Tjing Tjing House (Rooftop Bar, Torii Restaurant, Momiji Restaurant & Lounge)

The lovely food here is out of this world! I went with a friend and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food. The star of the food experience is the S'Mochi which I am OBSESSED with! Our waiter for the evening was Luke. He appeared at the correct times, was a gracious and attentive. The photos taken doesn't do it justice. We were downstairs in the Torii area (I think that is what it is called).

I thoroughly enjoyed dinner with my son at Tjing Tjing on a Tuesday evening. We arrived at 5:30 pm, ahead of the dinnertime rush. When we left at about 7 pm, it was getting busy. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The downstairs dining area is quite plain and understated. The second floor looks more lavish with sunken seating and private dining areas, and upstairs, there's a rooftop bar. Our food was brought to us without too long a wait. We had Ramin and dumplings. Everything was delicious. For dessert, we had the yummiest mini-doughnuts in a honey caramel syrup. We were lucky enough to find parking close to the restaurant, but I imagine that some nights, you might have to park farther away and walk. Having not been there after dark, I can't comment on the safety aspect.

This place is a vibe! Let’s start with the staff—they’re beyond awesome! Super friendly, welcoming, and always up for a chat, they really make you feel like you’re part of the Tjing Tjing family. And the food? AMAZING. Every dish is a flavor bomb that leaves you wanting more. Whether you’re trying something new or sticking to a favorite, you’re in for a treat. The creativity and quality in every bite are just off the charts.

It's seldom I experience a place with food of this calibre and an atmosphere that accentuates the experience to such an extent that I would highly recommend to anyone to take their significant others or friends to try their amazing Japanese cuisine. The staff are wonderful and a friendly chap by the name of Luke gave us such wonderful service that we will be going back very soon for more. This is one of the best spots in Capetown hands down because it offers three different floors with different atmospheres and cuisine that will take your pallets on a magic carpet ride. I recall walking to the rest room and catching a glimpse of a very clean kitchen with hard working staff that have no trouble taking a quick second to indulge my compliments whilst handling a full house of patrons. Thank you Tjing Thing you never disappoint and my partner and I cherish this place to celebrate our achievements.

We are a family of three and had an early dinner at the Torii restaurant. For starters we ordered the sticky pork belly yakitory (excellent), pork and chive gyosa (excellent) and the okonomiyaki fries (also excellent). For mains we had a pork belly bento (very good), a butadon (excellent) and the spicy smokey beef ramen (okay-ish). We asked that everything be delivered to our table all at once, which was no problem. Staff were super friendly and the vibe is great.

I really like this place. Consistently every time I've gone there the food has been delicious, the waiters charming and the atmosphere eerie but warm. Can fully recommend for a break from the noise. Especially, I like their cocktail selection.

The food is absolutely delicious, no doubt about that. While it is definitely on the pricey side, for the specific food cuisine offered, it is worth it. We ordered a bunch of starters which were filling enough that we didn’t feel the need for mains, and the drinks were great! There are also plenty of vegetarian options which is always appreciated. Can recommend the bao buns and rice balls.

Went here with a friend on Saturday night for some cocktails and mochi. We sat at the rooftop bar and the service was impeccable. I've been here before downstairs in Tori and that was also good. The mochi was really nice - we tried 4 flavours. The chocolate cookie (?) one was the best and the matcha is also a winner. The cocktails were very nice and the menu illustrations are so cute! Very nice atmosphere.
