They fill the ice with flavors and then add coconut cream on top making each bite such a sweet and cold taste. Service is also great always very attentive and nice. Also felt the shaved ice was much better than açaí bowl.

The flavors are natural juices, or you can get the artificial banana, vanilla or red flavoring if you want. My favorite was the guava or rootbeer float. But honestly, you can’t go wrong! The whipped cream on the lava flow is all coconut and the perfect topping on any flavor. Other optional toppings are mochi, ice cream, coconut shavings and more. Busy spot and opens kind of late for a high tourist location but worth the noon open wait. No AC made the indoors almost unbearable with the high sweaty body count in there. Pretty cool merch wall tho!

best in town tried 3 places this week, this was by far the best. their shaved ice is finer with a milk infusion - quite akin to korean sulbing if you've had it. it was so refreshing after a day of hiking. the love potion #9 was well flavored and not too sweet. the ube was great too, but had a stronger flavor.

I was kinda disappointed. After having the best shave Ice ever on the Big Island in Hilo and was hesitant to try Shave Ice again only after a few days. Unfortunately this did not compare. The ice crystals seemed to big and the flavours did not pop. It tasted too watery and not fruity enough. If I had not tried the ice in Hilo I would still say this tasted like the average shave I've you find anywhere in Hawaii but much better then any place that uses high fructose syrups. I'm very biased after tasting what I tasted in Hilo so take this review with a grain of salt.

This rating is for Love Potion No. 9, as it's the only flavor I chose. DO NOT GET THIS! It has zero flavor for the ice, the strawberries are so frozen you can't even taste them and the syrup was so minimal, it couldn't fix it. The first one I got had spoiled condensed milk so they replaced it for me, but the replacement still was bland and blah. I tried several shaved ice spots in Kaua'i and this was the worst one. I would also say service is pretty brusque and rude so that is another point against this, and the line was long and slow and they make you order by machine if they get too busy to take your order so just use the machine instead of waiting in line. Try Hee Fat's General Store down the street or really any other spot instead.

Had 2 shave ice placed marked to check out on Kauai and this was the first one tried. Unfortunately, this was not good at all... Got the lava flow and everything just tasted generic, not worth it in my book. Clean shop and convenient for the east side near hotel we stayed at, but... Ended up discovering the fantastic shave ice down in Koloa after being disappointed here. That one was worth the drive down to get. Was so sad we only got to get that one twice before end of trip. Come here if want convenience, make the drive down to Koloa for the memorable and best.

Located next to the Safeway, this is the best shave ice in Hawaii! Featuring gourmet flavors, such as the lava flow and triple coconut. I highly recommend their Ube shave ice. Ube cream syrup, which tastes like okinawan sweet potato, (which is not too sweet). Topped with Ube cream and dried coconut flakes. This is by far the best shave ice that I have had!

Still the best shave ice I can ever recall having. The location moved to a brick and mortar location at a shopping center (next to Starbucks) and there's a Safeway in the complex. Easy to find parking right out front. Quick and friendly service. And still very consistent. Don't skip this place. I got the same thing as years ago and I was doing my happy dance in the car. So much so, I fell asleep in contentment on our way to Wailua Falls (husband was driving).

We went here one night because we had heard it was voted the best. We definitely preferred another shaved ice place over this one but if they were to get macadamia nut ice cream with their taro shaved ice it would 100% be the best in our books. Unfortunately they only have vanilla ice cream.

Best shave ice on the island! The texture of the ice was very soft. I ordered the lava flow shave ice and it tasted exactly like it minus the rum. It was quite the portion I will say as my body got really cold before I could finish it. It's perfect for the hottest summer day.

Food: we got 2 flavors of the shave ice. The signature one with pineapple ice and coconut foam, and the other as a full ube. Personally I like the refreshing and light flavor of pineapple but not a big fan of the coconut foam. The Ube one with coconut flakes is pretty well balanced. Service: be prepared to que and wait a bit! Ambiance: nice and cozy

Located in the plaza right next to Subway and ABC store. What strikes as most unique for their shave ice is the haupia foam and Ube foam they have available to top. My favorite is Da Ube One. Toasted coconut flakes and we subbed and put Haupia foam on top. It was delicious. The foam gives the creaminess and cuts through to complement the Ube flavor with coconut. There's only one size offered. It's nice that the storefront has tables inside. You can eat your shave ice comfortably in AC without working that you're not sweating your butt off or the ice melting rapidly. Staff are nice and quick. Overall this is one of the favorites for me on Kauai compared to some of the other places on the island.

