"Emma Feil is well-known around Los Angeles, and for good reason: She’s the master of candid occasion shots—be they weddings, home interiors, birthday parties, or a special portrait of your newborn. Feil manages the impossible with kids—unstaged, active shots of little ones in motion, often looking directly at the camera (not easy). Many of the pictures featured on some of our favorite websites, like Clare V and Ariel Gordon, are stellar examples of Feil’s product-based work. "

Very nice campus. However, the building style are pretty much same styles within the campus. This place is so well maintained it is so clean. I saw at least 10 security guards within my one hour visit. And the whole campus is well confined within its own boundaries. I believe it must be very safe within the campus. It is a private school and has lots of good programs. The tuition is not cheap. I think that is why they can maintain such a good program and environment.

Beautiful campus filled with amazing minds. I really loved the building styles and the way campus is maintained. It’s a tough university to get into for a reason. Best part is the free Lyft rides they offer their students during the night to maintain safety, that is something I have never heard before. I would love to visit this campus again.

Google
A beautiful campus with a Romanesque revival architecture. Makes for a unique scholarly - progressive - modern look. During school season the campus is bursting with life in every corner, while during the summer and off-seasons it is quiet and tranquil. It's not a massive campus but not small either. It takes 10-15 minutes to walk from side to side. Restaurants, cafes and other food and drink places are all around campus, with 3-4 starbucks cafes in and around the campus. The new construction of the USC village has made such a positive contribution to the whole ambience of the campus. Unfortunately, the surrounding area, while improving, is still not the best.

Let’s be honest: USC isn’t just a university — it’s a launchpad. This is where ambition meets infrastructure. Whether it’s business, engineering, film, law, or the arts, USC is elite, unapologetically. You walk onto campus and immediately feel it — the energy, the drive, the expectation to excel. Not just participate. USC means connections. You’re in the heart of Los Angeles — a global capital of tech, media, finance, and culture. Professors aren’t just scholars; they’re industry insiders. Internships? They’re in the same zip code. The Trojan alumni network? One word: untouchable. You say “USC,” doors open. Period. Now, let’s talk UC Davis. It wants to be taken seriously. But it doesn’t deliver. You’re isolated in farmland, surrounded by institutional red tape and academic inertia. It’s a system more focused on containing students than elevating them. You’re not built up — you’re processed. You don’t graduate empowered. You graduate unnoticed. USC demands excellence. Davis deflects it. Try to lead at UC Davis and you’re often met with passive resistance, capped ambition, and a culture that prioritizes playing it safe. Original thinking? Not welcomed. Career focus? You’ll have to build your own path — with little help and fewer resources. And the outcomes? Don’t get fooled by acceptance rates and generic rankings. USC grads are in Silicon Valley, Wall Street, Hollywood — leading. UC Davis grads? Often undersold, underpaid, and under-networked. ROI? At USC, you’re investing in power. At Davis, you’re paying to be forgotten. Yes, USC is competitive, it’s intense, and it’s expensive — but you get what you pay for. A degree that commands respect. An ecosystem that fuels ambition. A campus alive with opportunity. So let’s get this straight: USC creates game changers. UC Davis creates complacency. USC builds brands. UC Davis blends you into the background. If you’re choosing between the two — don’t settle for a lesser UC Davis…

Terrible, terrible school. The faculty pretends like their students matter, then blatantly ignore the deeper problems of their students that take time to address. If you have a problem, they will not deal with it. If you try to complain, they will silence your complaints. If you are harassed, they will pretend like it never happened. If you want a chance at a future, do not go here.

If you're looking for a stunning campus with a rich history and world-class facilities, look no further than the University of Southern California (USC). This prestigious university boasts one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, with a mix of stunning architecture, lush greenery, and modern amenities that create a truly unforgettable experience. One of the highlights of USC's campus is the architecture. From the stunning red brick buildings of the original campus to the modern glass-and-steel structures of the new buildings, every inch of the university is designed with both beauty and functionality in mind. The iconic Bovard Auditorium, the ornate Doheny Memorial Library, and the sleek and modern Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism are just a few of the many buildings that make up this breathtaking campus. But it's not just the architecture that makes USC such a special place. The university is also incredibly well maintained, despite being located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The lawns are always impeccably manicured, the buildings are sparkling clean, and the walkways are well-lit and easy to navigate. Despite being located in the middle of a bustling city, the campus feels like a peaceful oasis. The tall palm trees, colorful flowers, and bubbling fountains create a tranquil environment that is perfect for studying, relaxing or just hanging out.

Google
USC was a prestigious private research university in LA. The University Park campus was a fenced campus that was uncommon in American universities (The Rockefeller University was fenced and closed to the public). Due to the pandemic, all visitors would receive temperature checking and answer questions on the virus infection symptoms. Campus looks clean and beautiful with the majority of the red-brick buildings uniformly erected on the campus in which more than a dozen schools and institutes were set inside.

Yelp
One of my favorite institutions in LA!!! Love USC campus. The USC village is spectacular too with stores like Sole Bicycles, Target, Trader Joe's, FedEx, etc !! Amazing food options to choose from too .

