Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate

We visited VL for a wine tasting lunch arranged by #silversea cruises. It was wonderful. We enjoyed each of their wines, and especially their Rosé. Lunch was a series of shareable small plates, each of which was tasty. My favorite was the barbecued pork rinds. Like having scrumptious spare ribs back home without the bone. Hope to find their wines for sale in the US.

Today we did wine tasting and cheese platter followed by the most delicious meal at Geuwels at Vergenoegd Löw The Wine Estate. What a lovely wine estate, quaint steeped in history and their ducks 🦆 which waddle into the fields to fertilize the vines are so cute (see video below). Thank you to NOLU who provided great insights into their wines - your service was impeccable. Highly recommend this wine estate 🍇

In our stay ti SA, this place is number 1. Room - we were supposed with an upgrade. Fantastic! Comfortable! Cosy! Territory is big, and many places to walk. Ducks 🦆- this is hotel signature. Can’t tell more, This must be seen. Food - super good. Wine testing - out of all we visited in SA - at the highest level. Facility - this is an old farm, renovated with such a good taste (compliment to the owner). Everything to details, again, it can not be described, need to be seen. To our surprise, we booked it for New Year, and we didn’t have plans. We were offered to join NY Eve. What a cultural shock and gastronomic orgasm we received. Live clasic music on welcome, Jaz band during dining, wine paring was on the house (thanks to the owner again), cigars…. Fantastic evening. Wonderful stay! We will remember it long. If we came again to SA, we must visit it again! At least we will be back to buy wine and see ducks :)

We had the most incredibly relaxing, luxurious experience at the spa and thought we'd grab a quick bite to eat. The service wasn't really great and the food vs the price charged was very average unfortunately.

We had been at the Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate for 3 events. Winetasting (Opskop winetasting) jazz concert (jazz under the stars) and the musical journey. All of them have been outstanding. Food, service, location and the quality of the music had been on a super high level. Entrance fee was very reasonable to what we received. We must say, these events did add something very special to our time at the Western Cape. All musicians did came from South Africa. This had been African culture at his very best. Our big "thank you" goes to the entire stuff at Vergenoed and the investor Mr. Prof. Dr. Peter Löw. Please, please keep on going!

Amazing wine tasting experience with a lot of insight. Felt good to have someone present with passion and interest and to speak to us as though we want to listen and learn all about it. Very well done!

Lovely wine estate with a rich history. We enjoyed sitting outside having a cappuccino and watching the ducks go by. They use the ducks as a natural way to control insects and pests on the vineyard. The kids love it.😀🦆
