Verve, a Santa Cruz-born coffee haven, flaunts a sleek space in LA with ample seating, direct-trade brews, and a lively outdoor patio perfect for socializing.
"Verve Coffee Roasters, located at 8925 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, is transforming into Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet Cafe from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 15, 16, and 17 as part of a promotion with a fintech app. The space will be redesigned for the pop-up, drawing inspiration from Carpenter’s latest album. If the Los Angeles event is anything like the one that took place in New York City in late September, attendees can anticipate an all-blue color palette, plenty of heart motifs, and even photo opportunities outside the coffee shop for those waiting in line. The beverage line-up includes drinks like the Dumb & Poetic latte, made with lavender, honey, a double shot of espresso, and oat milk, and the Common Sense chai, a tea-based riff on a PSL with pumpkin syrup, oat milk, and an optional shot of espresso. Carpenter merchandise like mugs, hoodies, and T-shirts is also available to purchase. Cash App Visa cardholders receive 30 percent off when using their card for one transaction, with a maximum discount of $40." - Cathy Chaplin
"Verve's Melrose location is prime real estate for A-List celebrity sightings, but that's not what coaxes people into spending $20 on a latte and pre-packaged chia pudding. The reason Verve is a feeding ground for West Hollywoodians that love to look busy is its spacious outdoor patio. It's a popular venue for Weho power meetings, especially if you're an entertainment exec or real estate broker trying to get on reality TV. That means you’ll eavesdrop on plenty of boring conversations about work drama and bad Raya dates. The coffee, however, is still some of the city's best." - sylvio martins
"These guys are actually based in Santa Cruz but they recently expanded into Los Angeles with two locations—one on Spring Street in the Arts District and, most recently, on Melrose in West Hollywood. No matter which location you pick, you'll find reliable internet and plenty of seating housed in a sleek, urban-feeling space. Verve also practices direct trade with farmers who source their coffee beans—an important (and very difficult to execute) practice that allows them to exceed Fair Trade minimums when they pay farmers for their goods."