Yelp
Founded in 1880 by Robert MacClay Widney, USC is the oldest private research university in California. I didn't attend this prestigious University; however, I joke that I am an honorary alumna. My brothers from another mother all graduated from here, and I attend Homecoming with them every year. In fact, I used to work with Eddie Tannenbaum who discovered Traveler (USC's Mascot) when he was a junior in 1961. The campus is beautiful and features several Romanesque Revival style buildings. A portion of the main campus was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. The Coliseum is in walking distance. I've attended many football games here over the years and have seen Clay Matthews, Reggie Bush, Mark Sanchez, & Matt Leinart play. I remember the glory days of Pete Carroll. Our favorite tailgate party is the one hosted by LAMBDA. They have a great DJ, delicious food, a premium bar, fun activities and, of course, fabulous attendees! This year we were treated to yummy eats from Bludso's BBQ & tasty treats by Ice Cream Occasions. When the party was over, we all headed to the Coliseum for the match between the Trojans & the Huskies. Sadly, we lost this game but we will continue to Fight On!

Yelp
What: 30 minute info session and 1.5 hour campus tour. Absolutely gorgeous campus. Unfortunately we weren't able to go inside any of the buildings or see the dorm rooms. There were simultaneous groups going in at the same time so it was a little crazy with the overlapping speeches at times. We were able to dine in the EVK (Everyone's kitchen) dining hall and experience that. Since it's Spring Break most of the students around were international students, which they have a large population here at USC. Parking: $20 for all day. Pay with your phone.

Yelp
Graduated from USC with an MSW- had a lot of great professors and met alot of culturally diverse students. The esthetics of the university is breathtaking, it can be overwhelming to take it all in at once!!! There is so much to do on this campus- with the integration of food eateries on campus and Trader Joes makes the USC experience so much better!!

Yelp
Thought I got lucky to be admitted for graduate school for the USC MPH program in 2000. Didn't realize then it was part of the Trojan family network setup. I tried to do well as a student, alum, and later staff, but aside from USC PT, I did not meet folks that are worthy of praise. Even as the Communications Chair, as to get accredited for CHES we were to demonstrate student involvement. The webpage and newsletters I created are now on archive and somehow my UCLA computer science ex was able to find the site. CHES helps those in the health promotion track and to see the program advertised for fewer units when debt to this school is 75% of my debt and I graduated almost 20 years ago. Even as Communications Chair, meeting up with the Gradate Student Professional Senate, was told I was looking a gift horse in the mouth when I wasn't onboard to take the MPH funds for each student, which already was not much to Mammoth for the student leadership, however they allocated the funds, I wish they told me prior to the trip. I did alert the incoming chair of the improper accounting Lots of improper stuff in the Preventive Medicine department, which is an oxymoron considering there is no business in healthcare if the target isn't to put indigent patients on the tertiary care track if they have good insurance or the LAC+USC where residents get to practice on the indigent that end up at the level 1 trauma center, or have medicare/med-cal Two PM statisticians are a disgrace. Mark Krailo couldn't keep his eyes where mine are and I made a complaint and what does Stanley Azen say when I don't feel like doing the $800/unit (part of school of medicine) tells me to stick around for awhile, well, I stuck around and was defamed by Mark and Judith Everett of Children's Oncology Group. All the consortium pediatric hospitals I would work at, part of the group, continued retaliation that kept on after I was wrongfully terminated. Azen married his student who is chair of Info Sci at City of Hope where I was sterilized. Escalated to an NCI designated cancer center, for a hysterectomy. When my "mentor" Smita Bhatia's pet suggested we have dinner with Niland and Azen, I didn't feel it, and my gut played my cards right. As I learn of how people set other's up through social engineering, I see the shenanigans USC did, using a student to Troy into my life. My experience here, is this is the University of Spoiled Children and I benefited from the privilege, but was set up by the Trojan family. Thought KSOM was good, as my PCP was trained there, but even Tina Yang, MD who trained rotation under my PI, Thomas Chen, MD, PhD, set me up and didn't manage my health or pain. That's the point, I have suffered so much and to learn the most recent assault is Methodist of Arcadia is now part of USC. I should have whistle blew the unethical contracts and kick backs from industry that happened while staff in Neurological Surgery, but I kept hoping my life would change for the better, well, not if I'm constantly being told to keep my head down and stay under the radar, or I am a moving target, this kind of feedback helped me know, the Trojan family network is trying to shoot me down, they can have the degree back, Navient can forgive my loans for the deceit that I was getting experience in data analyses, not when Bhatia only showed me Jonathan Buckley's USC home grown case-control system the USC MPH biostatistics/epidemiology track did not use. Unless you want to feel like you bought a degree, get privileges poor students don't if they cannot be accepted into a private school that doesn't have 400 students in a core class, despite Regents shenanigans, I would still go public. Especially, seeing what privilege gets, corruption and unethical favors. Neurosurgery couldn't terminate me legally as my performance, attendance, and effort was fine, so USC lured me to their sister hospital CHLA so I could be let go during probation, right before Christmas. Happy Independence Day, my reproductive rights, 4th amendment violated by police, so Glendale Adventist can take away my 2nd amendment, so now I exercise my 1st amendment as the only freedom I have. This place tricks and Troys

Yelp
U.S.C. gets it right all the way down to the little things! Academic advising is fantastic here...you will feel supported. They also really make an effort in housing placements. Spring exploration & summer orientation events are stellar. Cheery staff, sunshine galore, tasty grub...too many perks to list. And don't get me started on the important stuff...U.S.C. just gets it!

