"Mexican Food in Isabela Tuluum was on my list of places to try when I first moved to Puerto Rico . Mexican food happens to be my favorite, and I have made it my mission to try any Mexican place on the island. I was completely satisfied with this place for their Tex-Mex fare! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fun. I was here for an art show and really enjoyed the ambiance with live music. If you're staying up in Isabela or just feel like making the drive, you won't be disappointed."

15 Best Bars in Puerto Rico | Condé Nast Traveler

"The vibes at Tuluum are as upbeat and fun as its colorful walls and kitschy Mexican decor. On any given night, you'll find locals kicking back with a margarita or mezcal and enjoying the live acoustic music. This is a tequila bar with killer margaritas: strong, not too sweet, and only $6 during all-day happy hour on Wednesday ($8 every other day). Also popular: a tequila shot with a tangy sangrita chaser, or a mezcal neat—there are 10 different kinds. There are tacos to soak it all up too—get the al pastor." - Kris Fordham

I used to frequent this place at least once a week when I lived on the island. The food was always hot and fresh. My experience last night did not pass the vibe check. The staff seemed confused but they were polite. We sat down and was immediately greeted and provided drinks. We ordered margaritas that were flavorful and reasonable priced. I ordered guacamole which turned out to be dip. It lacked flavor and looked like it was squeezed from a pouch. We immediately sent it back. I ordered 3 hard shell tacos with only shredded cheese. I had to send it back 2 times. First time it came out with veggies and cheese. Next time it came out with mushrooms and cheese. I just want taco shells and cheese!!! My partner ordered Tulim fries with onions and bell peppers added. Her food came out looking like a plate of vomit and without her onions and peppers. I think they made my tacos with her add ons. I was so disappointed. I literally Drove 2 hours to come patronize this restaurant. I remember the husband and wife owners who would sit at the end of the bar greet me in the past. Please make some changes to management when the owners aren’t present. I was so disappointed. Pic below is tulum fries.

Tuluum Mexican Food is a small to medium sized restaurant. Seems cozy for small family get-together. The parking area upon arrival is also medium-sized, no markings, so everyone parks were you can fit. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Walls all have different decorations. Waiters are friendly and polite, somewhat knowledgeable of the menu. Food took a while, but keep in mind that it's cooked to order. Plates came one at a time making it hard for us to eat all together. The dishes were presentable but the food was not hot or warm. I specifically asked for no vegetables in my tacos and had to give back so that they could remove them. The taste of food in general was not bad. The lemonade was not to my liking at all. They tasted more like they had alcohol than lemon. Not the best, but also not the worst. I suppose it all depends on what you're taste buds crave for.

Walked in as a party of 7 from the states around 745 on a Thursday. Welcomed & seated right away. Ordered the nachos for an app, definitely a must. Had a few margaritas. Cucumber, passion fruit, mango and pineapple. Absolutely delicious. Some of us got fish, shrimp and skirt steak tacos and split them each. Others got the steak quesadilla, tostadas, pollo burrito & birria tacos. Everything came out fast, except birra which I think just got overlooked when placing order but well worth the wait. Had churros for dessert. Had a back yard patio as well. Bathrooms were odd, must have been a house as there were bathtubs in them but didn’t matter😂. Very very good food. Would go back again!

Omg. Best Mexican I’ve had in AGES (maybe in my life?). Great fresh ingredients, lovely flavours, and first eco friendly restaurant I’ve been in Puerto Rico in the past three weeks (no plastic straws, cups, condiments cups etc). Highly recommend the nachos, fried cheese (wow) and any of the tacos! Their lemonade was also very refreshing, and they seem to have all types of margaritas as well though we didn’t try them this time.

Was excited to try the place out based on the reviews and pictures posted by previous customers, but never got a chance. When we walked in we were greeted and told to sit anywhere. 10 minutes later no one had come by to take or order, or check on us. This was at 8:20 on a Tuesday night, they were not busy at all, and they didn't close until 9:45pm.

Nice spot with decent margaritas and alright tacos. Now the guacamole needs a bit of help too watery like a purée. Also missing some main ingredients like tomatoes and onions. The avocado should be hacked. I think it was due to probably being premade and refrigerated. Simple dish works great if made on the spot as it only takes 3 min to make. Overall good spot to scoop margaritas and Tacos.
