Tucked away in the Roosevelt Hotel, this chic cocktail lounge pairs vintage bowling with expertly crafted drinks and a lively, nostalgic vibe.
"Deep down you know the idea of sitting next to your coworkers for an entire dinner won’t end well. So, let’s go bowling instead. The Spare Room (inside the Roosevelt Hotel) is part bar, part restaurant, with a few bowling lanes thrown into the mix. If that sounds cheesy to you, know that this place’s Old Hollywood feel steers it clear from Dave & Buster’s territory. Capacity: Full buyout fits 200 people. Regular reservations available for any size party." - brant cox, nikko duren
"“Spare Room is an LA staple inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Great cocktails and perfect for late-night hangs. It’s got this classic Hollywood vibe that’s hard to beat. Also, bowling.”" - brennan carley
"The Roosevelt Hotel is one of the best things to happen to Hollywood since the creation of Hollywood, and The Spare Room is easily our favorite space on the property. Located on the second floor of the iconic hotel, The Spare Room is a good cocktail bar known for one thing: bowling. There are two full bowling lanes in this throwback lounge, and scores are kept the old-fashioned way—by writing them down. The wait gets serious for it though, so put your name in early and go get drunk while you wait." - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren
"The Spare Room inside The Roosevelt hotel in Hollywood is one of LA’s all-time great bars, and it has its two lanes of vintage bowling to partially thank for that. What’s vintage bowling? Basically, no aggressive neon blue TV screens searing your retinas all night. Scoring is kept the old-fashioned way—by writing it all down. The excellent cocktails coming out of the bar are the cherry on top." - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren
"Hiding away on the second floor of the Roosevelt Hotel, it’s easy to forget about The Spare Room sometimes. But this is one of the best bars in Hollywood. The place is massive, with a great bar area, plenty of booths, and two lanes of bowling to get your cardio in. But put your Lucky Strike fears away - this is old-fashioned bowling and scores are kept by actually writing them down. Just make sure you reserve a lane in advance." - brant cox, brett keating