Yelp
USC, SC, Trojans! Proud to be an alum of this powerhouse, progressive yet controversial university. Am an active member of the alumni association and am invited frequently to speak to students on various subject matters. My parents always believe in education, higher education and I agree completely. Need to finish this review after I wrap up all my meetings with professors and friends...TBC

Yelp
I can only speak regarding the past experience since I graduated from here back in 2018 that technically pre-pandemic era. In short, you get a good life here and tons of opportunities to meet talented people here. The alumni are wonderful. The fact that I got a lot of job opportunities by just being USC alumni from Marshall business school which I assumed it would be much less if I had gone to another school. Don't stress out for the perfect GPA.. what you get in during the college years are much more important in the life long span. Fight On, Trojans!

Yelp
A great university at a good location with great staff and professors. RAs are communicable with students and very high integrity and standards and upheld and expected at this university.

Yelp
You'll never know how good is the place unless you explored it. Inside the university are huge, modern & fully equipped buildings, categorized by courses & other related administrative offices. Running track, grass field, gymnasium, swimming pools are impressive. And yes they have their own village also open to the public with restaurants, coffee shops like Starbucks, salon, boutique, Target, Trade Joe's, Amazon & more. Parking at Shrine for $14 whole day or metered ones.

Yelp
Fighton! The most beautiful campus in the world. It still seems surreal that I get to walk this campus consistently as a masters student. It's truly gorgeous in every sense of the word. Obviously, we've had our troubles and issues with the admissions scandal and the reputation as the University of Spoiled children. But there's so much more to USC than that. It is one of the best universities in the world, one of the most elite universities in the United States with an extremely low admission rate and home to one of the most diverse student bodies on the planet. If you get a chance, definitely take a tour of the place. Bring comfortable walking shoes. Unfortunately, despite the immense wealth of most people who attend the university and its prestige, the area around USC isn't the best, so be aware of your surroundings

Yelp
Local applicant here. I haven't gotten in yet after several tries, but that wont stop me. I'll try again later to get in for the MFA. USC, despite all its scandals, has a network and connections that make other public universities (particularity ones approximately 15-30 minutes away...) look like a bad joke. I am ashamed of my current university because they have none of the connections that USC has. Please do not let critical race theory, BLM, or corruption infect this amazing institution. USC is Number One for a reason.

Yelp
Beautiful campus and helpful staff. I was recently extended an offer into their MBA program with Marshall so this review will likely be updated after I complete the program. However, my experience to date has been great. I worked w/ an academic counselor who was informative and walked me through the entire application process along w/ next steps post acceptance. They regularly host information sessions that I found useful in terms of reviewing the curriculum, requirements, timelines and cost. Around the time I submitted my application, I took a stroll through the campus and found it enjoyable. I easily located the Trojan statue although it took a bit longer to find Marshall. All in all, great afternoon spent.

Yelp
USC truly is a special place. I really feel like everyone is happy to be there, from the professors to the staff and students. Anything you want to do, they'll help you do it -- whether it's triple-majoring or squeezing in pre-med requirements. I myself got two Bachelors degrees in disparate fields in four years. The entire environment is one of endless support and encouragement. Students are ambitious but not cut-throat, professors are impressive but humble and helpful, staff are so kind. It's easy to make friends in a place where all your peers want you to succeed as well. There are so many amazing resources and opportunities, too: funding for unpaid internships (I received $13000 for my summer internship in DC, which was more than enough to cover rent, flights, and living expenses -- something I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise), amazing experiences abroad (I did the Trans-Siberian railway over spring break through a class at USC and it was one of the best experiences of my life), incredible speakers (Bill Clinton, Gloria Steinem, David Cameron, etc), funding to cover extra units, and the list goes on and on. There are also so many opportunities to give back to the local community in meaningful ways. I made some real connections with people in the community and learned so much about their lives to give me a deeper appreciation of what it means to give back. There are so many scholarships available here I was able to be on almost a full-ride. I even won funding to use at ANY graduate school of my choice -- what other universities offer that? They have staff to help you apply for fellowships and scholarships, as well as internships, and they are so helpful in their advice (especially the Academic Honors and Fellowships Office, who go above and beyond in reviewing your applications). USC is simultaneously a big school and a small one, a party school and a studious one, a football school and a liberal arts school... it has something for everyone and is really what you make of it. It's such a beautiful campus and very clean too -- it keeps getting better over the years! Classes are small and it was easy to get to know every single one of my professors. They all had so many office hours available and were truly happy to see you there. I learned so much and took such a wide variety of classes. The education was incredible and though I graduated a few years ago, I still draw on things I learned from undergrad; I remember the times I walked home from class completely lost in thought as I mulled over what we discussed that day in lecture. As for the student body, it's incredibly diverse (outside of maybe Greek life and from what I've heard of Annenberg and Marshall) -- I had friends from all over the world and from all walks of life. I cannot recommend a place more highly and honestly I feel like I was completely spoiled, but in the best possible way. I have so much love for this place and everyone who helped make it the perfect college experience. I hope to one day give back to USC all to has given to me and more. I could go on and on about USC, but I'm not sure any of it can accurately capture the amount of gratitude I have for it. I feel very lucky.

