Verdugo Bar is your go-to spot for a chill vibe, featuring a rotating lineup of craft beers, an inviting patio, and food trucks for a laid-back hangout.
"No matter what, there’s always that one person in the group who refuses to pay one cent above what they owe. Avoid that situation at Verdugo Bar, the excellent Glassell Park spot where everyone can sit outside, drink craft beer, and order individually from whatever food truck they want. The lineup rotates nightly, so be sure to check their Facebook or Twitter beforehand, because your friend will no doubt have something to say about that, too." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, brett keating
"With its roomy, semi-private backyard patio, Verdugo Bar has long been one of the most underrated places to drink outside on the Eastside. It’s the kind of place you wind up at after being turned away from five other spots in Silver Lake and you kick yourself for not coming here first. The crowd is calm and casual, the craft beer selection is excellent, and there’s always a good food truck hiding out back." - brant cox
"You’re over waiting in all the lines and elbowing your way to a crowded dance floor. You want a cool spot with great beer and good music, where you and your friends can just hang all night. Verdugo Bar is that place. Located in Glassell Park, Verdugo doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside is a great 1930’s-era lounge and a back beer garden you’d never know existed. 22 craft beer taps, live music and DJs, and food trucks on premises will only add to an already great night." - brant cox, brett keating
"This Glassell Park bar doesn’t look like much from the outside, but head inside and out the back, you’ll find a biergarten you probably never knew existed. They’ve got 20 beers on tap, including some hard-to-find stuff from places like Kern River Brewing, and DJs playing music you actually want to listen to. You can also get rowdy here on a weeknight, if you want to - they always have deals on picklebacks, and affordable shots of good whiskey. Technically, there’s no food here, but there always a few food trucks parked out front." - brant cox, brett keating
"Verdugo is where you go when you’re rolling deep on a Saturday, but you don’t feel like dealing with the crowds in Silver Lake or Downtown. Located off a side street in Glassell Park, Verdugo has a fantastic back patio, a big craft beer selection, and a weekend Happy Hour that runs from 3-7pm. While they don’t serve any food, there’s always a few food trucks out back for when your body is crying out for nourishment." - brant cox
