At the historic Stonewall Inn, sip drinks in the very spot where a movement ignited, blending vibrant nightlife with a powerful legacy of LGBTQ+ pride.
"The birthplace for the 1969 riots that helped launch the Gay Rights movement, Stonewall is still a rousing, though very touristy, Village destination to pay tribute to the movement. Downstairs, there’s a pool table and a large bar area with bar seating and tables. Upstairs, there’s another bar plus a dance floor and stage that hosts various events, including drag shows, ’90s karaoke, and more." - Eater Staff
"Stonewall Inn feels historic right when you walk in. That’s due, in part, to the fact Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera resisted a police raid here, effectively launching the gay rights movement in 1969. But also because they probably haven’t renovated in several decades. There’s a long, divey bar on the ground floor, and upstairs you’ll find a small stage for drag shows. This place is by no means anyone’s go-to for a wild night out, but if you’ve never been to Stonewall, it’s definitely worth making a trip. And it’s still definitely the most fun you’ll have at a New York City Landmark." - rob anderson, matt clifton, nikko duren, neha talreja, bryan kim

"In honor of the National Trans Visibility March happening in Orlando on October 9th, Bronx-based LGBTQ resource center Destination Tomorrow and LGBTQ counseling service TransNewYork have coordinated a series of satellite events to discuss and celebrate trans visibility. So if you’re looking for something to do in the West Village this weekend, Stonewall Inn will be hosting a viewing party on October 9th from 1-4pm. It’ll be fun way to watch the march live, followed by a panel discussion with LGTBQ activists and organizers from across the country. Check out this post for more NYC spots hosting watch parties this weekend." - nikko duren
"The Stonewall Inn is celebrating Juneteenth the best way they know how: drag, drinks, and mutual support. They’ve teamed up with Impulse Group NYC and The Phluid Project to host The Invasion: Juneteenth Edition, an evening celebrating African-American queer culture. The event will raise money for The Sylvia Rivera Law Project, which works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race and without facing harassment, discrimination, or violence. Come by on Sunday after 9pm. There's a $5 suggested donation at the door, and all proceeds go to SRLP. " - neha talreja