Yelp
I cannot be a hater. My cousin sent her son, Micah Christenson, to college here at USC. He was the setter for the men's volleyball team, went on to the US Olympic team and is now playing professional volleyball in Italy. One of my best friends sent her son to USC - he ended up staying in California where he was promoted to one of the Vice President positions of Capitol Records. Two of our Yelp Hawaii members (Jamine W. and Russ P.) are so proud of their school that their profile pictures showcase USC memorabilia (such as the statue of Traveler and various USC shirts) ! Recently, I met a Yelper from LA - Schel H. - another loyal alumnus of USC... Why didn't I go to this school? Because my college counselor discouraged all of us from going to "the ghetto". He created this negative idea in our heads! At that time, we were just impressionable, young high school kids... we didn't know any better. So - out of curiosity, I kept asking my LA friends to go with me on a tour of the campus. They all had reasons why they weren't able to be my bodyguard - um - I mean companion... haha! No worries! I have training from work! So I can go by myself! Using my GPS, I entered USC and told the guard that I was a tourist, looking for "the horse statue". He directed me to metered parking stalls straight ahead because driving around campus is complex and I wouldn't be close enough to Traveler (the horse). I passed by a parking structure that seemed to have a flat rate of $12. I spent $1 for about 30 minutes at the first empty stall that I found. Walking briskly towards my goal, I noticed pristine water fountains, beautiful brick buildings, clean sidewalks with tidy landscaping, and many students on bikes and skateboards! Whoa - very busy! I'm sure that there were professors walking along, as well as maintenance and delivery personnel (I saw a USC Bookstore moving van)! At last, I found him... the famous Traveler! He looked like a stoic guardian, gazing in the direction of Tommy Trojan! I quickly snapped some photos! Yay! I tried to get closer to Traveler, but there was a sign that read, "No Climbing". LOL! Shucks! Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go to the bookstore and get a USC shirt. Awwww.... "next time"... I also would like to go to Heritage Hall and touch the Heisman Trophy! Who wants to go with me??? "Fight on!"

Yelp
Came here to hang out at one of the tailgaters tent before the USC vs Colorado football game at the Coliseum. Very nice campus and huge. They have security patrolling around which is cool. It was kinda weird seeing all these people tailgating on campus with their canopy and bbqs going on some had TVs and was watching the Dodgers game which was cool for me to know what was happening. There is a lot of history on campus as well. Also got to see the USC band warming up and playing a bit before going to the game. Overall a very nice campus and lots of walking.

Yelp
I feel like this place hates me a lot and gives me a big headache all the freak'n time. This place even knocks on my brain at 2:00AM in the morning forcing me to finish some tasks that I need to do. I even chase or run to this place in the morning when I wake up late due to the lack of sleep from studying or partying. This place feeds me decent food... it is expensive, but I don't know how I can afford to visit this place all the time. Amidst all of the pain and stress that this place has given to me, I still love this university with a passion. University of Southern California has and will continue to make a positive impact onto my life, no matter how much sorrow it gives me. I have truly grown and learned a lot through this struggling relationship. I have no regrets, except for the fact that this is unfortunately a one-sided love story.

Yelp
Many years ago one time I was riding my bicycle going thru the cross-section of Jefferson Blvd and McClintock Av towards campus as a student, I was riding "diagonally" while the lights were RED on four sides. At that time there were FOUR police officers one at each corner. I was in a hurry so I didn't pay attention to the fact that there were FOUR officers. After I reached the campus side I was immediately called over and given a citation ticket. The ticket says pedestrian on roadway obstructing traffic. It cost me $123. I paid online which cost additional $10 for "the e-Public Access service fee" so total $133. Check photo. I will hold on to this ticket for the rest of my life.

Yelp
USC : University of Spoiled Children . I wish ! I was so not spoiled and yet I am a proud Trojan ! USC has deep roots and is highly regarded for a reason . They have excellent curriculums and professors to prepare their students for success ! Every graduate bestowed the honor of a USC degree is bound be become rich and famous. Hey they may even walk on the moon ! Of course all of this comes with a hefty price . Schools with deep roots mean you better have some deep pockets. Or be able to qualify for a string of loans that you'll be paying off for the rest of your meaningful life . Anyway . GO Trojans !.... I mean Fight on !

Yelp
The University of Southern California. USC. The college where the tuition is actually free, but the fountain and gardening club membership is not. Upon submitting your SIR, you're automatically enrolled in the world's most expensive fountain and gardening club for the next 4 years. Strange that you need AP/IB classes and good academics to get in, but that's what USC wants in their club members. It's part of the exclusive image. I'm just as bewildered as Conspiracy Keanu (see meme that circulated my senior year, circa 2012) yet it makes sense when you think about it. It's also strange that I'm reviewing my alma mater on Yelp. There's a lot of things that are weird in life, but life moves on. I appreciated that the school looked at my application holistically years ago and admitted me. I'm certain I was in the last wave of acceptances as my congrats letter came in the mail in late April. I wasn't even considering USC and was determined to go a top college in the UC system. But hey, life happens. Rather than UCSD Muir College, I ended up here. It's on this campus I learned how to key stab a beer and shotgun it in blazing speed. It's on this campus, I learned how to write in academic discourse and challenge my writing. It was here that I developed my social skills further and then my soft skills later when I ran a large organization within student government. It was at the Coliseum in 2011, I learned to disregard sportsmanship and jangle my car keys at UCLA fans on the other side of the field and jeer at them to go home when we won 50-0. They were crushed like an empty beer can under the weight of my foot before picking it up and recycling it in the nearest recycling bin. It's been fun and it's been expensive. I'm halfway done with my student loans and I look at the statement and go, hmm...I should've squeezed the juice from the orange harder. I should've pulverized it for its orange essence, not just the juice. 5 for the experience less: 1 star because of the price (learned the "less:" formatting in accounting). 4/5 would attend again. -------------------------------------------------- QUICK TIPS: -------------------------------------------------- # The student body is warm and congenial. There's good camaraderie between students and they help each other out. None of this cutthroat competition stuff I heard from other schools unless you're taking pre-med classes. # You get a nice balance of academics and social development to round you out as a person. I probably leaned a little too much on the social side, but it's okay. I'm alive and well. A cold body can't pay student loan payments. # The campus and its buildings are together in the same area and not sprawled out like other universities. That's good because it means you run into friends and it promotes a tight-knit school culture. # The estimated cost of attendance was $45 grand when I started and now it's at $74 grand a year? Whoa. It was really expensive then and it's eye-popping now. When did this turn into an elite country club? You need to get a good financial aid package and/or scholarships or choose another school with better value. Money talks and flowers eventually wilt. The flowers are always fresh and pristine, but make sure the flowers are that important and affordable to you first. # If finances and value checks out, you'll have a good time. If you're a visitor, you can be jealous. No, you can't help water the flowers or sprinkle plant food over the flower beds. Members only.

