"By way of a serene neutral interior—complete with cactus plants and lots of driftwood—this massage spa aims to recreate a little piece of Tulum in the center of Los Angeles. They're also open until 10pm, catering to a crowd that can't always break away during the day for some spa time. The best part, however, is the pricing: $35 gets you a 25-minute massage ($95 for 85 minutes). They recently launched a monthly membership service which is pretty great too, for those who want pampering more regularly. While you can book an appointment through their site or app, they also allow walk-ins. The original location is in West Hollywood, with others in Santa Monica, Studio City, and its newest in Silver Lake. "

I have gone to The Now for 6 plus years now and have always been a fan. So much so my friends get me gift cards for my birthday. Unfortunately, my experience today has changed that for me and I don’t think that I will ever be going back. For context, I have only ever left a few reviews on Google or yelp but this one I felt was necessary. The Now was always a place I went for a reasonable and good massage. I always knew it wasn’t luxury or private but I never found the lack of privacy to be overly distracting. My experience today didn’t allow me to relax at all because for the first 40 minutes or so of my 80 minute long massage, there was constant laughing, giggling, whispering, and doors opening and closing from what I presumed to be the employees. A lot of the time I heard whispering with a name Daisy mentioned, which come to find out she was one of the girls at the front desk. It was a really big bummer because it was truly hard to relax. My masseuse was great and it was not at all her fault, but my experience was not great. I told the front desk when I checked out and she apologized but was pretty cavalier about it and when I mentioned I likely wouldn’t be returning, she said she was sorry and that was it. Since the massage is now not much cheaper than a luxury private experience, at a location with front desk employees who are loud and disruptive during the massage process, I sadly won’t be returning. I may give another location a shot but my experience really changed my view of the place and as someone who used to recommend this spot to a lot of people, I felt it was deserving of a review.

From the moment I walked into NOW Massage, I was impressed by the attentiveness and warmth of the front desk staff Sasha. They made me feel welcomed and at ease right away. The massage itself was incredible—one of the best I’ve ever had. The therapist was skilled, intuitive, and truly attentive to my needs. I left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!

Google
I had an absolutely amazing experience at The NOW Massage! The atmosphere was calming and beautifully designed to help you disconnect and relax. Absolutely loved the decor. A special shoutout to Sasha at the front desk, whose warm and welcoming energy set the tone for the entire visit. She was incredibly professional, attentive, and kind—making the check-in process seamless and ensuring I felt comfortable from the very beginning. Her customer service was truly top-notch and made me feel genuinely valued as a guest. The massage itself was exceptional—tailored to my needs and incredibly therapeutic. I highly recommend The NOW Massage, and if you’re lucky enough to be greeted by Sasha, you’re in especially good hands. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

I had an incredible experience with Sarah at the Beverly Blvd location. She was not only attentive and kind, but also highly skilled. I added the gua sha treatment to my session, and it was clear she knew exactly what she was doing—it made a noticeable difference. I’ll definitely be returning for another massage!

Love The Now at WeHo! The staff and massage therapists are incredibly welcoming and kind. I recently had a massage with Carmella and added hot stones—absolutely amazing! It really helped relieve tension in my shoulders. I’ve also had a massage with Linda, and she was wonderful as well. Both of these lovely ladies made me feel completely relaxed and refreshed after my sessions!

Google
The best 25 minute massage ever! Junny is amazing and helped alleviate my neck/shoulder pain. I also tried the new crystal hot stones which left me feeling even more relaxed. The staff and ambiance are truly welcoming, definitely worth every minute!

Sabrina was absolutely amazing! She's incredibly intuitive and provided one of the best experiences I've had here. I love the atmosphere, and everyone is so kind whenever I'm here. The entire vibe makes it feel so relaxing. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Came here for a late massage and it was amazing. As soon as you walk in you're greater with a beautiful and relaxing vibe. They offer refreshments like lemon water while you wait to be seen. I got their signature 'The Now' 50 minute massage. It included aromatherapy which was a nice touch. There's also beautiful ocean sounds that play while getting your massage which was so relaxing. After the massage the masseuse let me know about some tension areas in my shoulder that should pay extra attention to. Their service and hospitality is honestly great. Lots of metered parking and street parking in the area as well. I would recommend.

Raven S.

Yelp
Cynthia did amazing. From greeting me and asking questions, to the massage and her work of art! I caught myself snoring on the massage table, it was definitely worth it!

