Two Doors Down on the Lower East Side is your go-to spot for delicious cocktails and burgers, where you can vibe upstairs and dance the night away below.
"After a nearly decade-long run, Two Doors Down is closing its doors. In a post on Instagram, the owners said, 'The time has simply come to move on.' Its final service will be on Halloween. No cause for sadness, however. The owners wrote that this is a success story and continued to praise the neighboring businesses, its employees, landlord, and thank its customers. The LGBT and woman-owned business will have a goodbye bash on the evening of Saturday, October 26, with Buoy Beer for $5 a pint." - Courtney E. Smith
"This is how your Friday night on the Lower East Side could go down: you could start with a cocktail in the upstairs area of Two Doors Down, a new bar from the Cafe Balearica team, and then head downstairs to the hidden dance floor. This bar asks that you don’t take pictures of other people while inside, which means you can actually dance like nobody’s watching. " - Will Hartman, Willa Moore
"Sometimes, you drink a nice cocktail at a nice bar, and then go somewhere else to lose your dignity. But why bother moving from one place to another, when you could stay where you are, and just head downstairs? At Two Doors Down, a Lower East Side bar from the team (another two-floor destination), you can do just that. Upstairs, there’s moody lighting and big booths, and it’s a pleasantly quiet spot for a midweek first date, where you can fill any silences with old Kendrick and sips of a well-made cocktail. But on the weekends the downstairs comes into play. This is where you can listen to a DJ, dance under a disco ball, and forget all about the mediocre date you had upstairs the last time you were here." - Willa Moore
"So you want to go to a bar that wasn’t made for ants? Shocking. The Late Late is by no means huge, but it’s a nice-sized, two-layer spot that’s one of your best options in the LES for a group larger than two. Also, there’s a tiny “grocery store” inside stocked with Irish treats. Buzzed shopping is fun shopping." - katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg
"Two Doors Down is a solid neighborhood spot for some burgers and fries with your kids (if you have kids), or with a group of friends. The beer selection is great, as are the burgers. They do corn dogs and grilled cheese, too, but if you’re here for one thing, it’s the excellently crispy french fries with hoppy garlic mayo. Our one caveat? Stay away from the gluten-free buns. They soak up grease like a sponge - you’re better off wrapping that thing in lettuce if you can’t have wheat." - Aimee Rizzo