Yelp
USC campus is one of my favourite place for walking in California. Nice parks, a lot of cafes around, clean territory. Sometimes too many people for this size of territory but it is still awesome. I am thinking to choose an education program for me at this University maybe. Sweet place!

Yelp
USC is a great campus experience. I have seen this campus change in so many ways including the growth (buildings & streets) over the last 30+ years, it amazes me. They continue to bring state-of-the-art technology and instructors to make USC one of the best universities in the country. Truth be told, it IS expensive to go to USC, but with the networking of alumni base, it is well worth it when graduates seek to find their first job or internship. USC is steep in tradition and culture, and has an unprecedented fan following when it comes to sports. The University Of Southern California is simply theee best.

Yelp
The main USC campus is as beautiful as the medical campus. I don't come here often though, as my only business on the main campus is to certify my classes at the vet's center. The facilities here are state of the art, well maintained, and they have good security here. Parking is mainly student lots or metered parking along the roads within the campus. It can get a little challenging finding a spot during the fall and spring, not so much during the summer. It's easy to get lost around campus. I don't know many of the places here, other than the book store, some of the eateries, and the hall in which the vets center is located. This cluster of buildings is on Childs Way and Watt Way. The university itself is a great place to get your education. It is well connected, and has a good reputation behind it.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this University. I'm a parent of two university students. My daughter graduated from USC last May 2018. She had an amazing experience and a world class education at USC. She found a lot of her professors stimulating, challenging, and supportive. Professors were available during office hours and always willing to answer her questions. She had a multitude of advisors for her majors. Yes, she had 2 majors: Economics/Mathematics And English Literature. She graduated in 4 years and received 2 separate undergraduate degrees, due to the careful planning of her advisors. Unlike other private Universities, this one mandates that all students review their course selections with an advisor before they are allowed to register. Thanks to USC, My daughter (only 22) is now working for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington D.C. On a different note, my son decided to attend a different private University in California. He is in his second year, and we are so disappointed in the lack of advisement he is receiving. Both USC and the "other" University are private and about the same in tuition. Both my son and daughter received scholarships of similar size from each University since they were similar in their high school GPA and SAT scores. I couldn't quite appreciate the value of the advisement from USC until 'm dealing with this other University which I will not name. If you're a parent deciding on whether to send your son or daughter to USC, trust me when I say that you will be happy if you do. Excellent professors and caring advisors and staff. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Many may not remember the damage of the Rodney King riots, the travesty which damaged almost all of the common area to the USC campus, yet USC redeveloped and created a beautiful home and community of sorts for many students Scarf Street housed fraternity and other social groups, Hoover housed the village where we would buy our groceries. Adams housed authentic Mexican food (okie burrito) and the lift goes on... University Park is an area of housing and community to many. I'm extremely proud of USC at large for their efforts to provide a great home away from home to all. Note- USC proximity great to 10/110 freeway arteries (I have the old/new pics to post but I messed up on my collage efforts sadly, but I'm working on fixing it)

Yelp
Stunning campus. So much to do in the area for students, faculty and residents of the neighborhood. Also don't be surprised to find a Campus Ambassador perched on almost every street corner. These individuals make me feel safer on the campus. At a certain time at night you're not granted access onto the campus without a USC ID. Very safe!

Yelp
Ahh another review of another cool California school. USC also is a fine institution. The campus is also very beautiful and it's actually one of those places where you kind of stand there and wonder how such a nice looking place could be in such a ghetto neighborhood. I guess that would be the only thing I would say that wasn't too cool about USC. This place is definitely not in a cool college town like UCLA is and it's really not safe to walk around when it's late. The good side of town is supposedly one block north of campus Beautiful campus but not so great surrounding neighborhood

Yelp
My Alma mater!! I absolutely love this place because I had a great education here as well as having a great job here afterwards. I met the best people here, which I am proud to still be good friends with till this day. The animal research here is superb and the veterinary staff are the best of the best. I love this his place and it will always be my home away from home. Love the college football games!!! FIGHT ON!!!

Yelp
I visited USC on a Saturday afternoon and it was such a beautiful campus. There's like a nice library, a bookstore, target, trader joe and even lots of different food options. It's also fairly close to DTLA and Koreatown so you can have some amazing food and drinks!

Yelp
Almost done with my undergraduate career at USC and I'm pretty sad.....because I was a transfer so I only got to experience 2 years of being a Trojan :'( There are so many reasons why I love my school. So many opportunities (socially and professionally), a large and diverse student body, and the greatest school spirit in the world!!! Yes, it's located somewhat in the ghetto, but it does feel pretty safe within university park boundaries and DPS is always there when you need them (esp when your car batteries go out! Shoutout to DPS for saving me from my carelessness so many times). Another plus is that we get free uber every night! Awesome perk for being an SC student. Sure there isn't always a lot of stuff to do around campus, but with Koreatown and DTLA just a couple miles away, there's always something fun to do if you wanna go out or get some food. That being said, campus is absolutely beautiful. Fountains, trees, and lots of brick. Oh and squirrels everywhere! Wouldn't be SC without the squirrels. There's also always some kind of construction happening, which can get annoying when it blocks my route to class or gets too loud. But I guess that only means we're getting prettier! Best school in the world, period. Fight on!

