"This excellent neighborhood park—smack in the middle of Tribeca—feels like its own world. The edge is lined with trees, which gives it a veil of privacy and makes the play areas, water fountains, and jungle gyms feel like they're in a not-in-the-middle-of-a-city place."

Best place to sit and relax after a long day at the office. Zen time is extremely important especially if you're in a big city like The Big Apple! Follow me on IG Instagram Sam @nyctme & @nycprimeshot

Nice small park. Within walking distance of World Trade Center One. Park is smaller size than some parks, but peaceful. More for families with young children vs teenagers. No basketball court.

Beautiful area of NYC, I was lucky enough to visit beginning of May when all the tulips are in bloom. A must is checking out the freshly painted Frank Ape figures on 7 separate picnic tables with a great view of World Trade Center. I loved my visit

We highly recommend this park. It offers nice views to the World Trade Center and the atmosphere in general is very special because it’s a small park.

Just discovered ladybug day at WMP. Each year the park brings in ladybugs from California to use against aphids which are harmful to plant life here, instead of pesticides. They make it an educational event for all kids. I think they've been doing it for over 20 years. The volunteers who help with the ladybugs are incredibly helpful and my two daughters, ages 3 and 5, absolutely loved it. It's a fun time learning about nature for city kids. More please 😋

Mostly for small children but the lawn is not bad

Nice space for leisurely strolls. Very family-friendly with a playground for kids. I visited in the winter, when the park closes earlier than usual. The park attendant literally chased me and about 10 other people, including kids, out of the park.

The park itself was decent, there were nice benches by flowers and there’s a lot of nature to look at. Everything seemed normal with the park at first, until I saw a bunch of rats running around the park. And not just one or two rats, I saw upwards of 10 to 15 running around. The park is nice but if you’re going, be on the lookout for rats.

Yelp
Washington Market Park is great. I'm sorry I don't get here as much as I would like. It's a place where you really get a sense of the community. This is a great neighborhood with a lot of great history. I'm usually going so crazy running around taking photos that I don't sit in the park. I just wander through to see what's going on inside and in the park vicinity. If you're visiting the area check it out. I feel the spirit of old New York when I'm here!

Yelp
A great place for kids to hang out. I don't live nearby, so I stumbled upon this huge space by chance. There are 3 separate sections for children of different ages to play, which is great... easier to keep an eye on your cub. I came on a spring day, but I can tell this place is awesome in the summer, with plenty of options to play with water. The lawns are carefully manicured and there's a big green space in the middle. I assume they use it for many events, since it was perfectly cared for. There's plenty of shade, sitting options and restrooms are available. A great community space.

Yelp
If you want A+ seclusion and still have panoramic views of skyscrapers, I'd be hard pressed to find more than one or two other places in NYC that rival this.

Yelp
Washington Market Park is a large park in Tribeca with two playgrounds perfect for kids, water fountains, large green space, and picnic tables. It's gated so you can let your kids run around without worrying as much.

Yelp
We love this park, it's our go to due to the proximity. It's got three separate areas that are appropriate for different age groups. Includes sand play area, open grassy field, gazebo to hang out around, picnic tables, restrooms. In the summer/spring they turn on the water features and sprinklers, which are adorable and so fun for the littles to hang out and cool down it. It's also super shady, which is nice for the hot summer days. Concerts are held here, little events for Halloween and other holidays, and there is a farmer's market held right outside every Saturday. Compost collection is every Wednesday and Saturday as well. The only improvement I would make is to add swings. There's so much space and let's face it, kids just love swings!

Yelp
This is a quite little park for your kids to run around a bit. There is one area with grass to play some ball or just run around and some picnic tables for a quite lunch, and there are some slides as well, but in general this place is pretty small and quite which was perfect for us.

Yelp
I grew up in the neighborhood where this wonderful park is located. This park sure brings back the happier memories in my childhood. There are several spacious playground for kids of all ages, a nice green grass area for picnics and sports, a great gazebo in the middle of the park used mostly for parties and events for a suggested donation, the beautifully landscaped pathways for a simple stroll/jog around the park, and the clean benches to sit/meditate/reflect.. I really miss visiting this park at least once a week back when I was still living in TriBeCa (lower west side of Manhattan). ***Washington Market Park is worth a visit, especially on a sunny day when you just need some place nice to enjoy the weather! -Kids-friendly -Family-friendly -Dogs-friendly -Pet-friendly

