Great food, really cool staff and beautiful patio with flowers and hanging baskets. Staff very attentive. We orders the loaded potato skins and the buffalo chicken wraps, fries also of course. Spicy but tasty. Thank you

We visited Victoria on Sunday, September 29. Victoria was the first port on our Cruise. I had laid out a bit of a pub crawl and The Local was the 1st stop on the list and the venue I wanted to watch football in. Boy did I pick the right place. Unfortunately I need the Jets to win. They didn't. From the moment i walked in I loved the layout and decor of the place. Multiple big screen tv's all over the place, with the owner asking which games the customers wanted to watch on which tv's. There is definitely a sports vibe in this place. The service was excellent. i tried a couple of different beers. We did not eat as we had breakfast already. There is a decent sized outdoor patio as well for days with better weather. This was my favorite pub of all the ones we tried in Victoria. If i ever venture back to Victoria, I will definitely revisit The Local.

The Local is a great place to go for amazing food and eccentric atmosphere. The service here was fast and the food was tasty! Definitely a good place to hang out with friends and grab a drink :)

The vibe here alone would have been enough to draw us in, but the floral ambiance of the outdoor patio, the lighting, and the perfect summer evening weather made The Local our first dining choice for our weekend visit to Victoria! We found it randomly on our nighttime stroll through Bastion Square, although we ended up looping around the block to get a feel for the area before setting in. Despite it seeming to be completely full, we were seated immediately on an outdoor patio table away from the street, and our incredibly friendly and welcoming server Danika taking care of us for the rest of the stay. We ordered the Cowboy Steak Tacos, the Spicy Vegetarian Rockstar, and a London Pimm's between us, and were treated to a slowly-encroaching lightning storm in the distance, while we waited, which wasn't long! The Cowboy Steak Tacos were probably my favorite meal of the entire trip: peppery, spicy and lean, with a delicious savory sauce and pickled onions. Even my wife's tofu salad dish, something not usually to my liking, had a thick glaze of spicy sauce that gave it a more solid, inviting texture, and when coupled with the array of fresh veggies, really came together to create a dish even I would order. And my London Pimm's, despite being a gin drink which, again, not something I usually order, was light, crisp and refreshing, and something I'd like to have more often. I should try to get the recipe. I didn't see much of the interior, but I liked what I saw: looks like the kind of party bar, like the Dixie, that I tend to frequent back in Portland, although nicer: multi-hued neon lighting, loud music, attractive women, multiple levels. But the outside patio is really where it's at: I didn't see a restaurant with outdoor seating anywhere in downtown Victoria that could hold a candle to the charm of The Local, and it will always stand out in my mind as one of the city's premier outdoor dining option: a fantastic location at the base of the Bastion Square steps, and boasting an unparalleled ambiance. This is the sort of place I am going to want to return to again and again, whenever the weather (and the wallet) allows!

I love how the staff welcomed us to the restaurant. The place made me feel relaxed while devouring the food. It’s really nice to hang out in this area with anybody. Although I did not like the food that much because what was served to me was quite bland but we will see. I still consider this as a good hangout place!

Perfect summer date spot! Everything was yum. If you want to watch a hockey or football game, it’s perfect as you’ll have loads of people cheering with you and it’s such a fun little environment! It’s right by the harbour and it’s a beautiful spot for brunch or date nights! Prices are good too, not too pricey!

Didn't try the food. Stopped her for a quick beer before heading back to cruise ship. The weather was a little cold and windy so we sat inside by the window and people watched and warmed up. Cozy little spot. Bathrooms need some plumbing attention.

We really enjoyed our lunch here! We had the Greek Wrap and the Steak Tacos. The fries were a little bland but we were too full to eat many of them. Loved our cocktails as well!