Nicole C.

Yelp
I started a membership a few months ago with Now massage. The massage therapists are all wonderful but Johnnae is AMAZING! I've been having joint issues and she really works at the root of each issue. She is so attentive and consistent! As much as I would love to keep her a secret, she really is a great massage therapist. She even suggests after the massage what things you can do to alleviate your initial concerns. I hope she goes nowhere because if she does, I'm following!

Diana S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere, very clean, super relaxing. Theresa S. is an absolute gem. Hands down best massage therapist I have ever experienced in the last 35 years. Absolute magic. I always walk out like a brand new person. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Making an appointment shouldn't be this complicated. We just wanted a simple deep tissue massage for two people at the same time. It's also a little too frilly for my taste. I would prefer a better massage, than one where the masseuse is so concerned about tucking the sheet in just right and putting a heavy blanket over me even though it was 85 degrees outside. If they ask you if you want your scalp massaged - I would recommend saying no because just as much time was spent on my head as on my back. This place tries for more style over substance.

Tandis M.

Yelp
Got a super relaxing summer Fridays massage. Professional staff, clean facility and relaxing environment. Would definitely recommend

Yelp
I made an appointment because my lower back/ lumbar areas have been sore for a few weeks- I asked the massage therapist to focus solely on my lower back and some on my upper shoulder area as well. She spent the majority of the time on my neck and upper back, and although she stated after the session that she "focused on the lower back at the end" it was hardly any time- which was the whole point of me going there. When we had about 20 mins left I asked her to focus on my lower back but then she worked on my legs instead, then moved into the scalp renewal (which I understand needs to take up the final stretch of time) but even spending 5 more mins in my lower back would've been something. I even had explicitly said I don't care about getting my arms and legs massaged at all. Overall I feel like my main concern/wish was not heard. Very disappointing. I left with my lower back feeling exactly the same: tight and uncomfortable. The room was also too cold- my exposed areas were too uncomfortable and chilly for me to actually lie down and relax. When I mentioned this the massage therapist did immediately turn on my heat pad but my back which wasn't covered was still cold the entire time. I also asked to reduce pressure on my neck bc I'm very sensitive there. She did put lighter pressure but now the left side of my neck HURTS when I turn my head. I know what typical post-massage soreness is supposed to feel like and this isn't it. It feels very similar to times when I've overstrained a muscle. Would not recommend this place unless you have a direct recommendation for a massage therapist that someone you know has tried and had a positive experience with. I will take accountability for one thing- the host at the front did ask me how it went and I said "fine." I should've addressed my concerns while I was there but i had to get back to my parking meter, and honestly was still processing the experience.

Yelp
"Sabrina is a fantastic massage therapist. I also like the check in experience - super easy and quick. Friendly staff, clean restroom. But Sabrina is wonderful most of all "

Talia G.

Yelp
Tiffany did reach out to me and graciously allowed me to come back and try another therapist for free. I was recommended Dimorie (guessing on the spelling) and he was fantastic. He gave a good amount of pressure, was super friendly and knowledgeable. This time I left feeling better and would feel good about coming back and booking with him again. It's nice when a company does right by their customers and tries make a bad experience better.

Kirsten N.

Yelp
This 5 Stars is for Kit!! I've been a member for several years because of her. She's the absolute best, it's always a joy to see her and I always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. She's helped me work through chronic neck and shoulder pain and most recently my pregnancy. An absolute gem, I'll only book with her - no one else compares!

Tina C.

Yelp
Best massage ever from Carmella . Was beyond amazing. I will be back and I suggest going for the 80min!

Desiree S.

Yelp
I had to leave this review. I had an incredible 80-minute prenatal massage with Adam, big shout out. It was absolute heaven! He made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire session, and it was truly the best massage I've ever had. I will definitely be returning. Thank you so much again.

Vru S.

Yelp
The staff is nice and will help you with all your needs! Sabrina is an amazing therapist and very kind! She does well and always leaves me feeling stress free!

