"Veganista is one of the best ice cream parlours in Vienna. They only serve vegan ice cream which changes by season and availability. No doubt: The ice cream is tasty and delicious! The small parlour is painted in beautiful pastel colours and invites you to come in, order a scoop or two and enjoy it outside walking up the beautiful Margartenstraße towards the 4th district." - Catherine Hazotte

It’s nice to have the option of a vegan ice cream on a hot day, but the flavours we tried (basil and poppy seed) were not very flavourful and the texture was quite watery and thin. It tastes like vegan ice cream of 15+ years ago, which is disappointing because vegan ice cream has come a long way since then. I’m not sure why this is so well rated except that Vienna might not have any other vegan ice cream, so maybe there is no local comparison and people don’t realize it can be better than this. It’s relatively inexpensive to get a small cone so if you’re hot and want to cool off it’s fine, but I likely wouldn’t eat it again.

There is no doubt that this is the best vegan ice cream shop in town! I love this place so much that I go there every week. Every day they offer one special type of ice cream which they announce on Instagram (worth checking ;)) but the daily offer has great variety in taste too. I can highly recommend nocciola (hazelnut) and cookies. Besides the regular ice cream you can also get 3 different types of cookie ice cream sandwiches (the best one is called ‘cookie cookie cookie’) and also ice cream for take away in a box.

2 scoops ice-cream : 5.40 eur. Friends explained to me the fraud of "special flavours" that costs more and none tells you until you pay. Really a desperate, cheap trick. Very few flavours available. Ice-cream anyways very average, there are good Italian places around, better to go there and ignore this one.

Yelp
Vienna was at the forefront on Planet Earth in offering vegan ice cream alternatives many years ago. One of the earliest shops was Veganista which only serves up vegan ice cream. There are now a few Veganistas around Vienna and fortunately one of them is on one of the main shopping street near me. Though I have a couple of wonderful ice cream parlors nearer to me which I love, sometimes I walk a little bit further to eat some Veganista Eis. The ice cream is delicious ... and creative. The other night I walked there to try out one of their famous flavors - Blueberry Lavender. The Eis was totally fruity & flavourful....two thumbs up!! Last year at Veganista, I heard the mother of a family who was there for the first time ask her husband if he thought the kids would be okay with vegan ice cream. He replied, "I can guarantee you they will like this ice cream." I watched the kids eagerly lick their ice cream cones. He was right!

Yelp
I'm not a fan of vegan ice cream but I figured I'd give it a try. It wasn't bad just not as good as the real thing. Lots of fun flavor options move it up a star!

Yelp
Delectable vegan ice cream with a huge selection of different bases (coconut, cashew, etc.) and great flavors. Would recommend to anyone, whether vegan or not. Especially if you've been hitting the Austrian restaurants hard and you're consuming your weight in Käsespätzle and you need a lactose break. So in other words: it's not just for vegans. They also have some ice creams flavored with xylitol, for those watching their sugar consumption.

Yelp
The chocolate one was best vegan ice cream I've ever had, tasting *almost* the same as genuine ice cream! Huge plus as well for the option of mixing two different kinds of scoops into one (half and half). Few tips: *It's a bit more expensive than the usual scoop going rate in Vienna (1,70 a scoop instead of 1,40 at Eismacher for example). *Some kinds can taste a bit different from traditional ice cream. To be sure you like the one you get, ask for a tiny löffel to taste :-) *Personally I found blueberry a bit strange, but can recommend chocolate and wild forest.

Yelp
Great little ice cream shop specializing in non-dairy ice cream as the name implies! Had a mix of coffee ice cream with almond

Yelp
I love their ice cream! It is so creamy and delicious. Try their himbeer (raspberry) which tastes almost like sorbet. We also loved the Maroni and Black Forest flavors. Ice cream has never tasted this amazing. Service is friendly. One scoop on small waffle cone or cup is $1.70 euros.

Yelp
MATCHA MATCHA MATCHA I wanna say "best ice cream in Vienna" but there are a million years of tradition that I very much respect, so I must say best "Vegan ice cream in Vienna" That is definitely the case here, where the classic flavors are still where they should be, but new and exciting cups and cones with green tea, Orange-Saffran-Olive, and fig flavor blends bend your mind for a bit and help you survive the summer heat. Or winter frost, just sayin' I am not a Vegan, but I prefer Veganista to any other ice cream in town. It is lighter, fresher, seasonal and after eating I don't feel like I just consumed two large cups of Schlag. The friendliness of the staff is contagious. It's also laid back- even though it gets busy in the summer months.

Yelp
I am in love with their strawberry. If I get a chance to be in Vienna again, I will visit this place, no doubt!

Yelp
I was thrilled to see this cute little place right next door to the hotel we were staying in for our first trip to Vienna. On hot summer days and nights like the extremely warm ones we experienced last month, nothing hits the spot like ice cream, and Veganista did not disappoint! The shop is a tiny, modern place with nothing but a freezer display, register, and a bench against the wall, so plan on taking your treats to go. As hinted at by the name, the ice cream they serve is 100% vegan - something I'd not had before, but was pleasantly surprised at how creamy, flavorful, and delicious it was! All of the flavors are in German, but the employees were very kind and helpful in describing what was in them in English for us. Make sure to get their loyalty card...you'll use it!!

Yelp
My 1st day in Vienna & went here since my son can not have dairy. All the flavored were incredible for Vegan! Love the orange & olive oil mixture & lavender & blueberry mix! My kids had the watermelon & raspberry & chocolate & strawberry, all tasty flavors. Why can't vegan ice cream be this tasty in Tampa, FL! I give this place 2 thumbs up!

Yelp
We were actually staying just around the corner from Veganista, but having coming from Italy just a week ago, we figured that we should cool it on the ice cream. Rookie mistake. Their peach was SO good I cried out a little in joy. They only have it as a seasonal option though, so if you see it get it! We checked the menu every day after we stopped by the first time and peach wasn't available for the rest of the days we were in Vienna. Raspberry was also good.

Yelp
This is probably the best ice-cream I've had in Vienna so far! Their small shop looks so inviting and so do all the different ice-cream flavours. I tried Basilikum which had a very healthy refreshing taste and Maple-Pecan which tasted like peanut butter. My boyfriend tried Matcha and Orange-Saffran-Olive. I am so happy with our choices and I can't imagine if there will ever be anything that can beat this!
