The Well Spa & Hotel

We went to the evening spa and it was the best I’ve experienced, ever. Beautiful, clean, big enough not be to crowded, such a variety of experiences, special rituals (sauna), nice staff. We will be back for the hotel stay next time. Regarding nudity, I know that will be a personal preference for people but what I can say as a woman is that it felt very safe a totally comfortable.

This place was so relaxing! I've been to quite a few "Nordic" bath spas across Canada but this was 100x better. For any hesitant North Americans, especially women, I felt 100% safe going fully nude. We were very worried beforehand but decided to skip out on buying swimsuits since they were expensive. You have to remove the swimsuits in the saunas and steam baths anyway. I'm glad I didn't buy one. It felt very freeing and the spa goers were so respectful. There was no staring or any uncomfortable interactions with anybody. I noticed people always kept their gaze away from you and men always sat on the other side of the room or waited if they noticed us, a group of women, in a space. For anyone on the fence about that I highly recommend trying it, it was really refreshing experiencing a culture where bodies aren't treated like a big deal (this would never work in NA which is a bit sad). There were a ton of different rooms to try and they were well designed. I do wish they offered free towel changes, the ones in Canada let you change towels for free. When you're there all day the towels get really wet. I also wish the steam baths were scented with essential oils as well.

We spent a magical day at this spa. It is “clothing optional “ which actually means if you don’t want to go naked, you have to buy their bathing suit. They have plenty of options for bathing suits….BUT ATTENTION AMERICANS: take advantage of being able to be naked in amazing water. Nothing feels quite like it. For one thing you’re not walking around in a wet bathing suit all day! And there’s nothing funky or weird about being naked there. Just feels completely natural. It seemed like there were endless different pools, Jacuzzis, showers, sauna, and just fantastic places to lay out either inside or outside. They have beautiful sculptures scattered throughout the property with an outdoor space that is a sculpture garden right by the beautiful forest right by the pool. Highly recommend for a wonderful day. An easy bus ride from Oslo. You can even stay for dinner in your bathrobe!!

This was an incredible experience! First of all - there are a lot of complaints about buying their swimsuits, however, this is clearly explained on their website so I don't see the confusion. Further, saunas around the world are more often than not nude, so it really shouldn't be such a big deal. Just get naked. We loved our time here. We arrived early and they were able to check us into the room without a problem. Reception was very friendly and easy. The rooms are gorgeous - well thought through, clean and very comfortable. The spa is mind blowing. Such a huge choice of pools, saunas and steam rooms, as well as indoor and outdoor places to sit and relax. The aufguss rituals were amazing and such a great experience. The breakfast was nice and the restaurant was also lovely with nice service. We really can't complain about anything and enjoy our time for the 2 days we stayed. We had one issue with the room which the reception addressed immediately and corrected. I highly recommend this spa and hotel!

On our Holiday-Trip to Gothenborg we stay an extra night in The Well, because we want to learn some about this SPA with “Aufguss” in Norge. The Hotel is a modern and comfortable one and a good Combination to the Sauna. And after a day in the SPA, I need no TV. The Sauna Area is very good. All you need, you get there (Bathrobe, Towels etc.). For us as German it is normal, to be naked in a Sauna and feel free. That’s why, we need no swimwear. You find various Sauna in the Area, from Forest, Japanese and Finnish. And all the “Aufguss” were perfect and very professional. And that we say with the traditional critical german eyes… If Germany had invented the Aufguss- The Well had make that to a great own Highlight. A very special ritual is also the Ice Bucket Experience- a WOW! – Experience. In the Brasserie we get a very delicious Dinner by a very kindly and professional Team. It was a very nice End of the Sauna-Day. That the Bar is closed on Monday is not so good, but the other Restaurant had also drinks, and so it was no big Problem. All together it was a very nice Holiday We can highly recommended The Well. Thanks! at the hole Team.

Disappointing. The best water attractions have been closed forever and they have lowered the temperature of the water making it mildly warm everywhere! What a waste of great installations! The best is the shower which is a normal shower so it’s a bit expensive for an enjoyable shower.

Absolutely my first and last time . We left about 25000 for the weekend . The room was small and far from cozy . There was only a bed in the room. A night in such a room cost 3000kr . The water in the Jacuzzi was dirty with bits of dry skin floating in it. There were lines at some bathhouses. We had no wifi in our room . The staff was not responsive . There was not even a TV in the room. Food in two restaurants ok . The bar is excellent . When I called on the phone to reschedule dates at this hotel , the staff spoke to me rudely and arrogantly . Yuck! Never again . I don't recommend it at all .

I stayed at the hotel for three nights. Loved splitting my time between the wonderful indoor/outdoor spa facilities and Oslo sightseeings. Contrary to what I have read the rules are very clear and perfectly sensible. And the top quality of the food (breakfast, Brasseriet, Mori) is rarely underlined. An amazing experience overall.

First I'd like to say, thank you for the availability and the opportunity to stay at your establishment. I had the please to stay for 5 nights and my only regret, I didn't stay longer. Next time, I'm staying for a few weeks. This place is nothing but apart of heaven. The staff were extremely helpful and amazing. Even the other guest guests were very polite and fun to be around. It was a very pleasant experience and well needed. I'd recommend this establishment to everyone. I look forward to rebooking again in the future.

The Well is by far the best spa experience I have ever had. We ended up spending about 5 hours there. Multiple sauna rooms. I did 2 sauna rituals, that were really amazing. The first one was performed by a Russian girl and the second one by a Finnish lady. The music was very upbeat and they both did sort of a dance with a towel. I truly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone that visits Oslo. Definitely the highlight of my trip. I also had a juice that hit the spot. Carrots and ginger.

I have been to heaven, it's called The Well! During my 60+ years on this planet, my wife and I have visited numerous spas throughout the US and Europe, receiving hundreds of spa treatments. This spa trumps them all! It's a very special place. No spa or wellness clinic world wide can compare to the sophistication, beauty, professionalism and expertise by the staff and the entire resort. The Well has set the bar so high, I am uncertain it can be topped by any other spa or resort. It's super clean, beautiful and the spa treatments, sauna's, steam baths and hot tubs make you feel like you are experiencing either an out of body experience or in a dream. We spent two weeks traveling from the north cape, all along the coast of Norway, and our visit to The Well was our best experience and made our trip worthwhile. We had two full days of sightseeing in Oslo and choose to trash those plans and spend the entire time at The Well. Our room was clean and queen size bed was very comfortable. Shower was better than any hotel we visited along our two week trip. We dined at the Brasserie restaurant and food/service was the best we experienced along our two week trip. The food and dishes at the Brasserie were better than most Michelin five star restaurants we have ever dined. Even the bar tenders were awesome, drinks were delicious and unique and they were knowledgeable about everything Norwegian. We were their two day and spent every single minute from 8am to 22pm in the spa. Approximately 75-80% of the people there we in Well Swim wear and the other 25-10% were natural. If we lived in Norway, we would be regulars! In my opinion, The Well should be designated a Norwegian national treasure. If I could rate them 100 stars, I certainly would.

This spa does not disappoint. Hands down the best spa that I have ever visited. Multiple steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, pools, massage jets , out door pools and bar and my favorite was the waterfall cave. I can not describe how gorgeous, relaxing and spectacular this place is. 3 levels of everything you could ever want. Be prepared to stay the entire day as I only was there 3 hours and wished I would have stayed longer. Pay the extra and do the day delux package. You can take the free bus from city center . Amazing, amazing amazing!
