When I went to Iceland in January 2025, I bought chocolate from that shop. It was so delicious, but I don't know the name of the chocolate. 😭 If you're going after reading this review, definitely try the chocolate in the pink matte packaging! A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Reykjavík! Such great service – warm, friendly, and personal. This charming old candy store is packed with a fantastic variety of sweets, from classic Icelandic treats to international favorites. You can really feel the history and love in every corner of the shop. A must-visit if you’re in downtown Reykjavík – it’s like stepping into a cozy, sugary time machine. Highly recommended!

I visit Vinberid for the truffles every time I’m in Reykjavik. I have not found any like them in all my travels, you must try them. I promise you wont be disappointed, but I can guarantee you’ll be hooked.

Yup, this place is a straight up candy shop. Icelandic, mainland European, and American options can all be found here. Big variety, but they come at a price. If you are patient, you can find most of the things in this store at other markets for cheaper.

A great little chocolate shop on the outskirts of the crazy souvenir shopping area. The large Easter eggs are great and they have an amazing selection of chocolate bars and truffles.

The store really is nice with a variety of great candies. The internet went down and the transactions had to be cash, but the store was kind enough to accept Euros. The staff was friendly and patient.
