"When you're jonesing for a late night of dancing, head to The Jane for DJs like Kenno and the Glitter Boys. This laid-back underground lounge and nightclub, situated right in the city center, also makes cocktails that prove miles ahead of the oft-forgettable ones so common at clubs. And one glimpse at the Mad Men décor—the books, the Chesterfields, the dark wood—indicates that The Jane prefers understated glamour to heavy-handed flash." - Alia Akkam

Cocktails were nice and decently priced, but the music and customer service was not very good and we left after an hour.

Being forced to pay 50 to check your jacket is insane. No place has ever forced me to pay to check it.

Like the atmosphere and music, but service wasn’t great sitting at a table for at least an hour when a bartender comes over to tell us to move since someone else had booked this table, with no notice on the table of any bookings the way we were treated wasn’t great and no effort was made to move us to another table or apology. It was clearly a mess up on the tables on their part but no effort made to sort the situation.

One of the best places for a party in Copenhagen. Cozy and fairly quiet lounge if you want to talk to someone and an always-crowded dance floor if you want to move. Delicious cocktails, variety of shots. Reasonable prices for such a nice bar. Good service, always.

One of the best bars in Copenhagen. Must attend. Very friendly door staff, and great decor and atmosphere. Bar staff are great and clientele even better. Copenhagen girls are dressed to impress so if you are too you are sure to have a great time. Definitely return on my next trip.

Such a nice place! I love how the style is very thorough and all of the little nooks and crannies makes it feel very private when sitting at a table. There are 3 bars so you never have to wait too long to get a drink. The drinks are all very unique and the two I tried were very fresh and good. Overall I'd definitely recommend going there for a night out.

Yelp
Went solo on a Friday night. Had a little trouble finding it, but no trouble getting in. It's essentially three bars in one...hidden nook bar in the front away from most of the action, bar/bar in the middle, meaning you can still hear the music and a few people are dancing but if that's not your thing, not to fret, and then dance floor/club in the back. I enjoyed the middle and the back during my 4+ hours there...making friendly convo with the bartenders in the middle and ordering a few drinks from them, as well as getting sweaty/drinking in the back thanks to the stellar music from the DJ. Prob would have stayed until they kicked me out but had a plane to catch the next morning!

Yelp
One of the greater places in Copenhagen, here you'll find both places to sit and talk, perhaps smoke a cigar in the open "library" or go nuts on the dance-floor. The DJ's all have their personal style and the music is never the same. I personally really enjoy the mix of different settings, whether you like hanging in the bar or yelling to each other at a packed floor. The cocktails are strong, but slightly pricy and the crowd is a bit mature, stylish place. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
This was definitely one of the best night outs I have had in a long time. I came here by myself during my trip to Copenhagen. After hitting a couple of bars I felt like dancing and Yelp showed me the way to The Jane (which had recently just re-opened after some damages from a flood). I made friends on the line to get in, which is quite uncommon in Scandinavia, but I felt like the people around this place were all very welcoming and nice. Decor is amazing, looks like a speakeasy bar with several ambiances, a room that is perfect if you are a smoker, two different bars and the dance floor. If you come here with many friends you can reserve an area with a table and be more comfortable, if not you are welcome to browse around, sit down or dance all night (like I did). DJ was great and played a mix of old and new hits. Beastie Boys to Beyonce - I loved it. Drinks are a little expensive but if you pregame somewhere and come here for a fun dancy night you should be fine.

Yelp
The Jane won the day on Saturday for a lot of reasons. Planned in advance to have a table reserved for my group and the bachelorette of the hour, for the final stop on a bachelorette party adventure about town. We were informed of a minimum charge for the table (1500kr for six of us), and were assigned a very attentive hostess, who helped us get all settled in, and checked in on us from time to time to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied. We never had to fight for a place at the bar, and proooooobably had way too much alcohol at our disposal (which we then ended up sharing). The dance floor was bumping, the crowd was in grand spirits (thanks in part to a gorgeous spring day preceding the evening out), and everyone had a fabulous time. Took a star away for the self-righteous doorman, who after letting in half the party, refused the other half who came ten minutes later (an additional 3 people) stating capacity problems and having let in too many people in at one time (the communication and agreement prior to this was that no one in the party should have to wait in line, so long as they arrived before midnight). There were zero capacity problems (the bar was half empty still), it was 11:35pm, and the guy was thinking pretty squarely, which rubbed half our guests the wrong way for understandable reasons (it was also raining outside at this point). Getting ahold of our hostess with the mostest quickly resolved the issue, and she was very apologetic, but doorman are the face of bars and have the power to quickly ruin a good vibe with attitudes like that, so hopefully that gets changed sometime in the near future.

Yelp
The jane is a perfect club for dancing with cocktails! Wouldn't go there after 12 though cause it starts having a line. The interior is unique, very old style with an expensive look. What is special in this place is that it's a bit of everything. It is a cocktail bar, a club (but no entrance), a lounge bar and then just a regular bar. What I mean with that is that for example the cocktails are very tasty and pricey like in a cocktail bar. The dance floor is quite large with a dj who is not playing the latest hits from pop or hip hop but more like techno like in a proper club. The first part of Jane is the classy part where you have a more quiet side, furniture resembling an old movie with a library and few tables to sit and chat like in a lounge bar. And you can also get regular beers instead of expensive cocktails like in a regular bar (regarding the beers as far as I remember they where also expensive). The crowd is very differing. Almost everyone has been to the jane as it hasn't got a specific style and everyone can have their own corner that makes them happy in there. So the age group is from very young to 30+ and all types of styles. So there is no question of not fitting in. For me it's just not one of those places that I think: oh I should go to The Jane tonight. It just kind of happens unplanned. And the prices are quite high. That's why the 4 and not 5 stars for this review.

Yelp
Very mature crowd and decent music. I enjoyed my time here but the crowd was very "posh" as my European friends would say! In America we would refer to this crowd as bourgie (truncation of bourgeoisie)

Yelp
I attended the re-opening last night and had a wonderful time. The cocktails that I had were really tasty compared to similar clubs. The bartenders put a lot of care into each drink and it showed. I had a margarita (perfectly crafted) and then asked the bartender to make me his favorite (I can't find the menu online, but the drink had whisky, lemon, ginger, cinnamon, and other spices in it). I liked the second drink the best! The layout of The Jane is really interesting to navigate (but watch your step or you might take a tumble like I did)! You feel like you're discovering secret rooms at every turn. There were quieter places for both large and small groups to sit as well as a dance floor by the dj. I thought the dj was on point and enjoyed his selection of songs. I would recommend this club for a night when you aren't sure if you want to sit and chat or dance, because The Jane suits both moods. I think that the website should showcase the menu, because interesting cocktails go hand in hand with the speakeasy vibe they're going for!

Yelp
I am usually not a club person. But this place got me. The division of the different room, the music, the sound system were literally perfect. Thanks to the great DJ (Halloween night 2014), we really had a good time. Reserved a table if you want your own space.

Yelp
"The Jane" is a nice cellar bar/club with an eclective crowd of grown-ups. The interior is inspired by another century which makes it a very cozy place to have a drink and a chat with friends or strangers.

Yelp
Cocktails are pretty strong, I love the variety here between bar, dance floor and lounge rooms. So whether you want to drink and chat or dance the night away, there's something here for everyone. The scene is more mature but in a favorable sense. Definitely worth checking out on a night out.
