"A leading contemporary art museum located in Boston, known for its innovative exhibitions and waterfront architecture."
"The ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) is the gem of the Seaport. Exhibits are diverse and change frequently, and there’s lots of awesome programming including music, dance, teens and kids/family events. The ICA’s harborside location is absolutely captivating, and the museum offers many opportunities to sit quietly and enjoy the view with elegantly incorporated interior and exterior spaces. In the warmer months, the outdoor deck hosts live music and DJ’ed dance parties." - Branding Iron @ Stantec
"The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston (known as the ICA), built its permanent home in 2006 on the edge of the harbor in the Seaport District. Diller Scofidio + Renfro designed the contemporary building to mirror the industrial cranes that load container ships nearby. Inside, you’ll find provocative contemporary art and a dedication to stellar programming. ICA’s collection is anchored by remarkable work by twentieth- and twenty-first-century women, including Louise Bourgeois, Doris Salcedo, and Eva Hesse, all donated by philanthropist and activist Barbara Lee. In summer 2018, the museum inaugurated the ICA Watershed, a seasonal satellite space for large-scale work that’s open Memorial to Labor Day. Located in a former factory in East Boston, it’s reached by a free shuttle included in the price of admission. (Be sure to book it ahead.)" - Elizabeth Wellington, Andrew Sessa
"A dramatic mix of glass and opaque metal overlooking Boston Harbor, the ICA fills its 65,000-square-foot space with contemporary art, including film, literature, performance art, and visual art. In addition to major thematic exhibitions, the museum displays works from well-known and emerging artists, such as Andy Warhol and Cindy Sherman to text artist Jenny Holzer and found-object artist Nari Ward. In 2018, the museum opened the ICA Watershed, a 15,000-foot space for large-scale works located in the Boston Harbor Shipyard and Marina. The museum is free on Thursday nights from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM." - MATADOR_NETWORK