Yelp
I was my friend Melissa K.'s matron of honor, and for the tiny bit of work I put into those pleasurable duties, she gave me a gift certificate to The NOW. I live pretty close to the Fairfax location, and I took the opportunity to book myself a 50-minute pre-natal massage during the 30th week of my pregnancy. The confirmation email suggested leaving 15 minutes to find parking, but I was lucky enough to get the metered spot directly in front of the spa. That said, the 1-hour time limit might have cut into the relaxation part of the experience, so keep that in mind when you park. The massage was 50 minutes, but there were forms to fill out, and I had to read them to avoid the default opt-in for text marketing (boo on this shit). Unfortunately, there was no opt-out for emails, but I did unsubscribe immediately. The rest of the experience was nice, though. The front desk staff was friendly, the waiting area felt comfortable enough. This is a small in-the-city spa, so don't expect a whole lot of candles and water fountains and other atmospheric decor. The massage area is pleasant and relaxing, though. I think it was a low-lit hallway partitioned with curtains into individual rooms. My little space felt quiet and cozy, and I appreciated the massage table equipped with pregnancy pillow. Johnnae was my massage therapist, and she was great. The massage was really relaxing, a welcome break in my day. I don't get regular massages, but I can definitely see the appeal, and The NOW offers discounts if you get them in a package. I'm getting bigger and heavier by the week, so I could probably use another massage or two before this baby comes out. We'll see if I get up the initiative to spend my own money for the indulgence.

Yelp
If you are looking for peace and tranquility, this is deinitely the wrong place to go. The membership is a total scam. They will lure you into membership but charge you an ADDITIONAL month of membership AFTER you cancel your membership. Service and attitude of workers and managers there beyond horrible. It's clear that the whole establishment just wants money money money.

Sam M.

Yelp
I actually don't understand all the bad reviews. I had an 80 minute deep tissue massage with Cynthia and it was amazing! She really got into my knots and it was one of the best massages I've ever had. I was in a ton of neck pain and feel completely better now. Also, Cynthia is fully blind and I love that the NOW is so accommodating for people who are visually impaired. Cynthia is truly gifted, I highly recommend. 10/10!

Josephin L.

Yelp
Just had a prenatal massage here and my therapist did not seem experienced in this at all. I had to coach him quite a bit through the process. Which was unfortunate because it definitely made the experience less relaxing. I've had two other prenatals here before and they were great- I would just make sure to ask for a therapist that is specialized in this type of massage. Otherwise it will feel like a waste of money.

Joya E.

Yelp
It can be a hit or miss depending on your therapist. They have enhancements if you want to add them. I like the Gua Sha as an enhancement. I've recently seen Kit and Kayla. I will say for the price I rather go to a full-service spa which is a bit more with amenities like a sauna and steam room. Also, it is hard to get an appointment for the weekends so book in advance. Parking can be difficult as well.

Camila O.

Yelp
Carmella is heaven sent and a true expert in their craft! I would recommend anyone considering this location to book with them

Yelp
I have never been to a massage salon where I left not revitalized & upset. My masseuse was Connor and he asked me what areas I would like him to focus on; I mentioned my left shoulder is a problem area but please massage me all over except for my hair. This man did focus on my neck, a little on my back and one foot. He also kept asking me to turn my head in different directions. I've never had a masseuse who kept talking to me when clearly I want to be relaxed and fall asleep. After touching on those 3 areas, he had the nerve to say the massage was over after that. As a masseuse you should be able to manage your time. When he told me it was over, I asked already? He replied "sometimes we ran out of time". I then said "I thought this was a full body massage". He goes "they don't really want us touching legs like that" and left. -__- Wtf was that?!? I immediately got dressed and tried to leave. He didn't even leave the curtain unhooked for me so I have to feel around for the hook to unhook it from the outside. Mind you, this was my first time there and how to get out was never explained. I get out, head to the front and expressed what happened. The manager said she would assess the situation with Connor and gave me half off. I was using a gift card so it wasn't really about the money, it was about the service. I walk a lot at work and was so excited for this massage. What a complete letdown. It made me never want to come back. It looks like a nice place but clearly it's just for show. Oh and they give you unfiltered tap water! At least filter it or use bottled; come on you guys. This was just disappointing all around.

Stefanie M.

Yelp
Where do I start? To be honest, parking isn't easy but Luis hinted at parking across the street at the park which I'll do moving forward. He was also kind enough to put more time on my meter while i was getting my massage (the meters only go up to an hour ). This is my first time here and it's quite lovely. It's not your typical spa feel but walking to the back feels more like an outdoor adventure in a lowly lit room. Each bed is separated by thick canvas walls but the entrance is covered with draping. The bathroom is adorable and the staff are all very friendly. It for sure gives peaceful vibes while they listen to lounge music in the front. I'm waiting on my massage so I'll update shortly... Joseph was AMAZING!!! He played white noise and it was all too relaxing. He checked in to make sure the pressure was comfortable and was very respectful of my comfort during the massage. I would definitely recommend coming :-) The lighting in the room looks brighter then it actually is

I T.

