The Prince Hotel

I visited The Prince Public Bar last weekend and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, and the staff were super friendly. I was served by an American guy who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Highly recommend this place for both tasty food and excellent service!

Late at night and it's still ridiculously loud thanks to a party hosted by the hotel. Even noise canceling headphones aren't enough for this bs. At this price you'd expect a decent sleep but this noise would be bad even for a $30 hostel. When a hotel is failing this badly at the #1 purpose of a hotel, nothing else really matters. Second star is for the killer location. AC works. The room is a bit cramped but clean and cozy with a pleasant visual style. Maybe it isn't this awful every night but I'm not sticking around to find out.

I love this hotel. It’s just different. Not stiff or ostentatious. The rooms are so beautifully done. Gorgeous bathroom and soft furnishings. The best position, central to everything. Complimentary glass of wine. Cheap, secure parking. It just has a good vibe about it . I’ve stayed a few times now and will again.

We had our Christmas party on the deck for the LongView team and it was amazing. Beautiful venue and the food was amazing. The team were all terrific too. Thank you for helping us celebrate the end of a terrific year :)

What a fantastic buzz it was to have a meal and go to a concert hereto see James Reyne. the staff were flat out and excellent in their service of meals and courtesy.. loved it will be back

Our stay at The Prince Hotel was great! The room (Premier Suite) was lovely with two bathrooms, a separate living area and a balcony. Patryk and the whole team were so friendly and accommodating. The location is very handy as well.

Little Prince Wine Bar presents a great chilled vibe with outstanding warm and friendly service. A great wine selecting experience and the food is great to share.

We went to The Prince to watch the Chiefs vs. Bills NFL Conference Championship, as advertised on their website. The promotion promised an "unbeatable atmosphere" for game day, but it was completely misleading. When we asked the staff to turn on the volume for the game, they refused, stating they never turn the sound on for any sporting events. How can you promote a major sports event without providing sound? It was impossible to enjoy the game properly, and we ended up having to leave and relocate to another venue just to get the experience we were looking for. Unfortunately, we missed part of the game because of this and were very disappointed. If you're looking for a true sports-watching experience, this is NOT the place to go. The advertising is deceptive, and the experience was underwhelming.

Booked a queen bed and received a full. Did not honor booking and did not advise at point of check In hat lesser room was provided. Location is noisy, rooms are very dated and property overall is overrated and at best 3.5 stars. Relies on its location for its reputation! Definitely not 5 star.

Wow! Haven eaten here for a while. The cuisine now is middle eastern flavoured. The dishes were so tasty, not too rich and wow, they have really stepped it up. The service, great. The drinks fantastic. Atmosphere great. We cervice, lamb and prawn skewers, tasty mushrooms and more. The roast chicken was fantastic. All deserts super. We ended up eating there twice in the same day. Just great.

Here for work, I was a bit hesitant booking the Prince knowing it's also home to the Price of Wales pub and also traveling with my boss, I thought this could be a disaster BUT I'm pleased to be wrong - what a brilliant hotel!! The hotel is stylish but small, and most of all quiet! My room was super elegant but minimal. Being a frequent traveller for work, I am now a collector Of bathroom accessories which were a decent brand (Malin + Goetzi). The bed - holy crap, the kind I got out of finally, 1 hour past my alarm, I did not want to move from the bed - so good! Only giving it 4 because the rooms do need a lick of paint, they aren't the newest but the marks on walls could very easily be glossed over by many a traveller. And did I mention, the normal check out time is 11am! Where on earth does that happen without having to pay a fee?! Cheers! Really good wifi connection in room and an even better one in their restaurant where I'm currently having breakfast which is included in the room. I chose a homemade crumpet with Parisan butter and leatherwood honey, so good. Yay and would SO recommend!

I am staying at The Prince for the 5th time, it is as wonderful as always, exceptional service, chic surroundings, incredible breakfast included in the rate at Circa and a Dutch woman working at front desk whose energy and enthusiasm typify this great city. I could never stay anywhere else in Melbourne.

I've only ever been to Prince of Wales on a Monday for gay night. Usually a great time. Cheap beer, indie guys, Drag Queen arm wrestling, and dancing on tables in the dark with lasers shining in your eye. A good place to get pissed out of your mind and do things you'll regret and laugh about the next day.

Prince of Wales Hotel in St Kilda is one of the last dive bars around. It's dodgy enough to feel edgy and yet you're not scared you will be bashed if you win at pool. Everyone's really friendly in there and don't be surprised if an old codger asks you to play with him.... pool I mean. They have $2.50 pots on a Monday night and the room next door is gay night and has a drag show. Upstairs is The Bandroom which have all sorts of live gigs on there. Friday and Saturdays can be a little young for me, but great clubbing if that's what you're in to. There's something for everyone at The Prince and it's on Fitzroy street so there are plenty of options for a cracking night out.

I loved this hotel. It is small, stylish and in a great location. The internet service is flawless, the room was quiet, the hotel was clean, and the price is reasonable. The breakfast served in the morning was much better than most hotels. The location is very close to many restaurants. My only difficulty was getting cabs in the mornings.
