The best Japanese bakery in Denver. Savory and sweet pastries. Every single pastries are very delicious. Strongly recommend. My favorite is bacon egg, beef curry, matcha, and mixed berries.

Delicious and tasty! This place is very clean. It does get very busy. My favorite is the custard donuts. Delicious machas and lattes. Friendly staff! Would definitely recommend trying this place at least once. It worth the wait if their busy. Lines move pretty fast.

Cute place. Now I have really high expectations from bakeries. I wanted so much more. It's not their fault. I had my original melon pan in Japan. I was so hoping this would be the same or even close. It wasn't. It was definitely a brioche bread texture. The cookie coating was so crumbly it just fell off the top when you tore a piece off. It was slightly lemon flavored. Not enough though. I've said it before and I'll say it again if it is lemon flavored there should be a nice crisp tartness in the bite. Maybe pipe some fresh lemon curd or lemon cream on the middle of that. The croissant was good. My daughter said her beef curry party was amazing.

Absolutely fantastic!! I've been searching for a local coffee shop for a while and this place just hits the spot. The pastries are fresh and just delicious. The red bean bun is my favorite of them all but you can't really go wrong with the tuna sandwich, the sunrise breads and the donuts. If you're craving coffee, Hojicha latte is my go-to but you can't go wrong with the matcha latte if you're looking for something sweeter. The items are fairly priced too! Surprisingly cheaper than Starbucks. The service is top notch and they employees and owner do care about the customers. Highly recommend!!!

The custard and red bean buns are incredibly soft, and the bacon and egg sandwich is delicious. However, I'm not entirely sure if it qualifies as an authentic Japanese-style bakery. Too crowded inside.

This place is awesome!!! All the treats are unique, tasty, and a crazy good value. The beef curry is crispy, fluffy, and full of flavor. The peach is bright and creamy and tastes fresh as hell! The cherry might be my favorite, a wonderful combination of sweet and tart. You can't go wrong here. I take every chance I can to swing by, grab pastries, and head down to Stella's to get some work done.

This place has been popping up everywhere when I was researching for food in Denver, and I knew I had to pay a visit. Tip: You can pre-order online the day before to skip the line and ensure you get exactly what you want, or just arrive early, as they tend to have long lines and their most popular items often sell out by the afternoon. While their sweet pastries are delicious, their savory options truly stand out. The beef curry pan is a must-try - make sure to eat it hot! The crispy pocket filled with savory beef curry goodness that is very satisfying. Everything I tried was fantastic - you really can't go wrong here. Can't wait to come back the next time I visit Denver.

Solid spot but not exactly sure why it has as much hype as it does. I enjoyed my potato croquette and my chocolate banana pastry. But I've definitely had other great pastries around the metro. Service was fine but not overly friendly. So for the price I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.

Probably my favorite spot in Denver right now. It's a ritual to get a 1/3 loaf of shokupan (milk bread) once a week from here. It reminds me of texas toast/wonder bread, but better tasting. Make sure to order online ahead of time (24 hour minimum). You can also call in the day of to see if they made extra. Best matcha latte in Denver, in my opinion. A lot of them are too sweet or too bitter, or too milky. This one is balanced perfectly. If you're grabbing a pastry, the red bean donut, red bean bun, and beef curry have been my favorites so far. They are also all the things I've had here so far; 3 out of 3, they haven't missed! Service here is friendly and prompt, not much else I noticed there. I like the ambiance. It can get quite busy, but the window seating is great for people watching. Improvements: I'd love if they used less plastic where they could, and also recycle where possible. If you're thinking about going here, stop thinking and just do it.

Loved everything about the bakery off of Pearl Street! The prices of pastries were super affordable (I bought 5 pastries for about $20). Everything was delicious, with our favorite being the croissant with a peach half and cream in the middle. I also noticed they have a beverage menu including teas and coffee. The girl work the front was friendly and the space was clean.

Very very good and also super affordable! The custard donut and the beef curry bun were both amazing. I also got a baguette and a sausage pastry (aka hot dog). I would get all of them again. The red bean donut was too sweet for my liking but I saw that was one of their specialities so I had to try it. Can't wait to come back and try more!

This is my favorite bakery in Denver :') Everyone is so nice. The good are always fresh and consistent. Inside the sun usually hits the window in such a nice way, I have loved sitting there and watching outside. Anytime anyone comes to visit Colorado, I always take them here. Many people I've brought said they wish they had a Tokyo Premium Bakery where they lived too.