Yelp
If I was rating just the actual massage it would have been 5 stars but this location is not it. It's between 2 dog stores so all I heard was constant barking it was really distracting. I hated that you don't have your own room with walls because I felt super awkward asking for anything, or requesting adjustments. I just felt like I really couldn't relax because everything was so distracting and I was so worried about ruining someone else's time I couldn't speak up. Also, coconut oil is not good on fine hair it can cause a lot of breakage, if you're going to do scalp massages try another option for people with fine hair like jojoba or olive oil.

Jeff W.

Yelp
Nice place, good massages. Sometimes IMPOSSIBLE to get someone on the phone to book a massage. The owner of this franchise needs to stop being so cheap and hire more staff.

jacqueline z.

Yelp
As someone whose had a lot of bodywork across the globe, Swedish is not usually my massage of choice. But having 3 options, I picked the signature massage THE NOW and it was fantastic. My therapist was Caylen, who has many 5-star reviews on Yelp for good reason. Sometimes a relaxing massage is not deep or a deep massage is not relaxing. Caylen balances both beautifully. It was 80 minutes of deep relaxation and working some tight muscles. I will definitely revisit when back in LA! PS -- yes, the dogs 2 stores down bark. Take the ear plugs that are offered or book when the doggy day care is closed.

Ali B.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE!! They made a blood vessel in my eye pop. Took no accountability. Told me I'd have to wait 2-3 days to speak to a manager and were laughing on the phone about what happened. There have the least costumer service skills I've ever experienced. The message therapist also tried to charge my friend $20 to give a firmer massage. They should be shut down. The massages are crappy to but that's the least of the bad of it.

Trish H.

Yelp
Great spot for regular massages. Clean. Cute. Friendly staff. Be sure to book in advance if you can.

Morgan G.

Yelp
The most average massage I've ever received. Honestly, probably below average. Don't listen to the social media hype. I really wanted to love this place! But alas.. When I was first greeted by my massage therapist, she seemed like she had just been running around and was completely out of breath. I feel like they're churning people out as fast as they can and prioritizing quantity over quality. You have barely any privacy because there aren't even real walls separating you from the other clients/massage therapists. There's just a thick canvas in between each "room." Additionally, there's either a doggy daycare or pet shop nearby and you can hear dogs barking your entire massage. Not super relaxing. I paid extra for the scalp treatment and deep tissue add ons. They just squirted a couple of drops of the treatment in my hair and lightly touched my scalp for a minute or two. Definitely not worth the money. The deep tissue add on was also a waste of money. My massage therapist had the lightest touch ever. Also, they massage you through a sheet like 80% of the time? If you do for some reason decide to come here, I'd recommend opting for a male massage therapist, so at least you know they'll be stronger and be able to get your knots out effectively. Just go somewhere else. This place basically felt like a greenwashed/trendy Massage Envy.

Paula C.

Yelp
My massage was very disappointing. My masseuse really didn't seem to know what they were doing. She just rubbed my skin but didn't seem to know where my muscles were. I asked for more pressure at one point which didn't make any difference. I have to wonder if they are all licensed masseuses because she really didn't know what she was doing. This was so bad it was sad.

Kassie V.

Yelp
The place itself is nice. Hard to find parking for sure, but staff is friendly. Giving four stars because I've been twice - the first time, my massage was relatively underwhelming. I gave it another chance because of its proximity to me, and this time, the massage was outstanding! So for me, the experience varies depending on the therapist. I highly recommend Johnnae, she absolutely knows what she's doing, and everything felt amazing.

Kian A.

Yelp
This was just a lame experience. The masseuse was nice enough, but she wasn't strong-enough to get my kinks out. Also, in terms of timing I definitely did not get what I paid for - I checked in for a 3:45 reservation, and after about 10 minutes of her asking what I wanted, using the bathroom, and disrobing, my massage ended at 4:30. From the other reviews, it looks like the quick cut off and including the time between checkin and the actual massage start is a common thing. For $110 for a standard 50 minute massage, shaving off those extra minutes is just lame. I definitely would not pay the same price to come back, and I'd ask for a stronger masseuse.