Yelp
Located in TriBeCa, this park is bordered by Chamber Street and Greenwich on either side, and behind it is the Borough of Manhattan Community College. The park itself was privately maintained until 2004, until the city took over and recently a not-for-profit group was created as "the Friends of Washington Market Park" and looking to take over programming and maintenance of the park again. Plenty of green space to relax... few people outside of the locals know or walk around this space most of the year. The space is off the path of the West Side 9A and no view of the water... people tend to go over to the Hudson to see that and walk around there. A nice quiet alcove in the area to read or grab a coffee and do some people watching of the people wandering through TriBeCa.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite spot when I used to work in Tribeca. It is always buzzing with kids from the nearby school. Specially in the morning and evening there are so many kids out here with their nannies. It is an awesome place to get some food/coffee and relax in the arms of mother nature. This park is apt for relaxing, playing with the kids and visiting with friends. The park includes a basketball court and tennis court, a community garden and a gazebo for hosting events and parties. The park is open from 7 a.m. to dusk, seven days a week. It is run by a non-profit neighborhood organization that produces free public events in the park and supports park restoration and improvements.

Yelp
Pretty good park. BMCC is located right next to it. It's good to cut through before going to a class. It does close at 5pm though so you need to be careful before you get locked in. There is often farm vendors who bring their produce at the side of the park to sell. And during Christmas time, they also have trees sold here.

Yelp
This is a wonderful little park in TriBeCa. The park is gated and has ramps everywhere making it a very stroller-friendly place. I love the fact that it's mostly shaded, making it an ideal gateway in summertime for the little ones. There are two playgrounds connected by a cool tunnel for the kids to crawl through. The two playgrounds are not differentiated by age, so not ideal for older children or very young toddlers. There is a decent patch of greenery where kids can run around and kick a ball. The onsite restrooms are very helpful and they are relatively well-maintained.

Yelp
Happened upon this park after dining at Max with my friends. There's a community garden, a lovely playground for children complete with SPRINKLERS [which I ran through...I mean, I had to], a relatively large field, a pretty Cinderella-esque gazebo [that description is based on the colors lol], and pretty trees giving shade on hot summer days. It even has a piano. I thought it had to do with the "Play Me I'm Yours" exhibit, but I didn't see it listed. Still, awesome :) Not crowded. Just a charming park in a charming neighborhood.

Yelp
Nice though small little park next to BMCC campus. It has a bathroom, so if you're out walking, be sure to stop in!

Yelp
I was once at this park with my 3 year old. There was a homeless man aimlessly wandering about. Talking to himself. Befuddled. He shouldn't be at a park where children are but he wasn't causing anyone harm. It was sad. He needed help. The police response to escort this man away from the premises was larger than a triple homicide. Cars. Battering trucks. Fire engines. They escorted him off calmly. Immediately. If you value safety, in a completely homogenous environment (minus the staff watching all the children of course) than this is the absolute best park for you.

Yelp
I'm a nanny in TriBeCa and I take the kids to this park all the one. I love it. There are 3 different sections of the park- for all ages. And a nice grass area to play in or have a picnic in - as well as picnic tables. And a cute gazebo to have a party in and such. I think it's one if the best kids parks in the city.

Katie O.

Yelp
Great park, well maintained by staff and Friends of Washington Park. Awesome concert series for families in the summer and great Halloween show! Gorgeous gazebo, too.

Yelp
They did a lot of work in this park, from the new restrooms to the new traffic light and crosswalk and free wifi via BMCC. The recreation facilities are getting crowded with TriBeCa having more families moving in. Now about the tennis court. There's a clipboard on the door of the park office where you sign up for court time. You have to get there early in the morning to get on the list. Pick what time you want to play and put in your NYC tennis permit number. Court time is every hour on the hour, which is great unlike the Pier 40 courts. I've met some real nice folks here. One is Mr. Jones. To keep things on the up and up I would take a pic of the list. Recently had some people say they were on the list but they weren't. Sucks that there are people like that.

Yelp
This place is a park for the whole family. The kids are entertained with jungle gyms and sprinklers. The free wifi will keep most parents and those who just want to relax in the sun busy for hours. There's also a nice patch of grass for those who want to enjoy a nice afternoon picnic. The park is cleaner than most and that's a rarity in NYC.

Yelp
It's weird and annoying.I don't love Washington market park.Dont go here. But you would like it.

Garreth G.

Yelp
It's a small park more suitable for kids as they have numerous slides and play area but no swings or monkey bars. There is a gazebo at the far end side of the park. They have a decent middle grass area that's probably good during the summer to lay down and chill but for the cold winter days it was to cold to walk around the one path they have circling the grass area. Not much else to do here unless your a little kid.

Troy H.

Yelp
Very nice park. Especially kids love this place. There are many playgrounds and just a great stop to come with kids. I was also impressed with the bathrooms in this park- very clean and well maintained. They even have a piano on the summer.

Yelp
I love taking my baby to this park. It's perfect for a stroll and I love how its enclosed with lots of shade. It's beautifully landscaped and all around a very nice park.
