Wee Nam Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice Restaurant

Went on Friday night, we are the 3rd group of customer waiting in line. There are table needed to be clean and empty seats available but waitress have no more bandwidth to bring customers in. waited for a good 15 mins and finally got in. Place is noisy, lots of echo. Need to raise voice to heard each other. The atmosphere and service wasn’t really pleasing. Roasted chicken was oos at 7 plus, didn’t managed to try and gotten the white chicken. It was good, the sauce is nice. Rice is fragrant and tasty. Traditional dumpling, a good mix of mushroom, prawn and pork. The beansprout was served piping hot and tasty delicious. Not a fan of their chili and ginger sauce but it was okay cause the food already taste good.

The best chicken rice in Singapore, ranked by chicken rice lovers. This is the main branch. If you do not arrive early, you may need to queue up. The boiled chicken and roasted chicken is the best. The sauces are superb. We enjoyed the meal so much. Highly recommended for tourists.

Ordered a roast chicken and a white chicken for Dabao with our own containers. Both with skin. Prefer the roasted one. Though the white was good too, just not the very best we’ve had. Chicken served cold, as it should. Veges served piping hot and were comparatively expensive. I asked for less oily, but still seemed oily, and was slightly over salted. But have to have a balanced meal right?!

They used to have their main shop at the old Novena Ville back in 1987 till early 2013. 🟦 Novena Ville was later demolished and rebuilt again. But Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice shop had by then moved to United Square mall in Nov 2013. 🟧 I went to look for Wee Nam Kee at United Square in Dec 2013. Had my chicken rice fix again. 🟡 Wee Nam Kee is one of my favourite chicken rice stalls in Singapore. The rice is scrumptious and filled with the umami-rich flavour of chicken and ginger. The chicken breast is tender and flavourful. ✳️ They used to sell chicken porridge at the old Novena Ville outlet too. ⬛️ Service wise = the staff are friendly and efficient here. They are old timers here. I recognised one uncle wait staff who had been with them for like 30 over years.

Our go to place for Chicken rice. Rice was flavoured well and roasted chicken was tender. Great chili sauce too. Service was fast and efficient. Lots of family with kids and can get noisy during peak hours on weekends.

Awesome chicken rice here. Both roasted and white chicken are really delicious and tasty. Rice is nice and fragrant.

$7 for chicken noodle, soya chicken is moist enough but the portion is a tad small, the chicken's not something one would make a special trip for. Price can't be helped given the location. Place is easy to find, ground floor facing the drop-off point for the office tower.

Chance upon the good review on google and decided to give it a try. Utterly disappointed! The taste of the steam chicken barely decent (not awful) but definitely not worth the try. I also ordered hot plate tofu which is a huge disappointment as well, come in pretty small portion with little ingredients and very starchy with pathetic amount of egg spread below. The chicken rice garlic chilli probably the worst that I ever had before in my entire life! Extremely watery, not even spicy at all and tasteless. The service there also quite bad and rude. I don’t think I would want to dine there again. Also, won’t recommend to my friend.
