While visible from the roadside, it's worth the third-of-a-mile trek to the overlook. When conditions are just right, a rainbow arcs from the falls' base into the mist. While the pool below can fill to 30 feet deep, dives have proven fatal here, so keep your feet planted solidly on the ground....and not just any ground! The county advises against hiking the steep and often muddy trail to the bottom."