Yelp
A beautiful campus nestled in the heart of Los Angeles. I went to undergrad at a small private university a couple of blocks down from USC. I would always be in the USC area, hanging out with my friends at local coffee shops or stores/restaurants nearby. Three years after graduating from undergrad, I decided to apply to USC for graduate school, and I am lucky enough to say my dream came true and I am a Trojan. I often take night classes and I do feel safe while walking back to my car due to the great security this campus has. In addition, the school offers free Lyft line rides for students from 7 PM to 2 AM, so you don't have to walk to your car/apartment in the dark. This university has world-renowned professors from all over the country and a diverse student body population, of which they are always there to help. If you are looking into colleges/universities, try checking it out in the fall since that is usually when football season is. I recommend trying to attend a tailgate! It is quite the experience, especially because of USC football. I have found my place on this campus and I'm glad I'm attending this university. Fight On!

Yelp
I am an Ivy League alumnus bringing my daughter to this school for pre-college campus visit/tour. I am sold on this school! I had my prejudged opinions about this school, especially in comparing this school academically with their crosstown rival, UCLA. There are many stories to this school, about how this is a school for the rich, and how this is the school to go to for networking. My opinion has changed after this tour. The campus was amazing. The classrooms are first rate. The classes sound fun. Of course everyone knows USC has the first rate school in the cinematic arts (films, theater, production of music and films, etc). They are able to invite many well known directors, producers, and actors to speak at their school. This is very rare amongst the academics. I would've paid $500 just to go listen to Steven Spielberg talk. There was purportedly a Comp Sci class for beginners to hacking, whose final exam was hack into the Professor's server to change your own grade which starts from an F. Then there was a sailing class where the final exam was for the student to sail out to Santa Catalina Island and back, all within a day. The student tour guide was in the sophomore class. She is a very bright lady and from her campus experiences, sounded like she accomplished a lot within 1.5 yrs. Lastly, a week after we came home, we received a standard Thank You card that is handwritten by one of the other student guide! We remembered her because she is one of the most energetic and enthusiastic person when they all introduced themselves. This card could be a standard "form" card with a generic text for every recipient. But the fact that someone actually took the time to handwrite a card plus the mailing label on the envelope for each visitor is an amazing feat that I have not seen any other school do. I was impressed. I am encouraged by the caliber of the students represented by the tour guides. We know that one the of reasons why United States is the world leader is due to our country's influence over others in mass media and in the entertainment industry. Well, if you really think about it, USC is one of the leading factor that makes the pillar of this theory. I will be happy if my daughter can attend USC, even if she is not a member of the school of cinematic arts.

Yelp
Okay-ish private university. Amazing if you have a parent that works here, or if you want to be able to say you played waterpolo without needing to know how to swim.

Yelp
Beautiful campus and wonderful place to get an education and awesome place to go to school! Having the metro here is great. So convenient to get around. Also getting free Lyft is great. Fight On! I love being on campus here. Homecoming was amazing! The tailgating here on campus is stellar! Tommy Trojan right in front of Bovard auditorium is great!

Yelp
This school should get 10 stars! Ranked in the Top 25 best colleges and universities in the US (2013), USC is tied with Carnegie Mellon, ucla, and someone else....can't remember. USC is an amazing institution with rigorous academic standards. What sets it apart is the pride students have for their school when they graduate. As the saying goes: "You can be a bRuin for 4 years, but you will be a Trojan for life." USC is rooted in a very deep tradition. From the decorated football team, to the award winning a cappella groups, there are so many activities and groups to keep USC students active and make their experience here last a lifetime. One of the greatest traditions here is the Trojan Marching Band. They are the school's primary ambassador, and carry the traditions and standards of the university wherever they go. I know....I'm biased because I marched with them and currently work for them. The TMB, as it is most commonly referred to as, is the most diverse group on campus. Students come from all walks of life, majoring in almost every available major at the university. But enough about them for now. People talk smack about how USC is located in a crappy part of town. It's not bad at all. The people in the surrounding the community are also proud of their USC neighbor. I enjoyed my time living around campus, and never had any problems with non-USC citizens in the area. USC is a great school, proven by the pride students and alumni have at every football game, social event, interview, and conversation. FIGHT ON FOREVER!

Yelp
Alright People... as a previous poster pointed out this is not the page for the old gray lady (coliseum) or the rose gardens or the musuems. On a personal note: There is no University that teachs you how to handle life I think better than USC. You come across all types of people, challenges on how to handle life, and ways to move forward and accomplish goals. The networking skills, relationship building skill, self reliance, and many more similar things last a lifetime. The ability to challenge and find new and interesting avenues to view life and are extremely important and valuable. Having USC in the middle of Los ANgeles presents more opportunities than almost any other University in the country can offer. Add to that the outstanding academics and personality /character of the school it is beyond compare. I can also guarantee from experience, if you wear a USC shirt or hat, etc, around the world, you will run into a stranger who will have the exact same zest for life that you do. As well as a Zeal for this extremely special University. Fight On!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of attending USC. The Marshall School of Business is amazing. Not only do you learn a lot, you make a lot of friends and future business contacts. The campus is gorgeous and well kept. Brick buildings, beautiful trees & landscaping are in every sq foot of the campus. Everything is top notch here. They don't skimp by any means. You get what you pay for.....how can you succeed without being surrounded by excellence? From the quality of the professors, to the level of education....it's easily one of the best in the country. Is the neighborhood surrounding campus the safest? No, but the school provides a ton of security to ensure that it's safe for the students. Will I return? If my son wants to attend, you bet I will send him here! Fight On!

