"Located on the grounds of Maui Tropical Plantation, the Mill House sources much of its menu from agricultural tenants on its surrounding 1,800 acres of land. Executive chef Taylor Ponte—who was born and raised in Upcountry Maui and grew up hopping the fences of many of the ranches he now works with—then uses those ingredients in a variety of dishes that honor the men who emigrated from Japan, China, Spain, Korea, Portugal, and other distant countries to work in Maui’s sugarcane industry more than a century ago. Standout options include mushroom croquetas , pork musubi , taro leaf risotto, bean stew, and coffee-glazed rib eye with smoked potato puree. Reserve ahead and consider making a day of your visit. Along with fine dining, the plantation offers farm tours, a boutique selling locally made art and products, and a free, family-friendly park inhabited by wild birds."

"You won’t find this spot on the “resort rows” of Wailea or Kāʻanapali, but it’s worth the 20-30 minute trip from your hotel to Central Maui for dinner at The Mill House. Not only is the menu farm-driven, but it’s also farm-located, right in the middle of the Maui Tropical Plantation. Get here early to wander the property and take in the views of the Central Valley over Happy Hour cocktails and wood-fired sourdough pizzas. Dinner is definitely more upscale and expensive (though, this is still Maui, so flip-flops are always welcome), but if only one big night out is in the budget, The Mill House is where you should spend it." - Leah Ponichtera

I LOVED The Mill House!!! My family of 5 had lunch here and wish we could have gone back a second time to try more on their menu. The food was all local farm-to-table fresh, flavorful and delicious. The VIEWS while dining on their outdoor patio was INCREDIBLE. Our server Jamie - was friendly, genuine and passionate about what she does. She truly made our visit very special and we tried everything she recommended and loved it all. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who travels to Maui. Amazing experience all around!

Lovely atmosphere, delicious fresh food, warm service. You can taste the freshness of vegetables in salad. Some dishes are a little on the salty side, even the fresh bread, but generally very tasty and delicious. Definitely try to sit in the plantation side instead of in the theater. A little pricey for $$ ($115 for lunch for 4), but worth it.

Absolutely fantastic. We only got the small bites and chef's plates to share, but we got a lot! The surroundings and decor are also lovely. We'd hiked the sliding sands trail earlier that day and it was good to sit and enjoy the greenery with the food. It was refreshing to find a place that did such good fresh vegetarian food. Neither my husband nor I are veggie. Our server was Daniel and he was very amiable and provided a lot of insight and tips. Would definitely go back if we'd had more time to try the larger dishes.

Such a beautiful place to dine and enjoy the company of my sweetheart ❤ The setting is as amazingly beautiful on a different level, as Mamas Fish House. We ordered one dish each from Bite, Small Plate, Pasta and Entree, all were fabulously delicious, we savored every morsel! Portions are small, so take your time to taste each flavorful bite. We didn't have time to tour the plantation but will definitely return. The grounds are impeccable and quirky fun, there's plentiful parking and immaculately clean restrooms! We made lunch reservations, but it wasn't necessary, they weren't busy at all, but, I would highly recommend reservations for dinner! This is another must do while on Maui.

Had dinner here for my sister in laws wedding reception. The scenery is very pleasant and made for some nice pictures! The food I had was very good and my wife liked her food a lot as well. We all felt that the server was a bit pushy with us on ordering more food or drinks and was a bit of a turn off. I had said I was good with just ice water and got asked a couple times if I wanted a drink, seemed to be frustrated with people when they didn't want to look at a desert menu because we were all so stuffed. I'm not sure if this is restaurant policy or what but just seemed like it could be cut back a bit.

Outstanding location and exquisite food. Look for outdoor seating by the lagoon for the best experience. The menu changes daily, and everything is cooked to perfection. I found the sauces to be a little heavy for the fish items - since the fish themselves are so fresh and tasty that they don’t need a sauce really. Also, you must try any vegetable dish, as they are mostly from the estate’s gardens, and so so tasty. The restaurant offers kama’aina discount. Updated: so we were back two years later and the food is still exquisite. Service was a little slow this time, maybe due to a busy Friday evening, but overall a great experience.

Lovely views of the valley and mountains. Large patio with shade. The indoor seating is spacious with large doors that open to the patio. The staff are very friendly and make good recommendations. The ahi nachos, prime rib dip, and hamachi Kama are delicious. The cocktails are also fantastic—interesting flavor profiles and very well balanced. Highly recommend.

The restaurant had a fascinating decor with historical features added into the layout of the dining area. The ambiance was enhanced with the open air setting. The entrees and appetizers were equally beautiful in preparation, however the favor profiles did not match the presentation. The entrees tasted good, but did not have the wow quality that was present in every other aspect of the restaurant.
