Step into the Olde Pink House, an elegant Georgian mansion in Savannah where inventive Southern fare meets history, topped off with live music in a cozy tavern.
"The appropriately-named Olde Pink House is easy to find, with its iconic shade of pink, right across from Reynolds Square. The classic art-filled dining room with patina walls feels like you’re traveling back in time, while the menu includes Southern classics with the occasional twist, like fried green tomatoes, fried chicken with macaroni and cheese, and shrimp and grits “sushi.” We like this place best for dinner, when they serve more substantial plates that include crispy scored flounder and grilled pork tenderloin. Arches Bar, inside the same space, is a casual alternative if you can’t get into the main restaurant, and offers many of the same menu items, along with cocktails like the Pink Lady, made with lemonade and local Ghost Coast raspberry vodka." - caroline eubanks
"A city for a long weekend featuring open container policies, southern live oaks, historic cemeteries, and haunted buildings."
"The Olde Pink House is Savannah’s elegant and quintessential Southern restaurant. Every dish, like cornbread fried oysters, crispy fried lobster, and she crab soup, falls squarely in the elevated comfort food category. The Georgian pink house, which dates from the 1770s, was home to Georgia’s first bank in the 1800s, before eventually becoming a restaurant in 1971. Over the years, owners have added Arches Bar on the southern side of the house and Planters Tavern, a one-table wine vault that can be reserved for special occasions. Run by executive chef Vincent Burns since 1997, the Olde Pink House has remained one of Savannah’s top picks for a nice night out." - Elizabeth Bowers
