"Wailua Falls Best known from the opening credits of the 1970s TV hit Fantasy Island , this graceful 173-foot ribbon of whitewater remains one of the most accessible cascades on Kauai. While visible from the roadside, it's worth the third-of-a-mile trek to the overlook. When conditions are just right, a rainbow arcs from the falls' base into the mist. While the pool below can fill to 30 feet deep, dives have proven fatal here, so keep your feet planted solidly on the ground....and not just any ground! The county advises against hiking the steep and often muddy trail to the bottom."

Best falls on the island for us, beautiful, big, cascading water into a pool, jungle landscape, easy access to see from parking lot. Wish we could hike to bottom but they stopped that after a tourist death.

Wailua Falls is a very beautiful location! It is a little bit out there to get to and you have to hike down a muddy path to get down to the bottom of the falls. It is a very Scenic beautiful area to go to! We definitely recommend hiking to This falls for the sheer beauty of the area!

Lovely double waterfall. Sad several have reviewed, the road leading to the falls is narrow with heavy vegetation in each side. Just slow down, it's not that far. Vegetation is also overgrown at the lookout so there were only a few feet of unobstructed views - but they made the drive worthwhile!

Was a little disappointing as its not the greatest road, the lush landscape was overgrown and made it hard to get a good view of the waterfall, and its forbidden (even though some still do it) to hike down the cliff to get a better look. I have no regrets about going to see it, though.

Beautiful waterfalls, good to drive in the morning, parking is very limited. You can't get closer to the waterfalls, the property is fenced. The waterfalls can be seen easily from the viewpoint near the parking lot.

Beautiful view and scenic roads leading there. Not allowed to hike to the waterfall so it’s just a look out, but it is definitely worth the trip.

Looked beautiful from above. Super bummed that like a lot of naturally beautiful kauai falls, they were closed for access. People say it's because of liability issues or recent deaths/injuries. However, we saw 10 local kids slip under the fence right in front of 20 of us and go down to the falls. We thought about following but I didn't feel like getting a ticket or getting arrested on my vacation...lol

Beautiful falls! You can only see the falls from the viewpoint overlooking them. I think the road to accessing the falls at the bottom is closed. But they are beautiful just looking at them from a distance. There is a small parking lot. It was quite cramped when I was there - it holds about 10 cars comfortably. It's hard to get out of the parking lot if it's busy.
