The W South Beach blends beachfront luxury with a lively vibe, offering stylish suites, ocean views, upscale dining, and an exciting nightlife scene.
"What’s to love: The design-forward, all-suite W South Beach is a more mature representation of the W brand thanks mainly to a calming aesthetic, defined by natural oak furnishings, beach house-style millwork, and a mingling of earth tones with pops of coral and teal. Views of the Atlantic Ocean abound, whether through the floor-to-ceiling windows or from the balconies found in every room. Of course, there’s a great lounge-y vibe across the common areas and a sizzling pool scene—it is a W, after all. But the hotel is far more elevated than your standard W fare with features like a multi-million dollar art collection in the lobby and extensive programming including yoga sessions, high-interval training, cocktail-making classes, plus cigars and convo with the property’s beloved General Manager (and cigar aficionado) Rick Ueno. Romance factor: Book a relaxing massage in the couple’s room at the 9,000-square-foot Away Spa, where all treatments come with a bonus 30 minutes for luxuriating in the private, oversize steam shower. Alternate between beach time along the W’s dedicated stretch of sand and pool time in a private cabana. Sip on sunset cocktails at Irma’s, the hotel’s tropical outdoor bar, then dine at one of Miami’s top tables. (We recommend Klaw in Edgewater for a seductive, memorable affair and Delilah in Downtown for a jazz-heavy, Miami glam supper club experience.) Get there: A 20-minute ride from Miami International Airport" - Paul Rubio
"A splashy, sun-soaked high-energy resort and nightlife destination, the W South Beach has always managed the delicate dance of being a luxe cosmopolitan hotel with a penchant for hosting celebrities and the fashion set, while also appealing to discerning travelers who prefer not to post every moment of their stay on social media. The 400 rooms here are the largest guest rooms in South Beach, each with balconies and expansive ocean views. The recent renovation give the rooms a brighter feel with beach house-style millwork, natural oaks, neutral textures and a beige color palette with accents of soft corals and shaded teals. High-tech elements, like circadian lighting with three preset mood modes and under bed lights, are a futuristic flourish. A complimentary art tour is offered to guests as part of the resort fee and even if you’re not a gallery lover it’s worth perusing the hotel’s $50 million contemporary art collection with 21 original pieces by Andy Warhol, three of which are collaborations with Jean-Michel Basquiat." - Sara Liss, Jennifer M. Wood
"This Collins Avenue behemoth is so quintessentially South Beach it’s already hard to imagine what the city was like without it. It’s sunnier and airier than the usual W, but it’s perfectly suited to the site, with 312 studios and suites subtly mixing hints of Art Deco with their modern take on luxe glamour." - The MICHELIN Guide
"This hotel features studios and suites with hints of Art Deco mixed with modern luxe glamour. The pool deck offers an infinity-edged Atlantic view, and the beach is just a 2-minute walk away." - The MICHELIN Guide