This Asian bakery on Pearl Street is an absolute gem! All the baked goods are fresh and taste amazing, with a great variety to choose from. The pastries pair perfectly with their delicious coffee, making it a perfect spot to relax or grab a quick treat. The service is excellent, and the cozy, charming atmosphere adds to the experience.

This adorable little bakery reminded me so much of the ones I loved in Japan! Their iced matcha latte was excellent, their pastries were fresh out of the oven and had a wonderful fluffy texture, and staff was friendly and helpful. I love that they let you order ahead so that you can guarantee you'll be able to get a certain item - it's always so sad to come to a bakery and find they've sold out of what you wanted! Their matcha bun and their curry bun were my favorite (the matcha here is genuinely great quality!), but I didn't have a single pastry I didn't like. My family and I enjoyed sampling a bunch of different options and relaxing at the tables. It's a small space, so if you come at a busy time you probably won't be able to dine in. Also, they have Japanese toilets with all the fancy settings, so as weird as it sounds to recommend a bathroom.... All in all, this place was a gem! I will definitely be back next time I visit my family, and I'm so glad to have visited this bakery.

Located on Pearl St. this bakery is conveniently located and cute! Street parking on pearl st. or there is a parking garage but I did not check the prices. I was able to find street parking on a Friday morning :) When you walk in there is a wide selection of pastries on your right. You get a tray and load it up with all the pastries you are dying to try. If something is out they might have it on the cooling rack that was to the right of the register. If it is, you will tell the cashier and they will get it for you. I got a classic, chocolate croissant. The croissant had so many layers! Very flaky and light! The chocolate was a single layer inside the croissant! I don't like it when it's just a pile of chocolate in the middle cause then I feel like you're missing out but this was great cause I got a bit of chocolate with every bite since it was in a layer! I will defiently be going back to get this one again! Also, loved the touch of powdered sugar on top! Very cute and unique! There were so many other fun options and drinks that I wish I had more time so I could have tried them all. I will be going back, hopefully soon :)

A great little Japanese bakery with drinks in the Platt Park neighborhood that is near the farmers market. Expect a line on the weekends. The pastries are fresh and yummy but I would have liked it more if it were able to be heated. Perhaps they offer that when it is not so busy? There is a decent size menu for coffee that includes some trendy drinks. It was my first time trying Hojicha and I really enjoyed it.

I've been dreaming of the beef curry. I didn't know what to expect and it was something so different and new. It's warm and so tasty all inside a pastry! Cute little coffee/ bakery shop vibes. Great location

It was time to pay homage to this bakery as the last visit to this store was two years or so ago. On a very warm Wednesday afternoon (this week) I had a chance to do so. I wonder why this store doesn't have a noticeable sign. I remembered when I went here for the first time, I passed it by without noticing it. That didn't happen the other day but it still looked inconspicuous in a way. It's as if it prefers to exist humbly. If you go here late in the morning or early afternoon most of the items are gone. Such was the case when I stopped by at/around 1:30pm. I managed to find a few good-looking things so I got them. Chocolate Banana (pastry) was very banana-y in the crater; so if you like bananas I highly recommend this one. I also got me a slice of cheesecake (the slices were inside the glass case instead of them being out in the open shelves. The cheesecake was so-so when I had a bite at home. I only ate less than half of it but the very next day I took another bite. Actually it tasted a lot better. I gave a little piece to my daughter and she liked it too. Service was prompt and friendly; a young man at the register said a quick "Hey how's it going?" upon arrival. Like the last time it was very clean inside. I didn't come home being super impressed with the experience but it wasn't a bad one either. I'll make sure to go early next time because I felt like I missed out on the variety.

Among all the quality pastries and buns, I can't get enough of this beef curry bun. It is absolutely a must try. The bun is unlike any other bread I've ever eaten: when it's fresh out of the oven, it has a crispy, fried texture that's not too oily or heavy. The taste of the bread is there and doesn't overpower the curry at all; rather, it becomes the perfect vehicle to deliver quality beef curry (piping hot and perfectly cooked!) straight to your mouth. We planned on sharing one or two, and by the time we left we'd ordered six. Cannot recommend this enough! As for the other pastries, they were also super impressive! A decent amount of offerings had sold out by noonish on a weekday, which is understandable. Honorable mentions to the matcha crème (light, sweet, and not too bitter), the red bean donut (incredibly sweet and delectable red bean filling), and the fruit tarts (pick your favorite fruits, they're all good). I thought the sunrise and custard donut were just fine, as the former was sweet and not too dry while the latter is exactly what you'd expect (and yet I was still surprised by how much custard - not my type, but custard lovers rejoice). But the real star of the show had to be the beef curry bun. Why are you still reading this? Go get a beef curry bun.