Yelp
I would never want to be anywhere else. And I know this by experience, having transferred from Chapman University. Big student body with students ranging from all different ethnic and financial backgrounds. The surrounding area isn't the best, yes, but it allows for a lot of eye opening and important experiences. Classes are challenging but for the most part great. So many ways to get involved that you'll be overwhelmed on where to start. Love love love it here, fight on :)

Yelp
My school took 25 students here for a tour. This place is HUGE! It's a private college which means to go here will cost a small fortune...enough for a down payment on a small house or condo and the purchase of a fuel efficient Honda or Toyota. We did meet a student who went to Escondido High, and offered our students free editing of their papers. Our tour guides were great. It was the students walking around that was amusing. She: Mr. H, there's no Mexicans here...everyone is either white or Asian. Me: Well, I'm sure there are some here somewhere. She: Oh yeah, doing the gardening... Me: Shut-up! They do have a lot to offer. We did stand in the middle of the Lucas/Spielberg building. TG: Mr. Spielberg (or was it Lucas) donated $176 million to the film school.... Me: (whispering to a student) Dang...I know a school he can make a donation to... Student: Mr. H...ssshhhh They do have some of the hottest college coeds here. I'm sure it's a great college to go to and people who do go here can get a great education, but there was something a little plastic about the whole place. Like some of the attitudes of the students were like they were so much better because they go here. This was the first college we went to on our tour. We also went to CS Long Beach and UC Irvine. Oh, and the t-shirts are pricey, but I bought one anyway.

Yelp
USC is one of the greatest schools on the west coast, in the United States, and in the world. I am about to finish my third year as a Trojan, and I couldn't be happier at the University of Southern California. I came here from New York to study neuroscience, and even when I decided to switch into print and digital journalism, I was able to switch into one of the best programs in the country. USC is all-around one of the best schools there are. We are ranked Top 10 in almost everything we do, whether that be football, tennis, film or business. Trojans give it their all, and it pays off. USC is the second-largest private institution in the United States next to Miami, but it never feels like it. Everywhere I go, I see a familiar face, especially as the years go on. I always feel like I'm at home. I can't say enough about the Trojan family. I have held countless internships during my time at USC because of alumnus who want to help current undergrads. I have no doubt in my mind that I will leave USC and do the same for future Trojans wherever I end up. The USC campus is beautiful and flat, making it convenient for walking or biking. There are plenty of great places to eat on campus including Lemonade, Panda Express, California Pizza Kitchen and Seeds. There are countless libraries on campus and they're all beautiful and great places to study (except maybe Leavey). The students at USC are extremely diverse and represent an array of cultures. Although there are the stereotypical rich kids here, they're easy to avoid. Find the quality people and be their friends. You'll learn a lot from the people with perspectives different from your own. People complain about USC's location in "the ghetto" but I wouldn't change USC one bit. FIGHT ON!

Yelp
I agree with Lily A. Some of these reviews are clearly from people who did not go here as a student; perhaps they are UCLA fans, perhaps they didn't get in, perhaps they're just bitter about something... Who knows? I went here for my undergraduate degree and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else, if given the opportunity to do it again. I'm not originally from CA (so that rules out me being one of those "Orange County girls," didn't join a sorority while at SC, and didn't study business or film. I have no problem with people who are part of any of those groups; my point is, I'm not the cliche SC girl. I was one of those kids who got in because my grades were high, test scores were high, and, as private schools often do, they looked at me as more than just a number. My interview was incredibly helpful in me getting in, as was my less than desirable financial background. The classes were small, attention was great, opportunities for intellectual experiences numerous, and the social atmosphere was great too. I met people from all walks of life: all socioeconomic levels, all races, all religions, all nations; because of this my eyes were opened to the world. The neighborhood itself is a great tool for that; many students are quite sheltered when they arrive, but are much more understanding about how the world works when they leave. I could go on more, but I'd either be preaching to the choir, or my praise would fall on deaf ears. Bottom line: when I return to campus, I feel like I'm home. There's nothing more special than that. Fight On!

Yelp
USC is diverse enough for everyone to find a group of friends who make their time in college unforgettable. We also bring in great bands for Spring Fest and other random performances. Some live acts I caught on campus were M83, The Roots, Jimmy Eat World, Keane and Yo Yo Ma. Quite a line up! Straight in the heart of a soon-to-be-gentrified ghetto, near downtown LA, and K-town.. the school offers a culturally diverse surrounding for someone who'd like to open their minds to other cultures and social-economic lifestyles. The breadth requirements are a huge pain in the butt, but well worth it at the end of the day. When people talk about Geographic Information Systems now (yes, it somehow comes up VERY randomly) - I actually know wth they're saying. Nice campus, great professors, good school spirit, friendships that'll last a lifetime - I'm proud to be an alumni! p/s: All grads get MonsterTrak free for life! Sa-weet. p/p/s: I think Bruins/Longhorns who come on to rate USC (double agents excluded) just to bring the star points down, are a good illustration of just how "freaking awesome" they are. You don't see a quarter as many Trojans doing that to the UCLA/UT reviews. Not classy, kids.