Quick service , no tables because they are so busy. But this was so refreshing and yummy would definitely love to come back and try other flavors. Family friendly and plenty of parking

Pretty tasty! Loved the freshness of my fruit syrups! Lots of fun choices. Not the friendliest staff, I wish young adults were being taught to say hello and thank customers nowadays. This is a problem all over tho but I did experience here as well.

Right before leaving Kaua'i, we thought it'd be nice to try one more shave ice place. This one was a bit different from others that we tried. First, they have a premade menu in that flavors are already curated into a shave ice flavor profile. This differs from many other spots that just list each individual flavor in which the customer could combine it themselves. That being said, even after selecting your shave ice from the menu, you then can put add-ons. We got the Da Mango One w/haupia Foam and Vanilla Ice Cream. It was delicious. The haupia (coconut pudding) definitely complemented the mango flavor well. The vanilla ice cream added a nice creaminess to the sweet flavor of the mango. It was definitely refreshingly delicious!

I saw many Shaved ice spots in the area, but I knew that I wanted to come to Wailua. The line was long and they were giving every customer as much time as they needed without pushing them to order fast or rush them in any way. I really loved seeing the staff interacting with kids and letting them make up their mind , which also resulted in us taking more than 30 minutes to get to the front of the line. In the time, I waited, I mentally changed my order at least five times and finally ordered mango with macadamia ice cream. Needless to say it was a delecious treat . I had never had Hawaiian shaved ice before so there is no benchmark for me to compare it to but I was definitely intrigued by the texture and the flavors. There are a few communal tables, and most people were welcoming and happily shared them .One amazing thing that I found was that they have another location right here in Portland and that makes my heart happy because I do look forward to trying them as well.

I ordered 3 different shave ice to share among my friends: dragons blood, triple coconut and da Ube one. I forgot to add haupia foam for an extra $1 after taking a few spoonfuls but the kind gentleman said to bring them back and he will just top them up. That was nice. I was fine with just having it on the side. Taste wise we enjoyed all 3 flavors. The Ube had a good amount of Ube flavoring. The roasted coconut flakes added a nice texture to each bite. The shave ice was light and fluffy. They were not too sweet which we liked.

Shave ice is good. The kids loved it. But nothing spectacular. The only beef I have is that the tables were not clean. There were 4 staff working and it wasn't busy so I was wondering why at least one of them was not wiping the tables. I guess it was a self-cleaning rule? Because I noticed other customers using a spray bottle and rag to clean their tables AFTER we sat down with our shave ice and my 2 year old was licking left-overs from the table. There are other places to get better shave ice. This place gets a lot of hype but it's just overrated in my opinion.

Very tasty local shave ice. The fact that the desserts are not only made with TLC, natural juices and fresh fruits accent each dish. The day we showed up was crowded. The staff didn't seem overwhelmed and took care of each customer with a smile. The store has a modest amount of open space with tables and chairs. Pick up a souvenir to support their efforts.

We came in with a group of six and had high expectations. Everyone has been telling us that this is the go to place. We were not disappointed. We ordered a good variety of things. Açaí bowl, root beer float, almond joy, pina colada, and pineapple coconut. All the food tasted fresh, and was nice to cool down on a hot day. I highly recommend this place. Good service, decent price, and we were served quickly.

This is THE shave ice spot. I was kind of wary because you can't pick the flavors/syrup yourself (preset menu) but oh my lanta, when the ice AND syrup are both amazing and authentic, you know you hit the spot. We came here twice in one day! Once for lunch and once for dessert after dinner. We tried the strawberry mango and the strawberry coconut. If I had to choose one, I'd go with the strawberry mango. It is enough to share with 2 people. It's huge! Prices did increase from previous reviews I read. It's not $8-$8.50/bowl. There's lots of seating areas inside and benches outside. It does get a bit busy but they make your shave ice quick! And if you want more syrup, they will give it to you, just ask....they encourage it. But yes, the ice is soft. The flavors are natural and taste it too! Everything about this place is great. I saw the previous menu options so I was sad I couldn't taste the Strawberry Guava. I've heard other popular flavors are the Lilikoi Cream and Lava Flow so if you need other recommendations, those are great flavors too. But you honestly can't go wrong with any, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

It was alright and come with a few choices, not sure about the little mochi pieces though. We tried the ube, mango, pina colada. They have a pretty good flow of traffic going in and out of the store.

