This casual hole-in-the-wall eatery is named for Madama Marisa, a well-known 1930s prostitute (and sporting some of her advertising as decoration). A tiny out-of-the-way spot simply serving antipasto then a limited spoken menu of pasta and secondi, finishing with whatever dolci they have. A true Venetian cheap eat, great value and a great experience!

The second to seventh photo is only starters for 5 people. My family and my friends ordered fish fixed menu, it is 45€ for every person. Each of the starters were unique. The octopus was soft with tomato sauce. The fish’s are cold but tasted fishy. Clams were quite good, and the tuna and mayonnaise were very good. Then, we have fish lasagna. Cheesy and creamy. I had a lot of very delicious dishes. recommended but not the best.

Well, what can I say. Freaking fantastic place recommended by “La Jenny”. This place is as authentic as you can get. A single Venetian fixed dinner menu with 9 plates, plenty of bianco frizante wine, and coffee. All for 45€ per person. Super fresh, totally homemade. I felt in love with the baccalá mantecato and all the other dishes. You eat a lot and all great quality. This place is very unique when it comes to experiencing a real Venetian dinner. After 8 in Sunmer, you get an incredible light and breeze. Fantastic! You should make a reservation.

One of the best meals we had in Venice. Fixed menu, I believe it changes every night, and every dish was delicious. A sampler set of appetizers. Seafood lasagna to die for followed by three types of delicately fried fish, squid and shrimp. Dessert was a light marscapone cheese with cookies. Service was great A table by the camel was lovely. All in all a delightful experience.

Fresh seafoods was delicious. Seafood appetizers was excellent. As main courses, fish lasagna and seafood fries were amazing. We tried the mascarpone dessert, don't miss it either. For dinner a fixed menu was served respectively and the portions were extremely large. It was the freshest and most delicious seafood I have ever eaten. A very friendly family business..

We arrived without a booking and the only free tables were outside. Very, very pleased we decided to brave the cold, as it quickly became obvious why tables were in such high demand. Food was excellent, plentiful and wonderfully authentic. Great value set menu, charming staff and a wonderful atmosphere. A must-visit restaurant.

Second time in Venice and second time here! Best restaurant in Venice for lunch! I didn’t understand the menu very well for lunch because it was explained and the staff didn’t speak very good English but I really liked the food! I got pasta with capers and fish I think for prima piatti and for second I got chicken in pepper sauce, both were delicious! It’s one of the restaurants you have to be ready for surprise in case it’s not exactly what you understood. I would highly recommend coming here!

We wanted to come here last year, but missed out by half a day due to Ferragosto. This time we were in luck, and made sure we booked for lunch. So glad we did, this is where the locals eat and we were not disappointed. Simple food cooked well. And the red wine, yum!

Of all the meals I've had in Venice, this was the most memorable. The restaurant itself is out of the way, down a side canal that is much quieter than the bustling tourist areas. It is well worth the detour! It is a family run restaurant, so there is a limited menu and options. Basically you eat what they happen to be cooking, and we were lucky enough to be there during seafood/fish night! We had plate after plate of seafood, ranging from octopus, fish, clams, starfish, clams, calamari, and shrimp. Each was prepared a little differently and seasoned in it's unique way. Everything was delicious. Would highly recommend the experience and the family style food!

We were so excited to see our favorite restaurant open as we rode by on the vaporetto on our way to Murano. Calling the restaurant from the United States a week before Easter, we thought the person who answered told us it was closed for the whole Easter holiday week. So, on the way back from Murano, we stopped and made reservations for lunch. Reservations are a must if you want to enjoy this restaurant. If it is pleasant weather, you can reserve a table outside along the canal. This is where the locals come to eat; and, it is being discovered by tourists as well. We have eaten here each time we have to Venice and never been disappointed. They offer a price fixed meal for € 17 that includes a first course, second course, vegetables, 1/4 liter of wine, 1/2 liter of water and a caffe. What is so interesting is that there is no printed menu. They offer several first and second courses. The menu has to do with what Anna Bianchi (the owner) wishes to prepare and that is fresh. We enjoyed spaghetti with tomato sauce - spaghetti topped with mixed fish - beefsteak - octopus with polenta - spinach, roasted potatoes and cannellini beans,1/4 liter each of red and white wine, 1/2 liter water, and espresso. The staff seems to rush you to order, but they do not rush you to eat and leave. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