Very good bakery!!! Omg a must is the custard donut and beef curry pan. I don't even like curry but the flavors and texture work so well together. The custard donut was delicious and I loved the crunch from the cereal outside! I was a bit disappointed in the matcha cream but it was still good.

My sister in law who lives in Colorado brought us here to try this japanese bakery. We arrived around 10am and unfortunately half of their pastries were sold out but they still had a few Japanese classics left such as melon-pan, custards buns, fruit tarts and curry-pan. I got the beef curry bun and the earl grey croissant and they were very good! I will say the flavors here are more intense versus how they do pastries in Japan - saltier and sweeter - I'm sure to cater to the western palate. Overall, I enjoyed this cute little spot! I also ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk which went perfect with my pastries :)

Good beef curry bun! Often runs out it seems so I had to wait 15 minutes for a fresh batch. I got to eat it hot so I'm not complaining. Limited seating and was packed on a weekday morning.

You guys, this bakery is a must if you're in Denver! Locals will tell you it's one of the best Japanese bakeries around and that everything tastes so authentic. A few of the things I wanted to try were already sold out by the time I got there, so I ended up ordering the Fruit Sandwich, Matcha Latte, Beef Curry bun, and the Matcha Cornet. Everything tasted fantastic! I would say that the Fruit Sandwich and the Beef Curry were my favorites - the texture and flavors were just incredible. Highly recommend going in early or ordering online ahead of time because items do tend to sell out quick. Customer service was excellent!

Really cute/small bakery! Owned by the same people as sushi den/the den corner. Be prepared for a very long line during farmers market Sundays. Otherwise, it can be a pretty quick visit!

Beef curry croquettes 5/5 delicious. If you're taking it to go, reheat it when you're home. I also tried a bunch of their pastries, my favorite ones were the sunrise, choco chip sunrise, and the almond Crossiant. Friendly and fast service. I had a pick up order and everything was correct & ready on time. Inside the store was nice and clean. Street parking outside.

After just one visit, it's easy to understand why Tokyo Premium Bakery is on Yelp's Top 10 Denver Restaurants list. I visited Japan earlier this year and have been searching for the soft breads and flavors I loved so much while there, and I found it at TPB! We tried a beef curry bun, matcha bun, red bean donut, and fruit sando. The beef curry bun is one of the best things I've ever tasted! With a crisp exterior, warm soft interior, and deliciously spiced curry filling, I'll be back to TPB just for this bun. The fruit sando was better than the ones I had in Japan-- soft white bread with fluffy cream and lots of fruit makes for the perfect texture. The matcha latte was excellent with the perfect matcha flavor level. They offer alternative milks for all coffees. The service was friendly and super fast, with our coffees and matchas being prepared in just 2-3 minutes. I have a new addiction with TPB! You will not be disappointed. Get there early (before 10:30am on weekends) to ensure you have your pick as they will sell out.

Absolutely love this little bakery. Their items are perfectly sweet and savory, and you've gotta stop by here if you're a fan of Japanese drinks and pastries. This is a small shop and doesn't have a lot of seating, but it still makes for a pretty good place to work with wifi, an abundance of outlets, and seats facing the open windows. On this last visit, I got 1/3 of a loaf of Shokupan (Japanese milk bread), a Tropical Fruit Croissant, a Beef Curry Bun, and a Matcha Cream Bun. My favorite had to be the Shokupan, which was very lightly sweet and buttery. It's delicate enough to toast in the morning and eat with tea, but it's hearty enough to make sandwiches out of. I was a little disappointed with the Beef Curry Bun--I was hoping it would have a bit more substance to it. Japanese curry usually has chunks of beef, potatoes, and carrots, but this curry was fairly thin. That said, the bun was still crunchy on the outside and well-fried so it wasn't greasy at all, and I would still recommend it for those who want to give it a try. I submitted an online order two days before I wanted to pick it up (they ask for shokupan to be ordered at least 24 hours in advance and other items to be ordered at least 5 hours ahead), and they packed the items fresh when I arrived so they were still warm when I got them. You can come in-person without submitting an order as well, but some items may not be available--they were out of fruit sandwiches by the time I left the store around 9:30 on a weekday.

