My visit to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne was an unforgettable experience that left me in awe of the rich history and spirit of the modern Olympic Games. From the moment I arrived, the stunning outdoor area set the tone for what was to come. The artwork and statues surrounding the museum are truly captivating. Each piece seemed to tell its own story, perfectly encapsulating the essence of athleticism, perseverance, and human achievement. The beautifully manicured gardens added to the serene and inspiring ambiance, making the outdoor spaces just as much a part of the museum experience as the exhibits inside. Inside, the displays were thoughtfully curated and brimming with fascinating artifacts. The video presentations, in particular, were a highlight for me. They complemented the exhibits seamlessly, weaving a compelling narrative that brought the history of the modern Olympics to life. It felt like stepping into the heart of the Games, from their origins to the present day. Overall, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne is a must-visit for anyone interested in art, history, or sports. Loved it. I didn’t realise that I would enjoy it so much, even though I’m more into getting the masses to get moving & become their best (friend).

Dedicated to chronicling the history of the Olympics, this museum features an exciting array of articles used in previous Olympics. From the Olympic Fire outside, to the torches, mascots and outfits used inside, this was an educational experience all around! We enjoyed the temporary exhibit describing the 1900, 1924 and 2024 Paris Olympics. Access to the museum free with Lausanne travel pass. Lovely park outside with a fantastic view of the lake.

Olympics Museum As a fan of the Olympics, I was giddy to be in the presence of greatness. I learned a lot of things, most especially the contribution of the founder. My favorite part is the original Olympic flag displayed here. The torch, costumes, mascots, and memorabilia of each and every player is interesting to see. This was also free from the Swiss Travel Pass. The Olympics Museum garden is fun to visit as well overlooking Lake Geneva outside.

Visiting this museum is a must for anyone interested in sports spending a couple of days in the Olympic capital, Lausanne. If you have a family with half grown children, entrance is expensive. The place is very educational and you can buy stuff in the museum shop that will make your friends think you might have been an olympian, or at least been to one or several of the games. The terraced gardens merit time to enjoy the installations and the view of the French Alps across the lake.

I enjoyed it! Very nice to learn about the history of the Olympics. Only downside is they have the medal viewing closed for renovations which I was hoping to see. But overall very lovely place. Hope to come back one day… see you maybe in 4 or so years.