If you are a tourist, then you are in for a long wait. Locals definitely get served first. We had just ended a sustainable tourism ride and thought of trying this place out. After an hour of wait, we were still waiting for our table to be cleaned up and the server was complaining that he was the only one out there. It still would have been ok if not for the fact that he had already started serving others. The food may be good but we didn't get to try it and I don't really care about promoting local eatery in a sustainable way if they don't know how to manage diners on an off day

The food was completely average. The service was more than slow. Waited 15 minutes for the waiter to take my order for the first course, fine whatever. 20 minutes after I finished the first course the waiter finally took my order for the second course. After I finished my second course, the waiter came to take my dish away and told me an espresso is also included. 40 minutes after he took my dishes away, and after multiple requests, I still didn't get my espresso. So I just paid and left.

Wow! You turn up and have one of the meals of the day. Absolutely excellent. The food is great. Homestyle. Lots of locals eat here. A bit off the beaten path (a good thing in Venice, where the path can be a bit intense). Friendly service ... And efficient in its own way. It seems be family run, and that explains the attention one gets. Love it Great value (which is also rare in Venice). I have no reservations in recommending Anna's place.

Utterly amazing. A must if you want to try Venetian-style cuisine in a family-like setting. The servers were warm, the atmosphere was welcoming and informal, and the food was utterly amazing, varied and flavorful. Note that they don't take credit cards, so be sure to bring cash.

Made reservation by quandoo which they said they could not honor unless we had confirmed by phone (leaving us a bit confused about what the point of the quandoo reservation was). Squeezed us in reluctantly. Service can be a bit gruff. Most other diners local--a resident we met told us the restaurant is prized by Venetians as a place they can find refuge from tourists. Portions are large. Nothing complicated but quite varied set of courses of traditional Venetian dishes almost all containing seafood. Dinner took a bit over two hours. Recommended if you want leisurely dinner in very pleasant but not elegant surroundings.

WRONG LOCALIZATION!!!!! Excellent place one day is fish another is meat, homey and next to the canal in peaceful canareggio!

This little gem is a must for anyone visiting Venice. It's on the opposite side of the island from San Marco, so it isn't very touristy. We came in for lunch and it was some of the best food we found our entire trip. They don't have a menu, other than a chalkboard out front letting you know you get 2 courses, water, wine, and a café for only 15 Euro. We got there a little early and they let us hang out at a table till they opened. They open right at noon and by 12:15 it was completely full. Definitely glad we got there early. I'd also recommend knowing a little Italian, because their servers don't speak the best English, but they were extremely patient with us and we got our food figured out. You have a choice of two or three options for each course, and it ends up being about an hour and a half lunch. They start off with a pasta. I got the bolognaise and it was one of the best pastas I've had in Italy. For my secondo I ordered the beef and ended up with an entire plate full of a piece of beef sliced thin but marinade in one of the best tasting sauces. It was great. They had a pretty good line building by the time we left, but you could tell more than a few of them were tourists that didn't realize that they aren't going to try and rush a table so that you can sit down. If I ever make it back to Venice I'll go here for sure, but I'll make sure I know a little more Italian to make the server's life a little easier.

Really love this place! The 15 euros set meal was very worth it- i had a pasta, chicken breast, broccoli, wine, coffee and water for that price. And the waiter was really nice as well. Located next to the canal, we had a nice view of the connection of the canal to the sea. Definitely recommend this place!

Just finished an amazing meal at Trattoria Dalla Marisa. Don't be deterred by the out of the way location. We feel we had a true Venetian experience. The meal started with mussels with buttered bread crumbs, tiny octopus in an amazing red gravy, baccala in a light mayo-like sauce, polenta, and a sea bass cerviche. This was followed by an amazing seafood lasagna and then fried calamari and shrimp. We also had a liter of house white wine and two bottles of water. Our bill was only 70 euro! Our service was friendly and welcoming and the food was the freshest seafood prepared in simple but wonderful ways. All of this while eating outside along a canal. Reservations are a must and they only take cash but truly a wonderful experience.
