"Viveros is just a few blocks away from Coyoacán’s main square. This huge wooded area is a popular spot for morning runners. Its main circuit is well-maintained and stretches for a mile and a half with several other trails crossing the forest in all directions. The area serves as a nursery of trees and is an important part of the reforestation efforts in Mexico City." - MATADOR_NETWORK

"Viveros de Coyoacán, Coyoacán by Leolab. With over 100 years of existence, Viveros de Coyoacán is a National Park administered by the Federal Government through the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, where plant production is carried out and the main objective is donating trees to reforest the entire metropolitan area of Mexico City. The various tree species available at the Viveros de Coyoacán, are given to the various sectors that make up our society: public, private, local, federal, school, organizations, among others. All with the aim of further contributing to the conservation of our environment. Currently the Viveros de Coyoacán is one of the great lungs of Mexico City. It also has a 2.5km track that’s ideal for you if you wish to disconnect from the noisy rhythm of the city. If you feel like buying beautiful plants and flowers, this is the right place to do it."

A really nice park in the area of Coyoacan. A full gravel jogging trail along with walking trails cross crossing the park. The park is fenced in with a limited number of entries with security stations. So feels pretty safe overall

Nice forest, lots of runners. FYI the security guards don’t let you in with any food whatsoever, even if you have no intention of eating it in the park and it’s just in your bag. They were aggressive about it too which wasn’t nice

A beautiful park to just enjoy the forest and wildlife. Disconnection from tech is encouraged.

If you are a serious runner, this may be the best place in Mexico City. The soft unpaved, flat paths go on for miles and they are mostly shaded. Dogs don't seem to be allowed. The scenery is beautiful. There are police stationed at every entrance so it seems very safe. Of course you still have to deal with the altitude but there's nothing to be done about that. There is also a very interesting flower/ plant mart in the northeast corner of the park that has fantastic offerings.

Google
Really wonderful and well-kept park. No drinks or food allowed. It is gates and guarded by police. This seems to work wonders because the park was immaculate, a true forest vibe. Tons of people exercising and running. Great respite for my lungs while visiting the city.

Magnificent place to take a time out and just walk around the grounds and behind the woods... a place for nature lovers... amazed to see such a peaceful place amidst busy Mexico City. Prepare for long walk along the perimeter. Take some peanuts for the cute little, lovely and most friendly, squirrels who would follow you on the woods! Don't forget to enjoy this beautiful place when you get a chance.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in the world! I was in AWE coming here and seeing such beautiful greenery... it felt magical. Also, Viveros de Coyoacán has the widest variety of squirrels I've ever experienced. Like seriously, I thought Google Maps was joking, but there were black, brown, red squirrels, I don't even know. They scurried up and down trees like ants. It was insane. Check out the cactus, hedge-lined paths, and open spaces. The park is impressively clean, and I'm actually learning a ton about this place through other Yelp reviews. Apparently it's a tree nursery to reforest the city. Come here for some quiet time, whether a few minutes or a few hours. Take a break from all the hubbub, and kick it with the squirrels.

Yelp
We wandered through Viveros de Coyoacan - a public park in Coyoacan - when we were exploring the area. It's a nice park - definitely would be great for locals who want a place to run, walk, or exercise (we saw a lot of runners in Viveros)! It's not as great of a park for tourists to explore (unlike more touristy parks - with gorgeous fountains and memorials), but it's a pretty place for a walk. We figured it was a nicer walk to go through the park to get from the center of Coyoacan to the metro station, but you can't exit wherever you like (there are certain entrance/exit points to the park). A nice place for a walk though!

Yelp
Magical place for a walk, a run, getting a break from the city sounds. Cute squirrels all around, folks wearing masks and very quiet on a Thursday afternoon.

Yelp
It's not only a public park, it's also a tree nursery. The purpose of the nursery is to reforest the city. The park is constantly busy since it is basically the only place where you can escape the city life. There are numerous jogging trails. So, you'll see plenty of people jogging and walking along these paths. You'll also see people practicing yoga and martial arts or taking a nap on the grounds or feeding the squirrels. Speaking of squirrels, did you know black squirrels exist? Well, this park is full of those little fellows in all colors. They are extremely tame. Be careful because they will climb up your jeans. I should know. 5 stars.

Yelp
Nice park to walk around and see nature and so many different types of trees. I've seen so many squirrels in my life. We went on a Saturday morning and there were dozens of people jogging or doing yoga. Beware: do not buy nuts by the entrance because there's a sign inside the park that asks to NOT feed the squirrels. Before I bought the bag of walnuts I asked if I could feed them and they said of course.

Yelp
Tucked away in CDMX, you will find Viveros de Coyoacán: a public park that is also a nursery for the rest of the city. In Viveros, you'll find so many types of trees growing and so many people enjoying their day there. There's people running along the path, people taking picnics, and tourists like myself! My family and friends enjoyed walking through the park as we had some time before our reservation for the Frida Kahlo Museum. I do want to let you know though: The squirrels must be used to human beings feeding them. I mean, they literally come up to you. Don't feed them. There's SIGNS saying it and you should definitely heed their warnings. I mean, squirrels and other rodents still carry the bubonic plague (that's right, the PLAGUE) and possibly rabies. So, just don't do it. I'm sure you can get a great photo of the squirrels though. Another thing is that you might want to be wary of certain people, like in any place. This strange gentleman from another country pestered my boyfriend and me about fixing his WiChat thinking we were Chinese tourists and when he found out we were American straight-up asked us to help him get a visa. Yikes! We zoomed out of there real quick and rejoined our group of 9 people. Despite the unusual meeting with the strange guy, the park is a great way to spend your day in CDMX.

Yelp
A popular park for runners and walkers. You walk/run along a tree-lined flattened dirt path. Not quite rugged, and a bit crowded when we visited (late on a Sunday morning), but a nice place to refresh yourself before or after the Frida Kahlo Museum and Leon Trotsky House Museum, both of which are a short walk away.

Yelp
I cannot say enough how much I love this place. A forest in the middle of the city is a treasure, more so in being an active nursery growing various tree species. The exterior circular path is 1.2 miles, one can dive off the main path to any number of tree lined trails and discover treasures such as altars, stone statues, and wooden chairs to take rest. Wifi connections are interspersed throughout the park so you are never too far away from that Yelp review or Facebook status update. I come here daily and plan to continue doing so while in the city. Be sure to visit if you come to Coyoacan for the Frida or Trotsky museums.

Yelp
I hadn't been there before, but after seeing a picture of it, I knew I had to go. Turned out to exceed all expectations. Yes, it's just a park, but it's a really nice park with lots of trees!! It's very well shaded there a lot of people running around exercising while we were there. It really feels like you're somewhere else, it doesn't feel like you're in the middle of the city. That's when you know you're in a good park!

Yelp
For a park smack-dab in the middle of a metropolis like Mexico City, the Viveros is impressive. I was beginning to train for a marathon when I was living near the Viveros and used the park to do all my runs -- from 3 miles all the way to 10. Each time around the outer track is about 1.2 miles and there are always other running companions around you!
