This vibrant bar in Little Five Points serves up a stellar brunch, boasts a massive beer selection, and offers a cool, funky atmosphere perfect for foodies and beer lovers alike.
"If you’re a beer lover, The Porter, a landmark beer hall in Little Five Points, should be on your radar. It's been around since 2008 and has been through its share of adventures, including a two-year pandemic closing. But one thing has remained the same—their massive beer selection of 60 drafts, including a wide variety of regional brews and more than 800 bottles of cellar-aged beer. If you need a brew break, try their lemon gingerade. Flavored with housemade lemon-ginger syrup, the refreshing drink pairs perfectly with their incredible, tender beer-brined roast chicken and fries. Grab a seat with your crew at the ridiculously long bar up front or make your way to the noisy two-tiered dining room. Food Rundown Black Truffle Deviled Eggs You get five, and they’re great—creamy, with the truffle, chives, and pepper adding a subtle tang. Crispy Hen of the Woods Mushrooms These mushrooms are huge and crunchy. It's a big portion, so it’s a great order for sharing. Pull-A-Part Pretzel Soft in the middle, salty on top, and served with a side of silky cheese. You could come here just for this. Fish n’ Chips The fish is fine—a solid take on the classic with one huge piece of crunchy, salt-crusted haddock. But the fries are the real stars here—crispy, salty, and sprinkled with parsley. Roast Chicken A standout dish—a beer-brine gives it a deep flavor. And it’s topped with herby zhoug. Grilled Cauliflower This feels like it clocked out of its shift at some fine dining restaurant, and came to the bar for a drink. With crispy salad in a zesty vinaigrette, a cauliflower puree base, and big meaty mushrooms, it's one of the best-tasting (and best-looking) vegetable dishes you’ll find at a pub. photo credit: Tabia Lisenbee-Parker photo credit: Tabia Lisenbee-Parker photo credit: Tabia Lisenbee-Parker" - Jacinta Howard
"The Porter in Little Five Points has been a landing spot for beer lovers since 2008. After closing for two years during the pandemic, it has reopened under new ownership with a revamped menu and interior. But we’re glad they’ve kept their most important attribute—their beer selection, which has more options than Tubi has obscure movies. Bring a big group and impress your beer-snob friend with a wide selection of regional brews, 60 taps (they added 18 since reopening), and more than 800 bottles of cellar-aged beer. Grab a seat at the long bar or in the two-tiered dining room, then order the tender beer-brined roast chicken and crispy fries." - nina reeder, juli horsford, jacinta howard
"It’s all about the beer at The Porter. The word “extensive” does not quite manage to capture their 800+ choice beer list. From Tripels to Flanders Red Ales to Lambics, every style of beer is represented here. The menu of inventive bar food — like a house-smoked kabano sausage topped with giardinera — suggests pairings for each dish. The bar also hosts a variety of tastings and classes. Lunch and dinner are served daily, plus a “hair of the dog” brunch on Sunday." - Rogers Eckersley Design

"After 14 years of owning and operating one of Atlanta’s most iconic watering holes, Molly Gunn and Nick Rutherford are moving on from the Porter Beer Bar in Little Five Points (L5P)." - Austin L. Ray
