We had an amazing experience with our guide Javier! He was an awesome guide and got us very close to whales. Everything was beyond our expectations and was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii. Would take this tour again in a heartbeat! Javier was also very informative of the hawaiian culture and history, taking the tour to the next level!

My husband and I had the most incredible time whale watching by kayak. Our guide, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He worked hard, and was invested in our experience. Seeing whales from a kayak brings whale watching to a whole new level! One particular whale was very active and gave us quite a show! After the whale watch, we spent time, snorkeling, and saw a beautiful turtle and reef fish. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Maui and we can’t wait to return and book this trip again!

Amazing trip out with Chris - even when other paddle groups had given up and turned back, Chris was listening to whale song (which he also taught us to do and was probably even more amazing than being so close to whales ) and we had several experiences with breeches and flukes.

This is a once in a lifetime experience - I loved having a personal tour guide helping make me feel confident on the waters as a first time kayaker and someone to give me and my husband some history on the land, sea and marine life! It was my goal to swim with a sea turtle and I swam with over 10. The fact that they take photos of your journey for you so you can have fun the whole time was a major plus, we got the photos a couple hours after and we’re so excited by them. Erica was the best tour guide! Thank you so much for an amazing memory.

Wow! AMAZING TOUR. Identifying as a nature nerd seeing whales on kayaks is unreal. So happy my dad and I chose Tropical Guides as our outfitter. They were great to us and really carry the aloha spirit.Our guide Erica was fantastic. She shared her passion and love for the ocean enthusiastically. 11/10 would recommend choosing this outfitter for a memorable experience on your vacation. Great for all ages and experience levels.

Erica was great! This excursion was sublime! We spent 4-5hrs in the water. We truly had the best time. When the momma & baby whale swam right up next to our kayak blowing air, it was such a surreal experience. If you only pick one activity to do, this is the one you must pic! My husband and I spent 8 days in Hawaii, five of them in Maui. After 25 years of marriage we finally made the trip. There were many great experiences. The highlight, without question, was our private kayaking snorkel trip with Tropical Guides & Outfitters. Our guide, Lowe, was warm and kind throughout. She paid special attention to both safety and our comfort level for swimming and the conditions, to include water depth. She took absolutely spectacular photos of us swimming with turtles and then sent us a link within hours. Lowe made a point to explain what we could and could not do, and how to respect the reef and the marine life in it. When it was over, the owner was on shore to greet us and ask how it went. We give this company and our guide Lowe the highest recommendation.

Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!! The turtles and the reef wildlife were so amazing! And Chris, our guide, was so very patient and knowledgeable about the area. What an incredibly fun experience to snorkel with the turtles and see so many varieties of colorful fish. And to kayak out there made it feel like an adventure. Highly recommend!!
