used things from different parts of history. Main aim of the museum is to illustrate different trends of furniture colours and designs over decades. However, I have to say there are lots of great museums all over Berlin. This one should be one of the last ones in the list.

Yelp
Museum der Dinge (Museum of Things) is so Berlin and so weird, but also very intelligently and intentionally curated. Some of the theory was at times over my head or not necessary for me to enjoy the wackiness. It has collections with themes that range from colors (yellow & black), to content (sex-related, childhood toys, etc.), to era. (I included pictures of all of these.) I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would recommend it to anyone, especially to anyone who's already planning on spending some time in Kruezberg or on Oranienstrasse.

Yelp
A little hard to find - nestled as a hole in the wall but that's not too big of a deal. The collections weren't that interesting and they had a little exhibit in the back meant to intrigue the senses (a sensual exhibit) but it all came off so anticlimactic. Maybe if it organized in a more thematic way rather than in cabinets piled together? Disappointed because I love the strange and austere and for ~$15 a ticket I guess I was expecting more.

Yelp
What a museum! This is a huge collection of... the things. Especially everyday-use things wonderfully sorted and displayed by colour, material or purpose. You'll see lots of things you might remember from the past, especially when you grew up in former Czechoslovakia :)