Such a lovely part of our Denver weekend! The food here is elite. The employees are sweet. The vibes are immaculate. Our favorite was the beef curry and the bacon&egg, but we loved everything we ordered. Highly recommend!

There is nothing like getting something off the rack warm here. Absolute heaven. Flavors are fantastic from the sweet (almond croissant) to the savory (beef curry) so delicious. Service is pleasant . Usually a line . Inside is cute but I usually take home if I can wait and not eat it right away!

Hands down this is my favorite Japanese bakery. There is no place comparable to Tokyo Premium Bakery. All items are baked fresh daily and depending on the time they might be sold out for the day. Prior to arriving, I really wanted to try the melon pan, but when I arrived it was not on the menu. I tried the bacon epi, beef curry, matcha cream, and ham and egg sando. All of them were delicious and fresh. My favorite would definitely be the bacon epi, it was a nice balance of savory. I also ordered the hojicha and matcha latte. Hojicha is the star drink compared to matcha. The matcha flavorless and mild. If you like matcha I highly recommend trying hojicha with oat milk.

Wanted to pick up a couple of Japanese baked goods for my husband before his big boarding trip! He was very impressed by the delicate nature of the buns and pastry. Flavors and textures were delightful! We had the bacon/egg tart- who knew egg salad could be so good? Can't wait to try the sandwiches as well!

Came here during Sunday for the Pearl Street Farmer's Market so it was really busy. It's not a stall or anything but an actual store in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the farmer's market. I really loved the beef curry which I believe is one of their best sellers there. I give a thumbs up for the matcha cream bun and red bean bun. Honestly, so many good options to choose from. I also enjoyed the matcha latte. Service was pretty quick even though you may find a line at 1:00-2:00pm ish. It can get crowded inside but plenty of seating. They offer Wi-Fi and water too.

Oh wow, what a treat! Where do I begin? Sandwiches are phenomenal and curry pocket was unreal. Stand in line, it's worth it.

I'm from LA and surprisingly, this is one of the best food places we tried in Colorado highly recommend the curry beef!

Oh... my.. gosh.. you need to go now. Y'all just try everything. Especially the savory ones! That curry one, not usually my thing, but amazing!! Make it your own tasting experience and try a platter of different things cause that's what we did and it was so much fun! The coffee was surprisingly good too! 5 stars!!

Not sure why this place has such rave reviews. Their baked goods are ok but as my son remarked, they don't offer to heat up your pastries. They taste day old and for the inconvenience of heading there it's not worth the trip. We can get better at Tous and have ample parking and shorter drive. Associate who got pastries was ok, not particularly friendly. Cashier was better. The place is cute. The line out the door. I like that they tell you what's sold out. We had a relaxing time sitting down and eating our pastries. They were cold and a little hard. Lots of to go orders and the long line continued until we left. We will not be back.

I wish yelp had a feature to rate each item at a shop because some items at this bakery were not impressive, while others were AMAZING. I want to start with the AMAZING first, the beef curry was slightly crisp on the outside and the filling was a wonderful flavor. It reminded me of a samosa but it definitely stood out. Everyone enjoyed these warm little pockets of goodness. If I was rating this one item I would give this place five stars because they had friendly service and this item was delicious. The bakery itself was a cute modest spot. Now the other items I will rate as follows: chocolate cornet- 4stars, sunrise-4stars it was a soft sweet cookie, the chocolate banana, peach, and mixed berry-3stars

Visiting Denver for a few weeks and came across this place. I have yet to try most of their stuff but what I have tried so far is not bad. I tried the beef curry pan which was probably just ok. A far cry from what you get in Japan at the convenience stores. Nevertheless, I had to try it. I also tried the Bacon Epi. While different than what you get in Japan, I did enjoy it. The firmness of the bread, the soft and flavorful bacon; perfect combination. I want to describe the bread more. If you've ever had this small bread in Japan (maybe even France) that is firm and has these cute tiny cubes of cheese on top; the texture of the Bacon Epi is kind of like that cheese bread. It's not easy to bite into but that is half the fun. I plan on going there again to try a lot more of their stuff. I'm especially excited to try out their chocolate croissant and mochi stuff. Yes, just like the rest of America; they expect you to tip even though you are paying at the counter; Japanese style. This is an updated review: After reading several reviews here pertaining to this store, I wanted to modify my review pertaining to the beef curry pan. I realize that it is not fair on my part to compare the 'flavor' of things like the curry pan (and I do this a lot I realize) to the original places I have had them in. Each chef has their own understanding of flavors; that's how a variety of flavors come out. That said, I will try the curry pan one more time without any expectation for it to be the same like you get in Japan; it won't be and that's just the nature. There are too many variables. The flour, the water, the salt you get here and above all, the baker's creativity. So please don't not try the curry pan based on my review before. Give it a shot.