Yelp
Yay, SC! I watched the USC vs. UCLA game at the NEW ARENA. WOW, that place is BEAUTIFUL. dude, seriously, usc is loaded. On that note, a few myths about USC that needs to be corrected. 1) MYTH 1: USC is EXPENSIVE. I don't know why people keep talking about the expensive tuition. The other schools I got into had higher tuition, which was partly the reason I chose USC. You shoul look into tuition at other private colleges like Pepperdine, Occidental, Claremont McKEnna, Scripps, etc. USC is cheaper. 2) MYTH 2: USC is in the GHETTO. When I was considering this place, I had a few people tell me how DANGEROUS it is and that its GHETTO by USC. Whatever. I personally never got assaulted and broken into. I lived by the serious "ghetto strip" and was fine. And they have these patrol cars called DPS that are circulating the area constantly non-stop. Also, they have the "Campus Cruiser" which is a FREE taxi around the campus that drives you around all hours. 3) University of SPOILED children. I had roommates and friends who were definitely not from the "rich" families nor were they spoiled. A lot of them had financial aid and grants and hardly went on shopping sprees. I say, there are lots of rich kids and normal kids and poor kids wherever you go. You notice the BMW's and Mercedes? Well, you're a victim of confirmation bias, cuz there are tons of Civics, Camry's, and Hyundai's at USC parking structures. 4) UNIVERSITY of STUPID CHILDREN. yeah, i got this from my brother. But you know what, there are tons of stupid people on every campus. I'm sure you'll find one even at Harvard. So, I've met the smartest and the dumbest, and this isn't just a USC thing. Oh, and I know several people who got rejected from USC but got into UCLA. So, it's been years since I've graduated. Has my education been worthwhile? Honestly, you get what you put into it. If you study, you get a lot out of it, even at a community college. I must admit though, the research professors that USC were of top pedigree towards the end of my program. I also got to attend seminars where I met Larry Flynt, Oliver Stone, etc. You get a lot if you seek out the opportunities and take an active role in school clubs. Living in California, being a USC Alum is a super advantage. Sure, if the interviewer is a UCLA alum, you might be screwed, but if you were to go out to the real world and take a look at all the successful business men/women out there, you'll run into more USC alums than UCLA. That being said, my USC alum status definitely plays to my advantage. But, I love UCLA people...I have too many friends who went there to bash them. Some are surely smart and have awesome personalities. But, they're poor.

Yelp
I love this campus and always had an affinity for the historical brick buildings. The architecture is beautiful. Aside from college life (I attended elsewhere, lol), this campus is often used for many outside events and programs. It's pretty large so a map is needed to find your way around. Most entrances to the campus is also now gated. As far as the surrounding area of USC, it's questionable and leaves something to be desired!

Yelp
Summary: Beautiful Campus. Everything is Great. The only negative is maybe the area surrounding the campus isn't the greatest but there does seem to be a lot of security. Parking: Tip - Park at PS1. PS2 might be good too but PS1 is solid. I parked at PSX and PSD for a while and it was always a pain in the ass. Hard to turn into the parking from the street first of all and then the parking is full of speedbumps and not easy to find parking. PS1 has none of these problems.

Yelp
I usually don't feel the need to discuss strange happenings, but I had to get this off my chest. Do with it as you will, friend. So this summer, I clicked on an ad for USC's brand new FNP program. Lo and behold, I was quickly contacted by a recruiter who said she was based near DC. She told me how amazing the new program would be, how it was run by the School of Social Work, the joys of becoming a Trojan etc, etc. I agreed to apply and did fairly quickly. Then came the onslaught of calls asking me to get transcripts from every school I had attended since roughly the second grade. (Addendum: Did I mention that this program, the one at Georgetown, and the one at Simmons are all test programs for a new student interface program company looking to knock off BlackBoard? Or that said company gave them millions to be pilot programs?) Anyway, I sent all the transcripts in while trying to hold down a full-time job and finally got the call that my application was complete. The recruiter told me that I would have a decision in a couple of weeks. That seemed normal, because the start of the school year was August 29th and it was the first week of July, so I settled down to wait. The website at USC (yoUSC or some trash like that) said that letters of acceptance would be posted there, but take down three weeks prior to the first day of classes. Again, sounded normal, so I waited. No letter or decision was ever posted. Days, weeks, and now months have gone by without even so much as a "Up Yours". I reached out to that recruiter, who sent me a two sentence reply asking if I had checked my spam folder. Please understand, I'm not mad about not getting in. Hell, if I'm gonna pay somebody north of $100K for a master's, it probably should be a dual degree like the one at UC Davis. Nope, I'm pissed at being jerked around. Decency and professionalism were lacking during this whole episode, and I kind of expected better from the so-called big dog in town. You can't even email a brotha to say "You didn't make the cut"? Take it easy and fight on, I guess. Maybe you should spend some of that endowment you don't use on scholarship assistance on buying a few postage stamps or to pay your wi-fi bill.

Yelp
BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS. I don't go here but I can't believe how nice it is. I love the architecture and buildings here. Visited here a few times in the evening time to play ultimate with a group of friends on their stadium field where the track and soccer field is at. And that has me impressed as well. I am super impressed with how gorgeous this campus is. I can understand why it can be so pricey to come here. Especially the fact that it is also a private school. It is a bummer that the area around USC is pretty sketch though.