Kiara B.

Yelp
Fantastic massage by Ricardo this evening as well as warm and welcoming front desk staff! The tension relief I felt in my jaw was incredible, I'm very grateful for Ricardo's skillset and attention to detail! I've been here three times for massages and each time my masseuse has been wonderful. My boyfriend also really enjoyed his massage from Eddie! Thank you all so much!

Priscilia R.

Yelp
I really want to share my experience at The NOW Spa, and honestly, it was a big letdown. I had booked an 80-minute prenatal massage, thinking it would be a great way to unwind and feel better. But what actually happened during the session was extremely disappointing. The therapist, who was nice totally inexperienced in prenatal massage, didn't do a good job at all. Right from the start, it was obvious that the therapist wasn't confident in what he was doing. He clearly didn't know how to do a prenatal massage and was scared of touching me, which made the whole thing very awkward. He only used his fingertips, and it didn't feel like he was actually massaging my muscles. While I understand the guidelines of light pressure for a pregnant woman, this "light touch with the tip of his fingers" seemed more like a joke, that was giving me more frustration than relaxation. I tried to tell him a couple times, but he really seemed so scared to touch me and told me that I was a delicate flower and should be treated like so. To which I responded that I was not and would appreciate a little more pressure. But the pressure was not the only issue unfortunately. He mostly focused on my upper back and didn't even touch my middle or lower back. On my legs, he only worked on my calves and didn't pay any attention to my thighs, knees, or the front part of my lower legs. At all. The whole lack of technique, using short back-and-forth movements was also very frustrating. I thought about leaving the massage early, but I stayed because he was friendly. Looking back, I wish I had left and not wasted my time. The front desk did offer a discount but that didn't really make up for how disappointing the whole experience was. I was really looking forward to a soothing massage, but it turned out to be the opposite. I ended up paying $125 for this massage, and honestly, this was a total waste of money and time. I tried to reach out to the manager through email to explain what happened, but I never got a response. It left me feeling like they didn't really care about their customers. Considering how things went, I really can't recommend going to The NOW Spa. They let someone who wasn't properly trained give me a specialized massage he was so afraid to do. And the fact that the manager didn't even bother getting back to me just ads to this whole negative experience. I wish I had spent my money elsewhere and spent the time to write this review to help you not making the same mistake.

Briana M.

Yelp
Wonderful! Vibes are immaculate, front desk is nice. I've came here about 4 times , but this last time was hands down the best I finally found my perfect masseuse. The crashing waves, the weary bed, the dark lighting so you can totally block everything out. Awzuan was amazing , I'm a new member and was the best decision. I just left and I already can't wait for next month!

B. A.

Yelp
Very nice people (this review is not about that) but there are two things that might be helpful for anyone who is interested: 1) After the process of signing in an showing my ID and vaccine card, I was very distressed to find that the person who was going to give me a massage is not vaccinated. Thankfully I thought to ask. While I understand it is a person's right to be unvaccinated (although I disagree with this position) it is mind boggling that it is OK to not disclose this to clients IN ADVANCE. (And they even said that it is the masseuses' discretion as to whether or not they even answer that question when asked - AND further: You cannot inquire in advance when making appointments) That seems wrong to require all clients to be vaccinated and yet not disclose any unvaccinated employees. This would be a huge waste of time if people trek all the way over there just to find this out, not to mention possible the risk of possible virus transmission. 2) You will be handed an iPad on your first visit with various legal things to read and sign (not like the old days of walking in to a place to get a massage and you know, just getting a massage with no drama lol) Others might not be disturbed by this but I was particularly upset at having to sign away my rights to legal action should any horrible thing occur - While I know this is unlikely to happen, "arbitration agreements" tie the hands of customers and keep them from being able to file ANY type of legal action OR a class action suit. For those unfamiliar with it, look up arbitration - You may be surprised. Almost never good for customers. Also: in arbitration cases, the mediator is always hired BY THE COMPANY which is why customers lose 80-90% of the time. I know issues are unlikely, but there is a reason that companies have this language in their contracts: To cover themselves. So, ummm, they think it is important enough to include.... Not the most relaxing things to find out in a massage place.

Rachel H.