Depending on the time of day, there can be a line out the door at this place. If you go later, it's usually not so crowded. Love this little cafe on one of my favorite streets in Denver!

Have always wanted to try this place, because I've only ever heard good things. When we arrived on Saturday morning there was a line out the door. The full selection was not there bc of how busy it was but I was still able to try the curry bun and hot dog bun. Both were delicious. There is limited seating compared to the crowd, but we were able to find a seat to enjoy our bread. It was so yum! I will be back.

Tokyo Premium Bakery is my go-to spot whenever I visit Colorado (usually every winter). Their Latte's, smoothies, and pastries are all satisfyingly delicious. I like how their matcha latte's weren't too sweet, either. My friends and I probably tried every single pastry. None of them disappoint. They also loaves of bread or baguette. I came here on a whim after seeing it pop up on a Denver article for baked goods. My husband and I were visiting and on our way back to the airport- perfect little stop for a treat! The bakery is on a cute little street and was pretty small inside- we were not able to pick our own pastries from the selection, and all were individually wrapped. I decided to get the earl grey croissant and my husband got the choco-banana pastry- mine was DELICIOUS (seriously, if you like earl grey.. you'll happily enjoy this!), and husband said the choco-banana was just okay. The real winner here was the iced hojicha latte I got. It's pretty difficult in general to find hojicha on ANY menu, which is my favorite type of green tea, and damn... this was GOOD. It immediately took me back to my childhood and I wanted to save the moment. Truly recommend this drink... Still thinking about the creaminess over a week later. *sigh* If I ever come back to Denver, this is a MUST STOP!

Tokyo Premium has such delicious pastries and appetizers, we went there twice in three days! The tuna roll, banana fruit pastry, chocolate croissant and the hot cream beef sandwich are all very tasty. The one pastry that I thought was a miss was the almond croissant. Instead of being soft and flaky, it was very hard and dry. In order to 'save' this, I added it to my hot coffee. All in all, a very excellent experience.

My first visit and of course I attempted to order one of each delicacy! The top three IMO in no particular order include the BEEF CURRY BUN, SLICE OF BASQUE CHEESECAKE, and CUSTARD DONUT. Cheesecake is not on any online menus I could find so definitely ask about it over the phone or in the bakery. At 6am on a Thursday morning, the selection was great and street parking plentiful. Would love to come back and try a matcha latte.

Stopped in and ordered the matcha cream to go! The pricing was great at 2.80 for the matcha cream. The pastry outside was soft and delicious and the matcha inside was so yummy! I'm a matcha enthusiast and this hit the spot! Ordered at the counter and got it to go so the service interaction was minimal but good! There was free street parking out front of this business.

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast and matcha beverages. I love the food options. There are so many to choose from. Matcha is so good and makes me want more. I return any chance I can. The service is quicks and friendly.

We love this bakery. I'm so sad I didn't take any pictures of the other stuff we got. Everything is baked fresh daily! We tried the beef curry bun, hot dog bun, custard bun, cream cheese pastry, fruit sando, tuna sando, and cheese cake! Our favorites were the curry beef bun, the fruit sandos, the tuna egg sando, and the cheesecake! I wish we lived close by because we would go everyday except Monday, Tuesday because they are closed! A tragedy ... The curry bun was hot , the bun was crispy and yummy. The fruit sandos were some of the best I've had. I loved the bread, not too thick . The cream was perfectly sweetened and the fruits were fresh and sweet. The cheesecake, my god... it was superb. The texture was soft but not extremely thick like regular cheesecake. It wasn't too sweet as well. Overall, 10/10 bakery!!

Who doesn't love a delicious baked good?! I wanted a quick snack to hold me over until dinner and stopped by at Tokyo Premium Bakery. I noticed a lot of the items on the menu were crossed out as they were sold out (I went around 1 p.m. on a Saturday) - if you want something specific, definitely order in advance. My husband and I each ordered 2 pastries, iced hojicha latte, and an iced matcha and spent a little over $25. The latte was really good, had a thicker consistency, and paired well with the pastries. I really wanted to try their sandwiches, but they were sold out for the day. They're located on a street with plenty of other shops and restaurants, so grab a bite to eat and take a stroll! There was also plenty of free street parking.