After trying Wailua Shave Ice in Portland, OR, I made sure to get it again! But this time, in Kaua'i! It is seriously one of the best shave ice I've had in Portland and in Kaua'i! They're located in a nice shopping plaza. There is indoor seating. Wailua Shave Ice isn't a place where you mix and match flavors. There is a set menu but trust me, every combo is delicious! It'll make you want to come back the next day(s) to try more! So far, I've had their Lilikoi Dream (it was a special) and the Triple Coconut. Both lived up to their names, the flavors and to my expectations! The ice was soft and flavored so well. The toppings add a nice texture to each shave ice. So if there's a shave ice spot you want to try, I suggest saving this spot when in Kaua'i or Portland!

A homerun Hawaiian shaved ice spot in Kauai! They have more of a unique take with the foam top, and I'm all for it Got the specialty ube shaved ice, perfectly light and fluffy shaved ice, not too sweet, OH SO refreshing. Even the hubby who hates coconut didn't mind the toasted coconut topping, it all worked well Coming back next time I return to Kauai to try more of their flavors! Always a must visit when in Kauai!! We stopped twice during our trip, and the ube was DELICIOUS!! My boyfriend got the root beer float, and it really tasted like a root beer float!! The ube shave ice was complete with the toasted coconut flakes! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and there's plenty of seating! This will forever be one of my favorite dessert places, and I wish there was one in Vegas!!

First off, this place is not a choose your shave ice flavor and toppings. It is pre built shave ice combinations with only a few flavor choices if you just want flavor. With that said we ordered Lilikoi cream, cookies and cream, and calamansi. The Lilikoi cream was a Lilikoi cream syrup with sweet Lilikoi seed toppings. A little disappointed this wasn't sour but very sweet. The cookies and cream my daughter liked. The calamansi one reminded me of the vitamin c tablets you get at the drug store. I don't think it tasted like fresh calamansi which was also disappointing. The ambiance was great considering a lot of shave ice places are outside and hot. This one had bench seating inside with AC. A great place to relax after the beach. The location was good for other food places, shopping, and parking. There is also a Safeway next door for any purchases you may need.

Really delicious shave ice on the island! This location is next to the Starbucks in the Kauai Village shopping center. Their menu offers more fruity flavors...and for the chocolate lovers, they have frozen hot chocolate! I ended up trying the frozen hot chocolate and it was very refreshing on a hot day. Portions are quite big and you could probably share one between two people. Service was quick. There's only a few indoor tables, and I saw a bench outside. Overall, a nice quick stop for an afternoon snack!

THE best shaved ice I've ever had and I've had bingsu in Seoul and shaved snow in Taipei so I know my shaved ice! I only wish my stomach had more room to order another bowl.

Shave ice unlike any ive eaten, and i grew up on oahu. Lots of creaminess, good flavors, beautiful to look at. However, i wouldve preferred old fashioned shaving ice like i grew up with.

Their treats are themed on classic island and mainland flavor profiles, can't say any were a disappointment. I found the island flavors are lighter, chocolate is a really strong flavor with shaved ice. Wailua Shave ice is popular with locals and tourists. With only a few tables in the store, you may not be able to sit down immediately and if you wait to start eating, you may be drinking it. Quick melting, this is not a treat for a casual stroll. It is well worth the visit, enjoy.

Walked for something simple, like strawberry mango. That was all. Can't go wrong right?? WRONG!! This is for the young ladies who are making these desserts. 1) Please try the juice or puree before serving it to your customer. It definitely needed to be sweeter. Not sure how you're suppose to achieve that but I shouldn't be eating a glacier with a hint of fruity flavor. It was so bland. 2) Understand that when you make these desserts that just because the juice color has immersed into the ice, doesn't mean there's enough. Please add more juice or flavored liquid to your orders. Colored water isn't enough! I want to taste the fruit, not the freezer. Imagine eating a not so riped watermelon that's barely sweet and barely red. Yes, that's what I had tonight. 3) When using Apple Pay to make my purchase, it would not let me skip the "tip" portion. It forced me to add a pre calculated tip. C'mon don't do that to your customers!