Yelp
Theresa was beyond amazing! By far the best massage I have ever received. Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere with highly skilled massage therapists, what more can you ask for? Can't wait to see Theresa again soon, thank you!

Rob J.

Yelp
I get a lot of massages at a lot of places but my massage with Kalen tonight may have been the best I've had. He literally transports you into this full experience with aromatherapy and his calming voice. I'm also a bodybuilder and it was therapeutic. The others here are good also but Kalen is 5 stars!!

Anna C.

Yelp
Update to my update. After writing my first update, someone DID reach out to me. They were SO accommodating and beyond apologetic for my experience. They offered me a free 80 minute massage to make up for the trouble. Well, I just got home from it, and let me just say, it was entirely different universe. It was the most relaxing massage I've had in my whole pregnancy (and I've had quite a few massages while pregnant). I owe it all to Kit at the WeHo location. I cannot recommend her enough if you're a pregnant mama. Not only did she work on ALL parts of my body this time (unlike my previous masseuse), but she offered some pregnancy/birth wisdom and tips too. I felt completely attended to, and Kit was really beyond wonderful. Thank you, The Now, for getting me to come back for one more try. I'm so glad I did!

Borby B.

Yelp
The ambiance was great. The front desk was pretty welcoming and offered water while we waited. The location looked amazing and good vibes all around. The products also looked pretty high quality. The ocean sounds during the massage was also nice. However, the actual massage itself fell flat. - The masseuse asked me in the beginning if there were any areas I wanted them to focus on. I said yes, and pointed to my neck and my legs. When I got the massage, they focused on these parts and almost ignored the rest of my body (my back and my thighs). I kinda wish I said full body instead, but this was my bad and I should've been more clear. - The intensity was inconsistent. I had to mention to go harder twice because they were being a bit soft. - The masseuse was sniffling the entire time and it took me out of it. - They did not wipe down the oils on my body nor offer me a towel to do so, so I left feeling kinda sticky afterwards. - My partner and I got to the location at the same time, but their masseuse was ready first. I went in ~5 or so minutes later. Despite this, I also finished earlier. We both got an "80-minute massage" and it seemed that I didn't get my full time? I checked my time and I think I was short by a few minutes, unless the consultation in the beginning was a part of it. My masseuse seemed to be on a rush to leave and even left before I got a chance to check out. I think I heard them say they were going to get lunch, so maybe they were just really hungry and haven't eaten all day. - There was also this bright white fluorescent light on the ceiling that was kinda annoying while I was getting a neck massage. I've gotten better massages at dinky massage places in Los Angeles. If you are going here, make sure to ask for someone with a bit more experience.

Yelp
Nataliyah was great! Another wonderful NOW experience. The enhancements are great. I literally felt suspended in time and so relaxed throughout my service. I recommend the 120 Minute massage because it allows for more time to settle in. Hannah was very professional, warm and accommodating. Great massage! Great service. Beautiful ambiance. Parking was a nonissue. The entire experience was wonderful. Great enhancements. The heat therapy was amazing. Booking was easy. Clean facility. Definitely will be back.

Britty B.

Yelp
I've been going to this massage parlor for a while and wanted to try this location. Pretty disappointing to be honest. They are next door to a dog grooming facility so you listen to dogs barking the entire massage regardless of the sound machines. I also paid to have an 80 min massage and was disappointed to not have my feet massaged, whatsoever during the service. I actually had to ask if we were done because I was confused. Definitely don't come to this location.

Taylor J.

Yelp
I'm pretty sure my soul left my body, during my massage with Shandra. It was like my body was being worked on while I was vacationing on another planet. It was out of this world. I came home and slept like I haven't been able to in ages. As if I'd been reset to factory settings, and everything is now aligned just right...my body, my mind...everything. I wasn't sure what to expect, since the other reviews make it seem like this place is really hit or miss, but DAMN! I feel reborn. I will be back next time I come home to see family, for sure. Other pros: -she is vaccinated (I was told I had to ask her directly. she's boostered .) -friendly staff -ambience/peaceful music Cons: -parking sucks -overwhelming candles -gross carpets -won't tell you if staff is vaxxed or not, but YOU have to show proof of vaccination (my office said get vaxxed or get fired. this is a wellness business, shouldn't they do the same?) Conclusion: If you want to feel brand new, go see Shandra. If you need a vaccinated masseuse, go see Shandra. If you need a scent-free environment, or stress-free parking...go somewhere else.

