Top Rope Birria

My mom discovered top rope a few years ago when it was on a smaller scale, to this date the best tacos I have had hands down. No one was doing Birria tacos in Vancouver that good until Kevin and Top Rope arrived on the scene, we used to track them down through the breweries they’d be at over the weekends just for their tacos, and additions to the menu overtime (walking tacos definitely my personal fave). The care and effort Kevin and his crew put into what they do and what they make is unmatched by any place I’ve seen, everytime I have been or brought friends to introduce to the truck (vegetarians and non vegetarians) the experience is a consistent 5/5 on food and service, always receiving my food fast and hot off the grill. Kevin is one of the nicest guys I have met in the food industry and in general, and you can tell he takes pride and really cares about the product he’s giving his customers. All the various pop up collaborations are well thought out and executed to give those attending AMAZING food!!! Most recently I had the plenty-o-fish sandwich (had to get my mom to bring it to the airport just so I could have one as I was flying back from out of country the day of the pop up). I am quite picky when it comes to eating out or take out, and I can honestly say I have never been less than completely and utterly satisfied with what I’ve gotten from Kevin and the truck. Top rope has the best birria tacos!!! if you ever get a chance to attend a pop-up, I encourage you to do so because the food is always hands-down the best. And the customer service is like no other they treat you like family.!!!

Best Birria in Vancouver!! Excellent service, and all the food variations are delicious. Kevin is so good at what he does, he is so nice and friendly it is always so good to eat some quesabirrias and just say hi. I’m Mexican and the birria here it’s so tasty!! better than a lot of places back in Mexico, think about that 😉 100% recommend

These guys are awesome. The food truck moves around the city (see Instagram for details) but on Sunday’s you will find them outside strange fellows brewing! The food was awesome! Super tender braised beef and yummy cheese w/ a consommé on the side. Took the advice of the staff to get a side of hot sauce and put half in the consommé/ use the other half for dipping! Keep in mind that the food is very rich. I was able to eat two but would have been just fine with one. Additionally, although you should try the cheese skirt my preference was the taco without. Finally the staff are super friendly and welcoming! Thanks !

This is the place to go for Birria! One of the OG's making Birria style tacos in the city! Cheese skirts are a must and the consume is so delicious you have to drink it after. Sorry for no pictures but I destroyed my order way too fast and way too hard to get any snaps. We stumbled across the truck parked at the Springford Farm in Nanoose Bay. Kevin was incredibly engaging and charming. The beef quesabirria were messy, gooey, hot and wonderful. Just wonderful flavours and textures. And the bonus? They made a cheesy doggo taco for my mutt Dolly! Literally my only complaint about this experience is that I don't live here so I'm going to have to wait a long time before I can eat there again.

5 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A FIVE Star experience with Chef Kevin! 👌 From greeting to eating and all the details in-between, Top Rope Birria provides a mean top notch taco experience! I am in no way a cheese connoisseur, but the cheese skirt combined with the slow roasted beef made a perfect taco blend of textures and flavors that could please the pickiest of eaters. Dipped in what I'm coining as heaven sauce was a flavor town experience that will keep your mouth hole fully engaged from start to finish! 🌮 I've done many reviews of local eateries in Vancouver, and very few get the praise I'm giving Top Rope Birria and Chef Kevin. Highly recommend!!! 🌮👌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pro tip- Don't forget to try their chips and salsa, and finish off with some of their homemade candies.