If you're in Hawaii and you're a fan of shaved ice and açaí bowls this place is a must try. They're one of the authentic places to get both these items. The neighborhood is so cool that you'd see lot of surfers and beach goers there. Perfect for any weather but best for summers. They're super fast in service and definitely recommend a lot of flavors based on your taste.

I've had shave ice before, but this was a big round ice ball with the flavors of choice! I tried the ube, so the shave ice was like a snowball covered with Ube cream. My friend tried the lava which was all pineapple and other fruit flavor syrups, where the ice absorbed all the flavor really well as compared to ube. I did enjoy ube, but since it's more creamy. It was good when I scooped some ice along with the external cream cover. In the end there was more ice than the flavor, which I probably wouldn't prefer if I knew. The quantity, menu options, make n service was great and is a must visit while at Kauai.

I have had shave ice in Hawaii before and it is amazing but this shave ice is literally the best I have ever had!!! It's phenomenal!! When we ordered the lady welcomed us and was so nice! They even decorated for Christmas. They had so MANY awards for best shave ice! Definitely go here!

This time we tried the açaí bowls, and they were fantastic! They load them with toppings, and it was just a great flavor combination.

As great as always, but avoid anything with the chocolate sauce...it just doesn't work. It's like they added some weird tasting coffee in it. The texture and look of the sauce are great, but the taste is just off. It doesn't even taste bad, it just doesn't work with shave ice. It overpowers everything so it's like you're having a mocha chocolate milk. If you enjoy that, go to town, not for me though! Every fruit flavor is amazing though, stick with the fruity stuff like Lava Flow.

I really enjoyed the ice I had and so did my family. Their ice is very soft and they leave no chunks. I enjoyed my Dragons Blood and the Lava Flow. My son really liked the Root Beer Float. The only downside is you can't create your own flavor but the ones they have are delicious!

Omg, of the 3 places we tried in East Kauai, this was my favorite. We actually went here twice in a week. Ice is super light and fluffy. I had Da Ube One with vanilla ice cream the first time and it was AMAZING. How can I do research on shave ice if I have the best one first? Next time I had the mango one with mochi - super tasty syrup and again that airy, heavenly ice. Standard deli style ordering and pick up, fast for shave ice thanks to their high tech ice shaver. Air conditioned store with a couple of kids tables with toys and picnic tables for the adults. Also a few benches outside but be warned, with that fluffy ice, it melts wicked fast in the Hawaiian sun. It was our first shave ice and my favorite of the 3 we tried.

Found on Yelp and was so worth it! It's in a shopping center so easy parking. The place is big with inside and outside seating. The people were really nice recommending different item but we went with the classic rainbow. It was so good and quickly made. The shirts and stickers are really cute. Prices are good, the rainbow was $5. Next to an ABC store for after eating shopping.

Delicious! Lots of flavors come with the foam cream on top that is really good. The Ube and the Lava flow were both delicious. If we were staying closer, i would definitely have stopped in multiple times. Service was quick and friendly, and there are places to eat inside. Prices are reasonable, and I'm really glad we tried this place out! Love me some Hawaiian Shaved ice!

When the weather gets warm, you simply must visit Wailua Shave Ice! Their shaved ice is made from flaky and soft ice, and the flavors are simply unbeatable. I tried the Lava Flow with Haupia topping and a Classic Rainbow with mochi pieces. The Lava Flow has a pineapple syrup with chunks of pineapple and strawberries. Everything here is made fresh every day, and the staff are super friendly. This place has a really authentic local vibe. You won't find a better shave ice experience anywhere!

Honestly the BEST on the entire island. We've tried *almost* every shave ice place from here and north- nothing beats Wailua. We make the drive out of our way to enjoy Da Ube One. There's always seats available here and parking is plentiful. I wish the seats were a bit more comfortable but honestly the least of my concerns- it's SO good. The foam is delicious, the texture of the ice is amazing, the team here are super quick & efficient & friendly!

Shave ice is velvety... smooth and delicious! Service is friendly and fast. It is a must to go to Wailua shave ice.