Yelp
I recently went to The Now Spa with my brother. Reception was really friendly and offered water upon arrival. Quickly my brothers and my masseuse came out to grab us. Inside, the vibe is very Moroccan and relaxing. There is relaxing ocean waves in the rooms. The moment my massage started, I thought I was on the old MTV show Punked. My masseuse didn't give a massage as much as she just caressed me. I wouldn't even say it was the pressure as much as it was the technique. It I asked for to please focus on my back as it hurt and there was no focus at all. When she "massaged" my arms, she even left one of them out dangling off the table where I questioned if she was done with it or not, but realized she was when she started working on the other side. She stretched one leg, but not the other. I was not able to relax or enjoy my massage at all. Prior to my massage, (big mistake), I bought two $150 gift cards to give to my friends as Christmas gifts. The massage left me such a sour taste, that I used the gift cards to pay for both my brother and I as I couldn't possibly put anyone I loved through this. I will come back solely to finish using the gift cards and I will never be back again. 10/10 do NOT recommend this place.

Yelp
I went here for a pregnancy massage on New Year's Day and was disappointed. The massage therapist barely applied any pressure or had any real technique and was massaging me over the blanket. When I asked for more pressure she said it wasn't safe because it could induce labor. This place is beautiful and has great ambiance. In fact I've actually had great experiences here before but just feeling the service was way overpriced for what I got.

Yelp
I've been coming here for awhile, when I can afford it ... my favorite part is that instead of music you hear waves and it's just SO relaxing. The front desk employees are always so sweet as well. Unfortunately the person who owns the NOW decided to open up a doggie daycare next door ... so for 40 mins of my 80 min massage there was NON-STOP barking!! My amazing masseuse went to grab me ear plugs but it felt weird because I couldn't hear the waves and could still hear the barking. I made jokes about the fact that the serial killer Berkowitz blamed his sprees on the barking dogs next door, and now I get it ... (joking of course) but it was awful. I was offered an enhancement ($10) for next time ... this was a very expensive massage to have incessant barking for half of it. I love this place and I hope they figure it out because this was not relaxing and not worth the money ...

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise to have found this place. I desperately needed some TLC and found this place when looking for somewhere that did sports massages. I was able to snag a same day reservation through their website - always a win. I'll admit when i got there it was a little underwhelming - there was a slew of people leaving and the waiting area got crowded and loud quickly but as soon as a someone grabbed me for my massage I felt transported. I got the stretch massage and added the scalp and deep tissue enhancements - well worth it in my opinion. The massage therapist immediately went to work and had an excellent touch applying just the right pressure in all the spots. It felt like her hands were moving across me every second without any interruptions or transitions. Definitely will be coming back here!

Yelp
I came for an 80 minute deep tissue massage which I paid extra for. I asked for hard pressure to get out knots in my neck and back. I received a very light gentle rub down, I wouldn't even consider it a Swedish massage. 80 minutes of gentle rubbing felt like a huge waste of money. I had to go to another practioner and pay for another massage as the "massage" here did nothing but irritate me since I paid so much for no relief at all. they did take off the extra charge for deep tissue but I still had to pay $150 for a light rub down. The place itself is nice but you can find way better massages in LA for much less. At least don't come here looking for deep tissue cause you won't find what you're looking for. You will leave disappointed in the service and the cost for sub par service. If yore looking for a very very light rub down then this place is for you.

Yelp
This was quite possibly the worst massage I've ever gotten. I don't think it's the place but the masseuse. My girlfriend enjoyed hers. But I'm telling you, you will lose clients if you keep the masseuse that massaged me. It felt like one of those cheap massage parlors but worse. Please check my appointment time at 9pm tonight, whoever that masseuse was is horrible. Feel free to email me if you want this taken down

Yelp
I came here a while back with a gift card. The place is super cute with that trendy hipster desert vibe that everyone seems to love these days. I signed up for the crown massage because I always have stiffness in my neck/shoulders. I was surprised when I ended up getting a full body massage. I totally thought it would just be my upper body/shoulder area but she ended up doing my whole body. The massage itself was good but not amazing. The masseuse offered to do a longer massage for me but I declined because I was pressed for time. I wouldn't come back especially since this place is really out of the way for me. Parking: street parking only and it is the worst!! Parking was SO hard to find and I ended up being a few minutes late because of it.
