Yelp
Wonderful place....bucket list level.
I've been before, loved our recent stay, hated leaving and will most certainly stay her again.
The location is unbeatable.
If you love the bay--one of the top treasures when living in, or visiting, this area-- and want to connect with it, this must be the #1 place to do that. There are other bay adjacent properties, but none so well positioned for views of the city, the bay, and more.....none giving such direct contact with the sights and sounds of being just 'above the tide'.
The staff are amazing!
Helpful, caring, efficient, knowledgeable, and more.
Long term staff who know the town, the property and each other.
Have you ever been in a hotel and asked the staff something only to realize they come to work, then go home, but have no idea about the area surrounding their hotel....and in some cases, limited thoughts or connection to the hotel they work at?
That is NOT The Inn Above Tide.
They know each other, the town, the property, all very well.
They care about their guests' experiences, realizing they are helping them live their dreams, create memories, celebrate something special and more.
They care deeply about the hotel's reputation.
If you have an issue and they can solve it, they will do their best to try.
If you need local guidance, they'll help with that.
They know and are connected to the adjacent town and area.
Stunning breakfast treats.
Fresh bread & pastries, granola, protein options, wonderful tea & coffee, all included.
At night there's a wine & cheese hour that is far more generous than most I've experienced.
ALL included!
And while we were enjoying the morning and evening treats, we met other guests. It was fun to share stories about travels, life and more. Many of the guests were repeat visitors who loved the property & the staff.
The more basic rooms are a little small, but so well appointed, you'll get over that in a few minutes....plus, you have a lovely balcony with the expanse of the bay right in front of you.
The sounds of the bay are healing.
The views--the bay, the city, Belvedere.
The commute includes seals, birds, and an occasional Ferry.
In the distance there are sail & motor boats, and further out, the shipping industry is passing you buy.
Bring your binoculars and settle in.
Then there's the location.
Close to the ferry for a day trip.
Very central to Sausalito for a walk, a drink or food at one of their nearby bars, restaurants, wine bars, and more.
Groceries from nearby Mollie Stone's.
And if you get that far, consider popping into Fish. Wonderful!!
You can sit inside or outside
(During pandemic, perhaps you can still have your meal in the nearby area--not controlled by the restaurant. Not sure as we were there before things shut down as completely.)
If you are lucky enough to be able to afford a stay at The Inn Above Tide, you really must.
Their prices are a bit high, but what do they say--location, location, location.
This is a small, boutique, in demand property. There is NOTHING like the location.
And they respect your funds, make the rooms amazing, having wonderful staff, amazing food amenities in the morning and evening.
Casa Madrona down & across the street doesn't have these views.
While it's a beautiful property, the staff and tenor has been influenced by the leadership. NO heart, no caring, they just want your credit card and you can go.
From my experience, during multiple visits, they do NOT care about their guests.
And obviously, the location isn't as amazing.
The Inn Above Tide absolutely does care and it shows in lots of ways, bit and small.
It's intimate.
The staff feel like they're all family, and you can see the return guests are welcomed as extended family.
Can't wait to return.
